Chapter 758: Three Generations of Volkov
Chapter 758: Three Generations of Volkov
Amphitrite had finally stopped asking for more.
The ancient Mermaid Queen lay completely boneless across the enormous bed, her naked body half-buried beneath ruined sheets while the aftermath of twelve exhausting rounds surrounded them.
“Haaaa…”
A long, utterly satisfied sigh escaped her lips.
Her pink hair had become an absolute mess, damp strands sticking to her cheeks, neck and swollen breasts. The beautiful sapphire scales scattered across her hips and thighs had lost their earlier brilliance, carrying only a faint blue shimmer as Amphitrite lazily stretched one leg across Nikolai’s waist.
She didn’t even possess enough strength to lift her head.
Nikolai stared at her.
‘She’s finally satisfied…’
It had taken twelve fucking times.
Whether Amphitrite had subconsciously decided she required one round for every child or her ridiculous pregnancy hormones simply worked that way, Nikolai didn’t know.
He wasn’t going to ask.
His own body felt completely drained.
Amphitrite’s bedroom smelled overwhelmingly of them: sweat, that strange sweet-ocean fragrance pouring from her skin, sex, and the faint creamy scent of milk that still occasionally leaked from her swollen breasts.
Yet somehow, the Mermaid Queen looked happier than he’d seen her in months.
Rather, it didn’t look like she’d just been destroyed for the past few hours at all. Her cheeks shone with an unnatural glossy sheen; her eyes remained bright and filled with focus and light…
She glanced up at him with her blue eyes half closed and a lazy, yet decadent smirk on her swollen lips.
“Baby~”
“Hm…? What’s the matter?”
“Mmmm…..”
Instead of answering, Amphitrite shuffled closer until her soft belly rested against his side, then buried her face into his chest.
Nikolai automatically wrapped an arm around her.
That earned another contented sigh.
“How can you be so good~ Ah…. I can’t help but feel happy,” she whispered in an almost euphoric tone.
“…well, as long as you’re satisfied.”
“V-E-R-Y!”
“Good…”
Her fingertips weakly traced his abdomen, drawing slow circles, sliding up towards his neck covered in her swollen kiss marks.
“I was worried I might die. You became so intense…. Fufu.”
“Don’t joke about that…! “Nikolai met her gaze before shaking his head.
“You’re the one who couldn’t move after round nine.”
“Mhm…”
“And then demanded three more.”
“I don’t remember that.”
“You absolutely remember.”
Amphitrite’s smile widened, but she didn’t bother arguing. Instead, she pressed her lips against his chest, slowly savouring the sensation before settling beneath his arm again.
“Hmph… I really wish you didn’t have to leave…”
Her cute complaint rang in his mind several times, becoming like a cursed echo before his lips curled into a deep smile.
Nikolai’s palm gradually wandered down her back, following the warm rise of her waist until he reached her hip. This time Amphitrite didn’t shudder or immediately become aroused.
It was clear she was spent, even with the boost of being pregnant.
A fully satisfied woman.
Content in her lover’s arms as she rested her eyes and weary body.
‘Finally.’
He found himself almost rejoicing at the achievement.
Then his attention drifted towards her belly.
Beneath the softened flesh of her belly, twelve tiny lives rested safely inside the strange protective membranes of her womb, each one now surrounded by traces of his Obsidian Tide.
‘It seems that I went a little overboard…’
Originally the little sacs appeared translucent, but now each one was dark, opaque and completely enveloped by his energies.
‘Well, at least my children are safe… but twelve is a bit much.’
Nikolai’s expression gradually softened as he began slowly rubbing her stomach, letting his fingers sink faintly into her soft flesh.
Amphitrite groaned, but didn’t complain, instead humming the longer his hands moved.
“Mhm… that’s so good.”
She covered his hand with hers, a serene smile on her face.
‘So beautiful!?’
There were no traces of seduction or the usual plotting Amphitrite displayed; it was just pure… unadulterated affection.
“Our babies are sleeping inside… they seem relieved that their papa also adores them…”
Amphitrite’s cheeks immediately turned pink as she turned away, maybe realising how differently she was acting, but the mermaid queen didn’t change her words.
Nikolai, on the other hand, just stared at the ethereal beauty, pregnant with his children and smirked smugly.
‘…I’m a lucky bastard.’
Time passed with each breath, and like that, 2 hours vanished.

“I really don’t want to leave you, Amphi…”
“Fufu, don’t look so upset. It’s fine… you’ve already given me everything! Father-in-law and grandfather are waiting for you. Go! Go!!”
Amphitrite waved him away from beneath the blankets, though the way she hugged one of his pillows against her chest ruined whatever dignity the gesture might have possessed.
Nikolai stared at her for another moment.
Her pink hair remained scattered everywhere, her cheeks still glowing with that strangely healthy lustre while one naked shoulder peeked from beneath the sheets.
‘She’s definitely going to fall asleep the moment I leave.’
Almost on cue, Amphitrite yawned.
“See you later.”
