Chapter 4055 - Eternity Variant

In another fortress near the defense line set up at the entrance to the Primordial Sands were thirty thousand devas. They named the place Imperial Descent Fort, which was basically where the imperials had landed. In the Upper Star Ruin, the word 'imperial' was related to imperial-class worlds and imperial lineages, denoting the most elite people within the Eightpart Pantheons and the universe, the ultimate rulers! Around a hundred devas were waiting outside the fort for a key figure after receiving word of their impending arrival.

"Imperial Lady!" Many people respectfully chanted as the doors to the fort opened and let in white mist.

"Eternity variant...." The devas could see a thousand-meter-tall cosmic goddess through the mist with a perfectly sculpted figure, incredible beauty, and noble air. She looked like a universe of purity, outshining everyone. She was a descendant of the ultimate imperial bloodlines of the Eightpart Pantheons, the true elites of the universe. Nobody could rival them in status.

"Imperial Lady, please go to Blackscatter Fort to slay those three rats, we beseech you!" The devas all respectfully knelt, keeping their gazes lowered. The three rats were what the newcomers from the Eightpart Pantheons called Tianming and the others. They were rats that normally remained hidden and undetected, only to appear from time to time to rile people up into trying to kill them.

However, nothing answered their desperate plea. They looked up and noticed that the white woman had already vanished before their eyes.

"The imperial lady treads the path of eternity and comes and goes without a trace. Even if those three rats were prepared, they definitely won't be able to feel her descent!"

"The reason the seniors asked the folks from Blackscatter to remain to fight must be because the imperial lady was nearby...."

"Let's see. There shouldn't be any problems anymore."

"Are the reinforcements here yet?" Tianming asked Yin Chen, feeling a bit worn out from the nonstop killing.

"I don't... see any!" Yin Chen said, feeling that it was odd as well. If there were no reinforcements, there was no way the devas would keep fighting. However, its many bodies hadn't detected anyone approaching.

"The death toll will soon reach six thousand. We’ve already achieved our goal of drawing their hate and collecting food for Eighth. Let's go!" Tianming said, deciding not to linger. He had Moran store the dead cosmic god essences in the mirror. No doubt, that would be the most effective way to provoke the Eightpart Pantheons.

The devas had summoned their hell ghouls, only to have been killed before the ghouls could retreat through their hell-rings. As such, the ghouls were trapped within the cosmic god essences as well. They could eventually leave through the hell-rings, but only one tiny bit at a time by squeezing through it, so they wouldn't be gone anytime soon. Eighth could feast on them before that happened.

It wasn’t long before they had finished dealing with the aftermath. The remaining three thousand devas from Blackscatter were stunned by the sheer bloodbath and stood in the distance, looking at Tianming and the rest, shellshocked.

"Let's go!" Tianming told Zi Zhen after meeting up with Moran.

"Got it," Zi Zhen said as she tore apart the last specter. Her current form showed the devas what a perfect specter was like, much to their terror. She relaxed a little and headed Tianming's way, only to suddenly feel a threat from behind! It was something that neither Tianming nor Yin Chen had expected!

With a blinding white flash behind Zi Zhen, a thousand-meter-tall cosmic goddess, dignified, proud, and cold appeared. She was a deva, but she seemed completely sacred and inviolable. Her domineering aura covered the entire battlefield.

"Careful!" Tianming cried before rushing toward Zi Zhen, who turned back only to see the goddess thrust a white lance at her. She turned her Multifarious Variant into a shield to defend against it, but the lance pierced through and even dug into her chest!

"Puny rat." The female specter smirked and twisted her hand, sending a powerful white storm that ravaged Zi Zhen's entire body! She exploded into a flurry of fireworks and turned into her essence form—the white specter was far too powerful! Tianming couldn't bear to see Zi Zhen suffer such a huge loss without so much as being able to fight back.

"Yin Chen!" Countless silver insects surrounded Zi Zhen's cosmic god essence. At the same time, Tianming glared at the specter and tossed a pink ball toward her. Ji Ji had finished recharging at the Sun and it’d also grown as Tianming had! The pink ball suddenly exploded before her eyes.

"Imperial Lady, watch out!" some devas cried, recalling that the pink ball was what Tianming had used to break the grand divine wonder formation before, but it was too late. The resounding explosion emanated boundless pink light all over, unleashing so much force between the goddess and Zi Zhen's essence that it pushed both of them apart.

Yin Chen shielded Zi Zhen with its many bodies before the explosion. After that, Tianming picked the essence up and left with Moran. The terrifying blow had destroyed the entire black fortress, but he didn't even bother checking whether or not the imperial lady had been injured. It was more important to bring Zi Zhen out of danger.

"Are you okay?" Tianming asked as he left.

"No!" she snapped.

"What's wrong?"

"I feel miffed! I want revenge!" Zi Zhen's voice contained limitless fury.

"Ugh...." Tianming knew that she was truly pissed off. It would be a terrifying sight to behold.
