Chapter 4258 - Nullity Guild
Chapter 4258 - Nullity Guild
"So naggy," Tianming said before entering the Inverse Battlefield again.
Mu Qingqing quickly followed behind, looking at him with a manic look. As her lips curved into a smile, she thought, even though he sounds stubborn, he's filled with a strong sense of justice deep down and actually cares about his friends and family... She had liked him a hundred thousand years ago, but seeing him like this again, smaller and wilder, she liked him even more. Soon, they returned to the gray continent of the Inverse Battlefield where darkness endlessly stretched.
"Let's go to the Dongshen Arena." Tianming had Yin Chen lead the way. The two traveled without any urgency on the back of Lan Huang, who was the beast that wanted the most to be a mount for it loved to run wildly and freely. Lan Huang crashed through many mountains and boulders as it advanced. Right before Mu Qingqing was sent flying from the bumpy ride, Tianming pulled her down and gave her a good look. Nestled in his embrace, her pale-white cheeks flushed slightly red.
"You're rather pretty, much like gentle waters in the night," Tianming said.
Her lips parted. "Then you..."
"But when I think of what you're called, I instantly lose interest."
"Hmph." She glared at him. There was no point in changing her name even if she could. "Suit yourself."
She knew that it wouldn't be easy trying to restore their old relationship on top of removing all influence of Tianming's negative experiences in the Vermillion Bird Kingdom, but she was satisfied with their current state. At the very least, they had made lots of progress since they first reunited.
After some time, Tianming could see a massive black castle ahead with walls that stood a hundred thousand meters in height. It looked like a massive black beast, perched on top of the Inverse Battlefield. "It's tens of times larger than the previous fortress."
"This fortress is something Nullity built some time ago to defend a Chaos Star Ruin. With the ruin completely mined out, the fortress was abandoned for others to take. Eventually, it was developed into a city where one could bet their lives. All sorts of daredevils are drawn to it," Mu Qingqing said somewhat listlessly.
"Did your brother and the rest go missing here?" Tianming asked.
"Yes."
Right before Tianming said anything, Yin Chen said, "There's someone... in there... who's called... Yueling Momo..."
"What about this person?" Tianming asked.
"There was... a mention... of some... missing persons..." Yin Chen had grown so much that it was able to spread much farther and wider than before, having no trouble in the Realm of Chaos. Before Tianming even arrived, it had spread all throughout the Dongshen Arena, picking up every hushed whisper in the fortress.
"Are you saying that Yueling Momo might know about this incident?" The fact that it had remained so secretive at all meant that some powerful faction was behind all this. If not for Yin Chen, they might've struggled to find any lead. Nullity wasn't that powerful of a faction in the Inverse Battlefield, after all.
"Most likely," Yin Chen said.
Its analyses were often accurate, so Tianming trusted it completely. "Alright." Mu Qingqing had helped him a lot by bringing him here, so he would help her out if it was something he could do. "How powerful is he?"
"He's one... of the... top elites... in here... and a... backstage mastermind," Yin Chen said.
"Alright, keep looking into it. I'll enter the city now," Tianming said. He had Lan Huang return to the lifebound space and stood at the massive entrance of the fortress.
The walls were worn and scuffed, with traces of astral blood still visible on it, making it seem like a city of evils. It had an atmosphere that matched Xi Xi rather well. However, the tiny gray infant only needed a look at it to be spooked back into the lifebound space. "It's very scary... I think there's a lot of scary people in there..."
Tianming facepalmed at the thought of the most terrifying summoner of the ghoul army being such a scaredy cat. Though, Xi Xi wasn't mistaken that this was a dangerous place. Before Tianming even entered, he saw many unkind glances from the walls, none of them well intentioned.
"It's the Skyplunder imperial son!" someone yelled.
"The older or younger one?"
"The younger, white-haired one!"
Hearing that, everyone in the fortresses immediately stopped preparing for the worst.
"Why did that undying turtle come to a place where bets are placed on lives?"
"He has skypole stars, so he can't make any bets at all. Is he just here to watch?"
"Who cares? It's not like he's not allowed to come here."
"Let's see what he looks like!"
"Didn't you hear about the new Chaos Star Ruin?"
Discussions erupted throughout the whole arena. As Tianming and Mu Qingqing stepped into it, many sinister gazes from dark corners followed them closely. Mu Qingqing was quite experienced with all this and ignored the looks. "In Nullity, we have a Nullity Guild. Its purpose is to help those of us who have nowhere else to go. Let's go there to meet some of our people first, alright?"
"Sure thing," Tianming said. As long as he would get to fight here, it didn't matter where he went.
