Chapter 782: You’re Not Going Alone, Darling!
Chapter 782: You’re Not Going Alone, Darling!
Nikolai remained seated in the silent meeting room after everything ended.
‘It’s good that everything came together.’
When he first stepped into the room, Nikolai expected resistance.
Not that he blamed them for their response, when common consensus believed Volkov and the Moonlight Alliance would remain victorious no matter what.
The elder who argued most took on the role of captain and promised to support Lucianna. Alexei and Ryan left to prepare the three hundred men to leave, while Vernan disappeared on another errand for Nikolai.
Nikolai raised his eyes from the documents sprawled across the table. He rested his chin atop his palms with a smile at the two women standing opposite him.
“So you both wanted to… No, insisted on joining the assault? No matter what I do or say?”
His first gaze focused on the beautiful, yet battle-ready werewolf with snow-white hair tied into a short, little bun, leaving a few strands dangling beside her cheeks. She only wore a tight black bodysuit with a military-grade vest and short shorts.
Beside her was a glamorous blonde, with vibrant red eyes and long lashes. Unlike the werewolf, the vampire wore a pair of tight black pants, a white vest and a thick, woolen trench coat for males, with shoulder pads fitted on either side.
‘She’s wearing my favourite jacket…’
“You know the answer, so why bother asking, darling?” Selene raised both arms in the air after shrugging at his accusatory tone.
“Heh, babe, why are you staring at my ass? Is it that good in these pants?”
Nikita seemed more interested in his lingering gaze.
He lifted his chin before meeting her eyes. “Well…” His smirk grew wider. “I can’t deny it makes me want to throw you over the desk and make our fourth child…” Nikolai said in a gruff, deep tone.
“Ah….!?”
Nikita struggled to respond, the hairs on the back of her neck standing up at Nikolai’s blunt and honest response.
His eyes narrowed at the sight of her reaction to his words. “How about it?”
“…Y-You’re such a cheater!”
“Don’t fall for his little trick, Nikita.”
“Eh, what do you mean?” she asked, halfway to crawling onto the table with her bodysuit half unzipped down the front.
Selene covered her face and sighed. “Stupid dog! Think for a moment… why can’t we just fuck him senseless every single day after we defeat Alucard and bring peace to the city?”
“Ah?!”
‘Damn it.’
The sudden realisation seemed to awaken Nikita from Nikolai’s trick.
“Ah?! You bastard, I knew it!”
Nikita’s golden eyes widened as she looked between Nikolai and Selene, her cheeks turning an even brighter shade of red. She zipped up her bodysuit before folding both arms beneath her chest.
“You were trying to trick me!”
“Well…” Nikolai shrugged with a shameless grin. “It almost worked. Another few seconds, and we’d have been making that fourth child, babe.”
“Y-You!”
Selene couldn’t help laughing at the flustered werewolf. Although they had spent years fighting and vying for Nikolai’s affection, seeing Nikita acting like a love-struck fool was still rather amusing.
However, her smile faded when Nikolai leaned back into his chair.
“Alright, enough joking around.”
“…”
Both women looked towards him.
His gaze lingered on Nikita before shifting towards Selene, who stood with her hands tucked into the pockets of his favourite coat.
“Do you understand what you’re asking me to do?”
“Of course, darling.”
“No, don’t be cute, Selene. I’m dead serious here.”
Thud!
Selene slammed her palm on the wooden desk, creating dozens of thin cracks tracing the surface around Nikolai.
“So am I!”
The vampire’s reply came without hesitation.
Nikolai raised his elbow from the desk with a sigh. Their intense determination didn’t surprise him. If anything, it’d be the opposite. In fact, after everything they’d experienced together, it would have been stranger if either woman accepted being left behind without trying.
‘Here we go…’
Nikita wasn’t some powerless woman. She was a Fenrir. A warrior who had spent most of her life training to become stronger, to lead her people even before he awakened or they became lovers.
And Selene was no different as the heiress to the Tepes Royal vampire bloodline.
Not to mention she was a stubborn woman.
“Look, I know you’re both strong, and that you’ve been training each day without me. But after what happened in Al’Qutar and the Outpost… Both of you should understand the level of danger Alucard poses…”
“Neither do you,” Selene replied.
“…”
“What? Am I wrong?”
Nikolai couldn’t answer because she was right.
Even now, he didn’t know what other ridiculous experiments the mad scientist had prepared.
What kind of monsters waited inside his laboratories?
Could he defeat them for sure?
‘Fuck…’
Nikolai scratched his head.
“That’s exactly why I don’t want you two taking unnecessary risks.”
Nikita approached the table and placed both hands on the cracked surface, leaning forward until her golden eyes and soft lashes were a few inches from his face. “Hey, honey~ Do you really think I’m that weak?”
He didn’t even flinch at her provocation.
“Of course not.”
She shifted her palm from the table and placed it on his face, sliding her hips onto his thigh while stroking his cheek. “Then why not?”
Nikolai shook his head. “Because you’re my wife and the mother of my children?”
Nikita’s fluffy ears twitched as she pinched his cheek, smiling at his response. “Such a wonderful husband, but you mean just as much to us~ So we can’t just let you go alone, alright, honey?”
He wasn’t trying to belittle her.
