Beastmaster of the Ages

Chapter 4017 - Etiquette of a Guest

Chapter 4017 - Etiquette of a Guest

Quite a number of people from the Primordial Sands had discovered the million little beastballs and thought themselves to be the first to spot them. Yin Chen led Tianming and his group along the way.

"The little beastballs showed up again. Why’s that Mushan Xue woman still hiding?" Ying Huo asked, perched on Tianming's shoulder.

"She didn't even show up after I took out a huge chunk of Miracle Mountain, so I doubt she'd show up over the little beastballs or ninelives fruits," Tianming said.

"Those things should all belong to her, right? She might not be happy whether it's the Eightpart Pantheons or Primordial Sands doing the taking," Ji Ji said.

"Since she didn't step out to stop us, she must have her own considerations. Maybe she can't even use all the ninelives fruits or little beastballs for herself. Either way, we have to at least make sure that the Eightpart Pantheons don't leave with the fruits," Tianming said.

"What about the little beastballs?" Ying Huo asked.

"Those things are sentient. If they don't want to follow the disciples of the Primordial Sands, we can't make them." Tianming couldn't manage to control all the ninelives fruits, so there was nothing he could do about those. However, he still had to treat the little beastballs with some care.

Speaking of which, he could already hear the chirping sounds of the little beastballs. He entered a quiet passageway that led to a cave filled with many of the little critters. There were more than a thousand young disciples from the Primordial Sands near the entrance of the cave, their heights uneven, blocking the entrance of the cave. They seemed rather excited and were trying to capture the little beastballs with their cosmic artifacts.

Even though they weren't as forceful as the Eightpart Pantheons, their actions still caused the little beastballs to cry out for help and huddle together in an attempt to hide. They seemed to be cursing at the young cosmic gods with displeased expressions on their faces. Around ten thousand of them had already been captured, all of which were pitifully crying out, trapped within cosmic artifacts.

"We need more people here!"

"A million galaxy-class orders?! That's insane! How many powerful elites do you think these things can help create back at the Primordial Sands?!"

Three galaxy-class orders had been enough to cause quite a huge commotion at the Middlekin Star Ruin, let alone a whole million. Tianming immediately spotted a seventh-level cosmic god ranked genius. He was clad in dark green armor that matched his inky green eyes. The green glow from his body made him look like a universe of forests, brimming with vibrant life. He stood seven hundred meters tall and contained massive amounts of cosmoforce with a cold, but handsome face to match.

"Who’s he?" Tianming asked.

"Pu Lingyi," Jiang Feifei said.

The man turned toward them and smiled. "Jiang Feifei, you came at just the right time. We discovered something amazing!" He then noticed Tianming and the others and slightly tilted his head. "Do we have guests?"

"He’s one of the descendants of the flameyellow people of Miracle Mountain, Lin Feng," Jiang Feifei introduced Tianming.

"Brother Lin," Pu Lingyi said, stretching out his hand with a smile.

Tianming shook his hand and said, "Brother Pu, can you put a halt to this for now?"

Pu Lingyi's smile immediately vanished. With a pensive look, he asked, "What do you mean?"

"The little beastballs belong to my people. They’re sentient lifeforms that contain the caeli and orders of my ancestors. It’s a really important legacy to us. Can you not ship them around and transport them like they’re mere objects?" Tianming pointed outside and continued, "Instead, I suggest that all of you start harvesting all those ninelives fruits."

Pu Lingyi furrowed his brow. "You should know that the value of these little beastballs far outstrips that of the ninelives fruits. A ninelives fruit can only help one person become a cosmic god, while these little beastballs can strengthen countless generations of cultivators."

"I don’t dispute that. However, this is our land. It's one thing to pick some fruits from a tree at a friend's house, but it's a different story to take away the precious ancestral beasts that’ve been with us for countless generations," Tianming sternly said.

Pu Lingyi fell silent and the other excited disciples also began to look displeased.

Jiang Feifei said, "Brother Lin’s right. This behavior isn’t appropriate at all. Pu Lingyi, let's go pick ninelives fruits instead."

Pu Lingyi turned to look at the little beastballs again and said, "Your words make sense. However, how are you able to prove that you’re indeed the owner of this place?"

Tianming didn't even answer and walked toward the little beastballs. He stretched his hand out and a large bunch of them intimately huddled around him. "Is this proof enough?"

Pu Lingyi grit his teeth; his excitement from before was completely dampened.

"Pu Lingyi, please respect and uphold the etiquette of a guest," Lin Chaoge said.

Given that both Lin Chaoge and Jiang Feifei had made their views heard, Pu Lingyi pondered for a moment and smiled. "Brother Lin, apologies for my rudeness. You’re right."

Tianming waved off the apology. "It's all good. Brother Pu, I can't blame you for something you were unaware of."

"That's right. I hope you don’t fault me for that." Pu Lingyi had his thousand subordinates release the captured little beastballs. "Brother Lin, do you wish to work with us to fight the Eightpart Pantheons?"

"Yes," Tianming said.

"That's great!" Pu Lingyi turned to the other two. "Please take care of our friend well."

"But of course," Lin Chaoge said. "If not for Brother Lin's advice, we would've suffered heavy losses against the Eightpart Pantheons. We wouldn't even have a chance to harvest ninelives fruits."

"That's true. Alright then, we'll start harvesting the fruits instead."

"I'll see you again," Tianming said.

The other thousand actually dared to start complaining in hushed voices before they went out of earshot.

"That's enough!" Pu Lingyi said, shutting them up.

Jiang Feifei said, "Brother Lin, I hope you don't hold it against us."

"It's fine." Tianming pointed at the cave with little beastballs and said, "I’ll stay here for now. Go ahead and join them. I'll let you know if something changes."

"Alright." Jiang Feifei smiled. "I hope the matter of little beastballs doesn't affect our relationship."

"Don't worry. As long as everything going forward is done without any ill will, I’ll also continue acting in good faith."
