Chapter 1743: Chapter 1744: Coincidence

Though Cheng Su and Ning Ge hadn’t seen each other for months, once they reunited, they had endless things to talk about—business, life, and emotions. However, Comrade Xiao Ning was a bit slower when it came to emotions. According to him, someone who had slept with him was now evaporating from his life.

The two talked and ate, with Qi Xiaoqi babbling nearby, creating a harmonious atmosphere.

The door of the private room was knocked on, and as they looked over, they saw Luh Kai walking in, carrying a child, accompanied by his wife.

“Oh, you’re here too?” Cheng Su quickly grabbed a napkin to wipe her mouth, stood up, and greeted them with a smile.

“My father-in-law’s birthday, so the whole family is here at the restaurant to celebrate. I heard from Qiulan that you were here too, so I came over,” Luh Kai said with a smile.

Cheng Su looked at the child in his arms, dressed in thin clothes, and with eyes curiously looking at her while sucking a finger, suddenly pointed at her.

“Is this your son? He looks a lot like you.” Cheng Su clapped her hands and reached out to him.

Luh Kai’s child and Qi Xiaoqi were about the same age, just a month apart. He was also a son. When they held the month-old celebration, Cheng Su happened to be busy and couldn’t attend, only sent a gift.

In nearly a year, even when they occasionally met, it was always in passing. So this was actually Cheng Su’s first time seeing the child.

“Relatives say father and son came out of the same mold, but once they are older, who knows!” Xie Minyi laughed.

Cheng Su had already taken the child into her arms, saying, “Oh, he’s quite heavy. What’s his name?”

“Luh Wei.”

Cheng Su’s smile froze, and she looked at Luh Kai in surprise, “What? What’s his name again?”

“Luh Wei, as in ‘great’,” Xie Minyi chimed in.

Cheng Su tightened her hold on the child a bit and asked with a smile, “Why did you choose that name?”

Was it a coincidence, or was Luh Wei the same Luh Wei she knew from later years?

It couldn’t be. Luh Wei was also an orphan; they said his whole family was on a trip and got into a car accident, his parents passed away, and he was raised by an aunt.

Cheng Su’s heart tightened, and she lowered her head to carefully examine the child in her arms.

The contours were indeed very much like his father. If he grew up like this, he could very likely be carved from the same mold as Luh Kai.

Back when she first met Luh Kai, she had mistakenly called him Luh Wei. If this child grew up to be like Luh Kai, then could he be the Luh Wei she knew?

Cheng Su felt a bit of panic, looking into the child’s eyes, which seemed to respond to her emotions, and he started crying loudly.

“Oh, don’t cry, don’t cry.” Cheng Su came back to her senses and bounced him gently.

“He’s probably just shy,” Xie Minyi said with a smile, extending her hands.

Cheng Su handed the child back to her. Once he was in his mother’s arms, he stopped crying, sucking his finger while looking at her, with a very aggrieved expression.

“His dad chose the name, said it just suddenly came to him!” Xie Minyi replied to Cheng Su’s earlier question.

Cheng Su looked at Luh Kai, saw him nodding with a smile, and suddenly understood. Was it because she had mistakenly called him the name before that he chose it?

“You keep it too simple, you need to be more careful with a boy’s name.” Cheng Su could only reproach jokingly, but her heart felt complex, especially when looking at the child, her expression was inexplicable.

Beside them, Qi Xiaoqi listened and thought, even simpler than my muddled name? Just because you dreamed of flowers blooming everywhere, you named me Qi Fang.

And as she looked back at the little kid, Qi Xiaoqi lazily moved her gaze away, not noticing the thoughtful expression on her godfather’s face as he looked at her mother.
