Chapter 2077 - 2079: What Is the Truth

Chapter 2077 - 2079: What Is the Truth

To uncover Little Cheng Su’s background, Cheng Yaozu and the others would surely need to find Ning Ge, who had access to resources. But for the past two days, Ning Ge was not in the Capital, so they had to wait for his return.

The name Little Cheng Su was originally given by Cheng Su. To differentiate her, Old Master Cheng intentionally renamed the child using one character from his sister’s name, calling her Nianxin. She was registered into the household officially as Cheng Nianxin.

Perhaps it was due to the blood relationship; Little Nianxin quickly adapted to living in the Cheng family, feeling the care and love from everyone, and she was smiling more often.

Cheng Su felt somewhat emotional about this, realizing how truly intriguing blood relations could be.

Just as Cheng Yaozu was about to delve deeper into Little Nianxin’s background, Ning Ge, who possessed information about the killer named Mi Shaoan, suddenly showed up.

Cheng family.

"Good boy, we’ve been searching for you like crazy these past few days. Where have you been?" Cheng Yaozu jokingly punched Ning Ge.

Ning Ge’s expression was somewhat grave, with a hint of an inexplicable emotion.

"Has Chiang Qing been apprehended?" He first asked Cheng Su and Qi Taiguo.

Qi Taiguo nodded, "She’s in the hospital now; she’s awake but her statement hasn’t been recorded yet, still in intensive care."

Ning Ge frowned even deeper.

"What’s wrong?" Seeing his expression, Cheng Su felt an inexplicable sense of unease and tension, feeling rather stifled and uncomfortable.

"Grandpa." Little Nianxin ran downstairs, holding a folded paper boat for Old Master Cheng.

Ning Ge eyed this child, how did the Cheng family suddenly have a girl?

"Do you know who she is?" Cheng Yaozu pointed to her.

"Nianxin, the child Cheng Su sponsored, turned out to be the bloodline of my long-lost aunt. You see, isn’t it extraordinary? We’ve looked for my aunt for decades, never found her, and yet her bloodline was unknowingly fostered by Little Su. Isn’t it a remarkable coincidence?" Cheng Yaozu said proudly.

"What? She’s your aunt’s bloodline?" Ning Ge’s face turned even darker.

"Exactly!" Cheng Yaozu said, "It’s sheer coincidence how I and Su..." He recounted the story of how they found the child and eventually had Old Master Cheng see the photo and retrieve the child.

Ning Ge listened like he was hearing a tale, glancing at Cheng Nianxin and then Cheng Su. Was this some sort of fantastical story?

If all of this were true, then the truth he was about to reveal next would seem even more unbelievable, an extraordinary coincidence.

"Is she really your family’s child?" Ning Ge gulped.

Old Master Cheng said, "Absolutely true, the paternity test has already been conducted. If my parents didn’t have other children, then this child must be the descendant of my sister."

Ning Ge’s expression became complex.

Old Master Cheng told Nianxin to go back upstairs to play, then looked at Ning Ge and said, "Young Ge, the world is filled with such coincidences. I know you might not quite believe it, but these are the facts. Before this, I heard Little Su and the others had asked you to investigate a killer named Mi Shaoan. We’ve been looking for you these past few days because of this matter! Now, it’s not just Little Su’s matter anymore. Nianxin is my sister’s bloodline, and her background is something we need to clarify too. So, whatever you’ve found out, the resources can be shared with us, and we will take over the investigation."

Ning Ge let out a bitter smile; destiny truly has a way of playing jokes.

Looking at Cheng Su, then at everyone, he said, "There’s no need to investigate further, I’ve already found that hitman."

Found him?

Cheng Su’s heart suddenly raced, she sat up slightly; what, then, was the truth?