After all, Nikita was one of the few women in his harem capable of fighting beside him without becoming a burden. But knowing that didn’t make the thought of losing her again any easier.
‘Fuck, I am a selfish little bastard.’
He wanted to keep them safe even if it meant leaving them behind, worrying while he risked his own life.
Nikita stared into his eyes in silence before she leaned closer and kissed him. For several seconds, she slid her tongue across his lips, leaving trails of saliva before biting down a moment later.
“Then what about you?”
“Ha?”
Her sarcastic tone irritated him a little.
He also wanted to punish her for taking advantage of him with a sudden kiss.
“You’re my husband, Nikolai.”
Her voice lowered, becoming more gentle.
“And you’re their father.”
“…”
“Do you think I want to spend the next few days worrying whether you’ll come home? Wondering if some disgusting vampire has killed you while I’m sitting in our bedroom doing nothing?”
‘It’s that strange feeling again…’
Sometimes Nikita’s atmosphere would change from that of a playful and flirty wolf to a sensual and intelligent werewolf.
Her fingers spread through his hair as she glanced down at his face.
Nikolai’s lips parted as if to speak, but he couldn’t find the words to respond while she squeezed his face.
“I don’t want to lose you either, foolish male.”
‘Ah…’
Neither of them was angry with him. Behind their stubborn expression was the same fear he’d been struggling with since waking up that morning. In his moment of pause, Selene approached them and stood beside Nikita. Her plump figure dwarfed the small werewolf sat atop his lap.
“Also, unlike this stupid dog, I have another reason for wanting to accompany you.”
“H-Hah?!”
“Shut up, Nikita.”
“Hmmmph…!”
Nikita and Selene shared a strange glance before turning back towards Nikolai.
“Have you forgotten who I am?”
“…My beautiful wife?”
Her red eyes narrowed.
“Darling.”
“Hahaha! Fine, fine.”
Nikolai raised both hands.
“You’re the princess of Tepes.”
“Exactly, Darling. I cannot forgive what those bastards did to my sister, let alone my father.”
Selene smiled.
“Well, not to mention that although the Nosferatu have little connection to my family or me, they’re part of our royal vampire lineage…”
She paused before adding.
“And after everything you’ve given me, my blood is stronger than it has ever been. Thus, I am the only current member of my clan who can mete out punishment to those who broke the sacred agreement between our clans.”
Nikolai lowered his head.
‘That’s true…’
The women had become powerful over the past several months, especially with their increased amount of nightly fun. Nikita enjoyed an explosive growth in the short time after losing the outpost.
Not only because sex with him improved their bloodlines and bodies.
Nikita and Selene had spent a considerable amount of time teaching the other wives their techniques, allowing them to develop abilities that should have been impossible for their respective races.
Once again, his gaze shifted between the pair of sexy women.
‘When I think about it… this reminds me of the beginning.’
These two might have more rights to join the assault team than even he did. He chewed on the inside of his lips while thinking.
“What about the children?”
Eventually, Selene released a slow breath. “I’ve spoken with mother-in-law. She gave her acceptance, and that powerful woman will remain, along with Kumiko and the other wives. Just to put your mind at ease, we all gathered and voted on who would join you.”
She stepped closer until she stood beside his chair.
“Our children won’t be alone, darling.”
“…I know.”
“Then trust them…”
Nikolai raised his eyes, meeting her gaze.
Selene smiled with the softest smile before reaching out and brushing a few strands of hair away from his forehead.
“Just as we’re asking you to trust us.”
‘Fuck.’
Why did these women always know the exact thing to say?
He’d spent the entire morning worrying about S-City, only for Kumiko to remind him that he didn’t need to protect everything alone.
And now…
Nikita and Selene were telling him the same thing.
‘Maybe I’m the stupid one.’
Nikolai closed his eyes for a moment before releasing a long sigh.
“Fine.”
“Eh?”
Nikita’s ears perked up.
Selene’s hand stopped moving.
“…Darling?”
“I said fine. You can both join the assault team.”
“Really?!”
Nikita almost jumped onto the table.
“However!”
His sudden shout made her freeze.
Nikolai looked between the two women.
“You’re joining as warriors, not because you’re my wives. If I give you an order, you follow it as if you are my men, not my wives.”
Selene nodded in an instant.
“Naturally.”
“And neither of you gets to rush off alone because you think I’m in danger or something goes wrong, I won’t allow it!”
“…”
Nikita looked away and whistled to herself.
“Oi!”
“I heard you, babe!”
“Then look at me!”
Nikolai sighed.
“Hmph!”
‘This fucking woman…’
Selene laughed before squeezing his shoulder.
“Don’t worry. I’ll keep an eye on her.”
“Who’ll keep an eye on you?”
“…”
The vampire’s smile stiffened.
Nikita burst out laughing.
“Hahaha! That’s right! You were the one who almost went crazy the last time something happened to him!”
“S-Stupid dog!”
“Bloodsucking bitch!”
“Enough!”
Nikolai grabbed both women by their waists and pulled them towards him.
Nikita stumbled against his chest, while Selene let out a surprised little gasp before finding herself sitting sideways across his thigh.
“Let’s stop this and get ready. Go back to the mansion. There are only a few hours left… so spend it with the children because I still have some things to do.”
Neither woman continued their selfishness.
“Mm…”
“Nnnn…”
