Chapter 15
Chapter 15: Heart Vessel and Four Acupoints
The antique scroll and the inscribing pen all disappeared upon his waking up! Instead, a bloody gate appeared in the sea of his consciousness.
What an inconceivable thing! Was this the secret Master Lu mentioned before?
“If it were true, then this mysterious bloody gate suddenly appearing in my mind is my chance to defy God and change fate?”
Taking a deep breath, Lin Xun calmed himself down and recalled everything in his mind.
The mysterious scroll, the cyan inscribing pen…
Should Lin Xun guess right, the pen and the scroll were the treasures left by the heroic figure who ripped the blue sky, shook the universe and breached the Gate of Stars with a single strike.
The majestic figure, with a sigh of “Fate is not with me!”, flew away with a bronze coffin on his shoulder. The pen and scroll were originally buried in the bronze coffin, which for some unknown reason, came down to the mortal world.
Over those endless years, many legendary figures, including Master Lu, owned the pair of treasures for some time and tried to crack the secrets but failed, which could be proved by those bloody palm prints on the last page of the scroll.
Then they were handed to me…
At the thought of that, Lin Xun frowned suddenly and realized one thing, “Did I accidentally crack the secret in these two treasures by what I did last night?”
Pondering for a while, he realized that it might be the case. Last night, while his life was flowing away and his body uncontrollable, the cyan inscribing pen, as if waking up from a deep sleep, sketched endlessly with his blood as the ink over the weird pattern on the last page of the mysterious scroll.
Lin Xun was more than clear that the weird pattern was incomplete at first. But now the same intricate and mysterious pattern engraved on the surface of the bloody gate floating in the sea of his consciousness was complete!
“Does it mean that after I lost my consciousness, the cyan inscribing pen restored the weird pattern to its complete state, trigging some sort of change that turned the pen and the scroll into the bloody gate in the sea of my consciousness?”
Lin Xun had a faint feeling that his speculation was right, which was just too unbelievable for him to be sure.
Had anyone else known about this, he would be shocked by the meticulous and rigorous deductive logic demonstrated by Lin Xun, as it was not the usual wisdom a 13-year-old boy could possibly possess.
“Looks like if I want to be sure about my deduction, I’d have to figure out the secret of this bloody gate first.”
Lin Xun fell into deep thought, which you could tell directly from his pale and young face.
“Brother Lin, did you get up?”
Just then, a voice came from the courtyard, waking him from his meditation. Shaking his head, Lin Xun decided to leave it aside for the moment. He then pushed the door open and stepped out.
A villager was waiting in the courtyard. Lin Xun recognized him. It was Ying Hao, owner of 0.27 hectare of spiritual land.
“It’s you, Brother Ying. Sorry to keep you waiting.” Lin Xun just recalled that today was scheduled to eradicate pests for Ying Hao.
“Never mind. I just got here. I believe you haven’t eaten anything, brother Lin? Let’s go to my house and have some food first.” Ying Hao invited him warmly.
“Thanks, but let’s finish the work in spiritual lands first. Food can wait.” Lin Xun smiled and went back to the house to get some tools needed, then left with Ying Hao.
…
There were 4.6 hectares of spiritual lands in total in Feiyun Village, which were distributed among the villagers. All spiritual lands were planted with spiritual grains, which could mature twice a year should the weather permit.
Spiritual grains were an indispensable necessity for cultivation with the spiritual energy they contained.
It was well-known that the cultivation realm was divided into five levels, namely Martial Realm, Gang Spirit, Sea Spirit, Tao Insight and Reincarnation Developing.
For practitioners who didn’t break through to the Gang Spirit Realm, materials like spiritual grains were a must for their cultivation. Practitioners who ate spiritual grains all year round could not only provide sufficient power for their body but also improve physical fitness and strengthen their spirit.
Generally speaking, spiritual grains were the food needed by practitioners, which though not valuable, were indispensable.
There were not many practitioners in Feiyun Village, 9 in total, including Lian Rufeng. Therefore, only a small number of spiritual grains were needed. Most spiritual grains, after being harvested from the 4.6 hectares of spiritual lands were sold out in exchange for other daily supplies.
In the gentle morning breezes, a blazing sun rose from the horizon, casting golden lights over the whole village and bringing a layer of tranquility with it!
In the distance, there were numerous mountain ranges and peaks extending far out of sight.
Feiyun Village was undoubtedly a remote place locating in the “natural moat formed by three thousand mountains”. Villagers in it were like adherents of a former dynasty.
