Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1877 - 1879: Satisfied

Chapter 1877: Chapter 1879: Satisfied

Half a year had passed, and even though the Cheng family occasionally hired someone to clean, there was still a bit of dust. But now, the house was spotless and neatly tidied, clearly recently cleaned.

Over the summer break, Qi Jianguo did some part-time work at Cheng Yaozu’s place and stayed at Cheng Su’s house. So besides him, Cheng Su couldn’t think of anyone else unless Xiao Ya sent someone to clean it.

Qi Jianguo scratched his head and said, "I thought I couldn’t stay here for free. With New Year’s approaching, I cleaned up so that when you guys come, the place is comfortable, and you wouldn’t need to clean again."

Mother Qi scolded jokingly, "What silly things are you saying? How is it staying for free, this is your brother..." She glanced at Cheng Su, "...and your sister-in-law’s home. You’re staying a few days, and outsiders wouldn’t say anything."

Cheng Su smiled silently.

"It’s my big brother and sister-in-law’s, not mine. It’s not much effort to clean," Qi Jianguo didn’t quite agree with his mom’s words.

Mother Qi wanted to say more, but Father Qi interrupted, "He’s right. You’re a grown man, cleaning a house isn’t difficult. Doesn’t it often say, if you can’t clean a house, how can you clean the world? You haven’t wasted your education."

Qi Jianguo smiled and, seeing Qi Xiaoqi being put down, walked over and said, "Xiao Qi is so big now? Do you still remember your little uncle?"

Qi Xiaoqi tilted his head and stared at him.

"This is your little uncle," Cheng Su said.

"Little uncle," Qi Xiaoqi called out sweetly.

"Ah, good boy," Qi Jianguo said, delighted at his smart demeanor, "Tomorrow, uncle will take you to walk around Flower Street, okay? I’ll buy you lots of toys."

Qi Xiaoqi looked at Cheng Su.

Cheng Su said, "Let’s settle down first; we still need to make a courtesy visit to the Cheng family. Aren’t you going to the company?"

"No need," Qi Jianguo laughed. "Let’s rest first. Flower Street is open until New Year’s Eve. We’ll all go as a family. When is big brother coming over?"

Thinking of her husband, Cheng Su’s heart softened. She smiled and said, "Probably in the next couple of days!"

Qi Jianguo continued, "Okay then, Little Ping will be flying back tomorrow too. This girl even asked me to pick her up."

"Flying?" Mother Qi excitedly pulled him over and asked, "She’s flying now?"

"She said it’s too far, and flying is faster. She’s earned some pocket money from tutoring. I don’t care," Qi Jianguo shrugged.

"She shouldn’t spend recklessly," Father Qi interjected.

Mother Qi, brimming with enthusiasm, peppered her youngest son with questions. The kids were all doing well now, even the most troubling little daughter had made progress and could earn money. She finally felt relieved.

Seeing the lively conversation, Cheng Su went into the kitchen to boil some water, planning to prepare some formula for Qi Xiaoqi.

She went to her room, rummaged through the cabinet for blankets, and found they didn’t even have a musty smell, likely because they’d been aired out.

"Sister-in-law, I took advantage of sunny days to air out the blankets. I figured you hadn’t arrived yet, so I didn’t put on the covers to avoid dust," Qi Jianguo said, knocking on the door.

Cheng Su looked at the little uncle dressed in a jacket, sweater, and jeans, looking dashing. Compared to before, he seemed less rustic and more confident, prompting her to smile, "Thank you for that!"

"Oh, I’m just doing what I can. We’re family; no need to thank me," Qi Jianguo chuckled warmly.

Cheng Su felt satisfied in her heart. She didn’t mind her brother-in-law staying at her home; the most important thing was his gratitude, not taking things for granted. Qi Jianguo’s attitude made her quite pleased.
