Chapter 1635 - 1636: Someone Came to See Little Cheng Su
Cheng Su stayed at the Cheng family for half a day and discussed a lot of business with Cheng Yaozong. Seeing that it was getting dark, she decided to take Qi Xiaoqi home.
"I have another place to go tomorrow, and the day after we’ll return to Qing City," Cheng Su said. "After discussing with Qi Taiguo, I’ll decide whether to open the Seafood Shop, and then I’ll come back."
Old Master Cheng knew she had her studies, so he didn’t insist on her staying longer, only asked her to have a meal at home before leaving, to which Cheng Su agreed.
After she left, Old Master Cheng continued to talk with Cheng Yaozong: "Even if it’s just a small Seafood Shop, it’s not easy to run smoothly. You have connections in this area, so introduce a few to her and give her a helping hand."
Cheng Yaozong naturally agreed.
"What do you think about the land she mentioned?" Old Master Cheng asked again.
Cheng Yaozong said, "Currently, most of our capital chain is tied up in real estate projects. To pull out and buy a piece of land would leave us stretched thin."
"Did you sell the piece in the south as she suggested?" Old Master Cheng inquired.
"Dad, are you saying..."
"Isn’t it that the piece of land in the south was also something she suggested you buy back then? In just a year, the value of that land has doubled. Don’t you see?" Old Master Cheng squinted his eyes slightly.
Cheng Yaozong’s eyes sparkled as he said, "Yes, the girl’s sight is sharp, as if she knew it would definitely double in value..."
At this point, both of them felt a bit puzzled but didn’t think much of it, only feeling that Cheng Su had a unique vision.
"So, do you think we should sell the land in the south and buy the large piece Little Cheng Su mentioned?" Cheng Yaozong asked.
Old Master Cheng yawned: "Even if it’s not sold, it will appreciate. However, for capital to flow quickly, it’s good to have a few large plots. I’m old now; this matter should be discussed among you brothers, and see what your elder brother thinks too!"
Cheng Yaozong nodded, already leaning towards selling.
...
Cheng Su said she wanted to stay one more day, not for any other reason but to visit Little Cheng Su.
Today, Qi Xiaoqi was a bit fussy, so she didn’t bring Qi Xiaoqi along. She left him at home and brought some snacks and stationery to the orphanage.
Little Cheng Su was already two and a half years old. When Cheng Su arrived, she was standing by the door, sucking her finger, with big curious eyes watching Cheng Su.
Seeing her, Cheng Su’s heart felt both sour and soft. She hugged her and put the small cake she brought into her hand.
"Are you here to adopt me?" Little Cheng Su didn’t eat but looked at Cheng Su expectantly.
Cheng Su’s heart ached, and she didn’t speak.
How should she answer this? To say no? That would make her sad!
Little Cheng Su just looked at her, her gaze turning from hopeful to disappointed. Realizing Cheng Su wouldn’t answer, she half climbed and half rolled off her lap and ran out the door.
Cheng Su reached out, wanting to call her back, but her throat was choked up, unable to make a sound, as tears fell.
"Kids don’t understand, don’t blame her. This child has been quite sensitive since she was little, asking everyone who comes the same question!" The director patted her shoulder, saying, "I heard you’ve become a mother too, congratulations."
Cheng Su managed a faint smile and said, "Thank you. He was a bit fussy today, otherwise I would have brought him for you to see."
"There will be opportunities in the future." The director smiled and added, "Oh, someone else came to see Little Cheng Su before!"
Hearing this, Cheng Su was taken aback.