Perhaps even Ziyao Empire itself didn’t know that within the deep mountains of the southwest border there lay a village so small.
Taking out the cyan dagger and a piece of bone of a gold-eating mouse upon his arriving at Ying Hao’s spiritual land, Lin Xun stepped into the heart of the land.
Standing before the spiritual land, Ying Hao was waiting anxiously.
Fortunately, Lin Xun successfully carved a light-attracting spiritual tattoo that guided sunlight into the spiritual land and wiped out all pests.
Seeing all this, Ying Hao was too overjoyed to shut his mouth, continuously thanking Lin Xun on their way back to the village.
But he didn’t notice that Lin Xun’s expression was a bit strange, presenting a mixed feeling of surprise and joy.
“How could it be? A spiritual vortex?” Lin Xun pondered in heart. Right now, inside his body, traces of spirit energy circulated through his meridians and acupoints as usual. However, upon a closer inspection, he found that when his spirit energy came to the four acupoints, namely Xuanji, Huagai, Zigong and Yutang, in the center of his heart, it would turn into vortexes, working in a completely new way.
These four acupoints located in the center of the heart, forming a straight vessel from top down.
According to the distribution of meridians and collaterals throughout the body, these four acupoints located on the most central “governor vessel” of the human body, protecting the heart area from top to bottom.
Therefore, the section of meridians where these four acupoints located was called “heart vessel”, which together with the four acupoints were called Heart Vessel and Four Acupoints.
For common practitioners, the Heart Vessel and Four Acupoints were not of special significance or even ordinary, far less important than Baihui acupoint on the top of the head, Shenting acupoint on the forehead, and Qihai acupoint on the lower abdomen.
However, the Heart Vessel and Four Acupoints were of particular importance to Lin Xun as the Spiritual Vein born with him originally located here.
His Heart Vessel and Four Acupoints had been extremely sluggish and fragile since his Spiritual Vein was taken away. Every time he ran his spirit energy through here, it would become difficult and stuck as if it were in a swamp.
The most important part was that his Heart Vessel and Four Acupoints were not only sluggish but also so fragile that they would prevent the slightest chance of forceful breakthrough. Because if the vessel here broke, his heart hidden behind would be damaged too, which would result in a consequence too severe to bear.
All this was the severest injury left inside Lin Xun’s body since his Spiritual Vein was ripped away, which would be impossible to cure throughout his lifetime.
Lin Xun had been living with all this for the last 13 years, making him accustomed to it all. But today, something changed.
He had realized the difference when he was helping to eliminate pests in Ying Hao’s spiritual lands. The moment he began to inscribe the Light-attracting Spiritual Tattoo using his fingertip as the inscribing pen, bone meal of the gold-eating mice the ink, he noticed that when his spirit power came to the Heart Vessel and Four Acupoints, a new and unique change took place.
His spirit energy was no longer as sluggish as it used to be; instead, it turned into a spiritual vortex when it ran through Xuanji acupoint, which returned to normal after a fierce rotation. Then it continued to run through the heart vessel. When it got to Haugai acupoint, the same rotation recurred…
It kept going like this, not until the spirit energy circulated through Zigong acupoint and Yutang acupoint did it get back to its previous state.
This sort of circulation was too particular, which was a completely new change Lin Xun had never experienced before.
It was like four abyss-like swirls grew in his Heart Vessel and Four Acupoints. When spirit energy entered, it would circulate around the swirl before it got to the next vortex and returned to normal till it left the Heart Vessel and Four Acupoints.
When Lin Xun first noticed the change, he was shocked, doubting if he had made any mistakes in cultivation. Not until he was sure the change would not cause any harm did he feel relieved.
As he was then at the critical point of carving the Light-attracting Spiritual Tattoo, he couldn’t spare a minute to contemplate the matter. Now the pests were wiped out, he pondered over all this with full attention on his way back to the village.
“Spiritual vortexes? How did this happen?”
After long time of mediation, it suddenly dawned on him, “Does it have anything to do with the mysterious gate appearing in the sea of my consciousness?”
That must be it!
It was definitely not a coincidence that his spirit energy would turn into swirls while getting through his Heart Vessel and Four Acupoints just a short time after the bloody gate appeared in his mind this morning.
“Master Lu mentioned that if I crack the secret, I would be able to defy the God and change my fate. Is it happening now?”
At the thought of this, Lin Xun was taken over by an uncontrollable excitement.
He had been waiting for this day for too long!