“Mhm… come back safely, darling.”
Something about those words remained with Nikolai as he closed the door.
The atmosphere outside felt different immediately.
His body still carried Amphitrite’s scent despite the shower he’d taken before leaving her room, but each step through the mansion gradually pushed the previous hours further into the back of his mind.
The smile upon Nikolai’s face slowly morphed into a stern grimace as he thought of the future: facing Alucard, the strike force and the island.
‘Right…’
Nikolai rolled his shoulders.
His relaxed expression slowly disappeared.
By the time he reached the older section of the estate, the familiar pressure of responsibility had already returned.
The room Ivan normally used wasn’t technically an office.
At least, that was what his father insisted.
Nikolai had always considered that complete bullshit.
Three enormous bookshelves covered the walls from floor to ceiling, filled with old records, leather-bound journals and enough military history to murder any normal person’s enthusiasm for reading. A long table occupied the centre, while another smaller table beside the window carried several bottles of alcohol.
‘This room never changes…’
This might’ve been the place Nikolai felt most at home in the entire mansion after his wife’s rooms. He spent so many hours just reading and chatting away with his father that it almost felt like he’d returned to his student days.
One particular dark bottle immediately caught Nikolai’s attention.
‘Blood whiskey.’
Of course.
He pushed open the door.
Ivan sat beside the table with his injured torso wrapped beneath a loose black shirt, one hand holding an old report while the other rested around a heavy glass.
Viktor occupied the chair opposite him.
The old Patriarch looked far more comfortable than Nikolai expected, one ankle resting across his opposite knee while his fingers slowly turned another glass between them.
Neither man immediately looked up.
It was obvious to Nikolai that his father and grandfather knew exactly where he’d been and the reason for his tardiness.
“…You’re late,” Ivan said.
Nikolai glanced towards the clock.
“Ah… shit! Forgive me, Father… Grandfather…”
Ivan shifted his gaze from the report to his son for less than a fraction of a second, his face remaining stern as he saw him. “You’re still late; stop wasting time.”
Viktor’s lips twitched slightly.
“Sit down before the two of you start measuring whose skull is thicker.”
Nikolai pulled out the remaining chair.
The moment he sat, Ivan’s nose twitched.
Nikolai froze.
“…What?”
Ivan continued staring at him.
Viktor lifted his whiskey and drank without saying anything.
“What?” Nikolai repeated.
His father’s expression slowly became unpleasant.
“You couldn’t shower twice?”
“…”
Nikolai looked down at himself.
‘If I showered, I’d have taken even longer!’
Viktor coughed into his fist, but he didn’t speak further and instead covered his face with a thick tome covered in dust and claw marks.
“…Grandfather.”
“???”
“Stop laughing at me…”
“W-Who is laughing?! You cheeky little pup! I am reading.”
Ivan pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Your meeting with Amphitrite clearly went well.”
Nikolai immediately reached for the whiskey.
“Can we discuss literally anything else?”
Viktor finally chuckled.
The sound was surprisingly warm.
“Leave the boy alone, Ivan. At least one Volkov spent his afternoon productively.”
Ivan slowly turned towards his father.
“Father.”
“Y-Yes, Son?” Viktor stuttered at the intense gaze of his son, speaking as if the world might end at any moment.
“If you faced Elizabeth, you’d never… Ahem! No, forget what I said and let’s focus.”
For several minutes, things remained strangely ordinary.
Nikolai drank.
Ivan pushed several older reports towards him.
Viktor occasionally corrected a date or pointed towards handwritten notes left by previous patriarchs.
It reminded Nikolai of earlier months, when he could sit in this room for hours studying supernatural history while his father complained about everything he misunderstood.
Only now were the books not theoretical, and he needed this information to survive the future conflict.
Nikolai’s eyes gradually settled upon a faded photograph resting between several documents.
Alucard.
The image appeared decades old.
Yet the bastard looked almost identical.
“…How many times has our family fought him?”
Ivan’s glass stopped halfway towards his mouth.
“Directly?”
“Mhm.”
“Not many.”
“But their damn clan has always been at odds with ours. Maybe we’ll discover the reason once you beat some sense into their damn leader,” Viktor complained while sipping his drink, complaining like a rambling old man.
He no longer needed to uphold the image of Patriarch, so Viktor’s atmosphere when with Nikolai or Ivan became rather calm and at ease.
That surprised Nikolai.
Ivan placed the glass down.
“Alucard rarely fights personally unless something interests him. He manipulates others, creates divisions, waits until both sides exhaust themselves and then appears when the result already favours him.”
Viktor nodded slowly. “Yes, if we knew of his true combat power, why would we send our beloved grandson to fight him?”
“Shush, Father!”
“Hah…? Why do you pretend to hide it? You were the one who kept these things from Nikolai, to protect him until he comes of age. Those were your words…. not mine!”
Nikolai silently listened to his father and grandfather speaking, because the information they glossed over carelessly could mean a huge deal for him, who lacked such deep and bountiful information about the real world.
‘I see… I have much to learn still.’
