Beastmaster of the Ages

Chapter 3931 - Vows of Eternal Love Defeated by Social Hierarchy

Chapter 3931 - Vows of Eternal Love Defeated by Social Hierarchy

Saturatia-49 was a pale white maniverse-class world shrouded in a deep, misty barrier. The entire star was illuminated by a perpetual daylight of dazzling, dreamlike colors. It was a maniverse-class world ruled by the wonderians, a blessed land where only cosmic gods could reside. Not even quasi-cosmic gods were permitted to linger indefinitely on the vast white star.

Its mountains, rivers, and seas brimmed with the essence of maniverse-class nova source that was as pure white and clean as milk. Born of such a world, the wonderians there possessed innately pure divine particles, resulting in milky-white skin and stunning beauty, regardless of gender.

Recently, however, Saturatia-49 had fallen quiet. Their youngest generation of cosmic gods had largely left for the Ancient Flameyellow Ruins, while their parents, elders, and masters had gone into the upper layer.

When bored, those who remained would use tracking rings to follow the adventures of their descendants.

In one part of Saturatia-49 lay a sea of molten white magma. Its temperature was terrifyingly high, and blazing flames and bubbles constantly rose, spewing scorching white smoke. Even many maniverse-class artifacts would likely be incinerated to ash in such magma.

However, a single smooth and translucent sphere floated within the molten sea, completely still as if it had fused into the magma

Just then, a wonderian appeared above the magma, looking anxious and deeply frowning. He gravely reported, “Sacred Lord, terrible news has come from the Ancient Flameyellow Ruins.”

The floating sphere spun in response, revealing a perfectly round human head. It was eerie and surreal to only see an enormous head peeking out of the magma.

The spherical head spoke, its voice erupting like a volcano, “What?”

“The young master is dead,” the cosmic god replied.

“Which race did it?” asked the spherical head. The magma seethed as his body beneath the molten surface stirred, so vast it lit up the surrounding lands with blazing white daylight.

“It was a man from an orbiter world wearing a mask. He colluded with people from the Primordial Sands,” said the cosmic god.

“Has his identity been traced?” asked the spherical head.

“We’re investigating, but nothing’s definite yet.”

“Find his entire clan and exterminate them. When the orbiter worlds get confused about their place, it’s best to purge the rot. Otherwise the entire Upper Star Ruin will fall into chaos.”

The humanoid sphere spoke with icy disdain and turned back, continuing to float in the magma.

As for the young master’s death, he didn’t seem particularly grieved.

On Miracle Mountain was a vast cave. It was like a gaping abyssal mouth that swallowed one cosmic god genius after another. Black vines extended along its walls, continuously leaving dark energy and making for an eerie sight. Even the top young talents from maniverse-class worlds tread cautiously there, inching forward as they entered this mysterious place.

Gu Susu passed through the thick white mist and appeared at the entrance. After Tianming had left, she’d chosen to explore Miracle Mountain alone, hoping to clear the sorrow in her heart.

“The Ninelives Ancestral Tree they spoke of should be within this cave....” Her beautiful eyes scanned the cavern, still filled with melancholy.

“I just need to face life boldly and fearlessly, like before,” she whispered to herself, steeling her heart as she prepared to enter the Ninelives Cave.

A cold voice suddenly rang out behind her. “What’re you doing here?”

Gu Susu froze. Her body trembled as she turned and saw a young man dressed in black.

The young man’s face slightly paled and his gaze was cold, frowning as he looked at her.

“Can Nian....” That was his name. Known as Young Master Can Nian, he was of the Sin Pantheon from Myriadsin Capital. When they had been together, their differing status had drawn much skepticism. In the end, reality had confirmed the mockery: she had experienced betrayal, manipulation, and abandonment. Eventually, he had married into a royal lineage, tying himself to the nobility of Myriadsin Capital.

Gu Susu hadn’t meant to see him again. But in the small world of cosmic god geniuses, such encounters were inevitable. Gu Susu, as a second-level cosmic god at her age, was one of the most outstanding among the orbiter worlds.

She silently looked at Can Nian for a while before choosing to bow her head, softly saying, “I only came for experience. If you're here, I’ll leave.” With that, she turned to go, giving up on entering the Ninelives Cave. What was the point in lingering on the past?

But her wish to leave was hers alone. A group of Sin Pantheon geniuses arrived, laughing among themselves. Among them was a striking girl in a red dress, proud and radiant, walking with flair.

Yushen Hua possessed a royal lineage and was among the true aristocracy of the maniverse-class worlds.

Her gaze immediately fell on Gu Susu. “She’s here? Can Nian!” Her smiling face turned cold in an instant.

Her companions also frowned, casting suspicious looks at Can Nian. Was there still something unresolved?

“It’s just a coincidence. I’ll make her leave the Ancient Flameyellow Ruins immediately,” Can Nian said, lowering his head.

“Leave?” Yushen Hua sneered, then turned to Gu Susu. “The trouble your past caused me was enormous. I’ll give you a chance to end this embarrassing matter. Kill her and end it once and for all.”

Gu Susu, already in pain, felt her heart twist. She had been discarded, but now, even a simple encounter meant her very life was forfeit in the eyes of the noble children. She looked at Can Nian and he briefly met her gaze. Then, without hesitation, he turned to Yushen Hua and replied, “Of course.”

They didn’t speak like husband and wife, but subordinate and master. That was their reality. In order to climb the ladder of power, to elevate his clan, his family, humiliation was part of the cost Can Nian paid.

A Sin Pantheon member once publicly romancing a girl from an orbiter world had always been a joke. Now that he had a bright future ahead, that past needed to be erased.

Vows of eternal love had been defeated by the chains of hierarchy.

When he nodded without hesitation, Gu Susu closed her eyes. Tears welled up as she could only suffer the absurdity in silence.
