Chapter 2909: Aura Farming

Date: Unspecified

Time: Unspecified

Location: Myriad Realms, Card World, Western Region, Berg District, Scarlet Berg, Outskirts

Matriarch Ali, Patriarch Bale, the City Lord, and the other family heads who had come to meet the Emissary of Light, Saintess Catherine, and Demigod Redfall remained trapped in the original flow of time.

Even while the Palace Guard Captain accelerated time for himself and his squad, none of them noticed anything unusual. To them, the world had continued normally. They didn’t even have time to greet them when the entire city suddenly trembled violently.

Crack!

The sound of the city’s array formation shattering echoed across Scarlet Berg like thunder.

Every family head instantly turned toward the source of the disturbance.

And then they saw it.

A gigantic pillar of ice stretching several miles across the sky, so massive it resembled a frozen mountain suspended above the city. The thing shimmered like diamond itself as shards of ice and frozen debris rained down from its surface. A terrifying chill swept through Scarlet Berg, instantly freezing rooftops, streets, and even parts of the surrounding mountains white.

For a brief moment, pure terror gripped everyone’s hearts.

They genuinely thought the entire city was about to be crushed beneath that monstrous glacier descending from the heavens. Some weaker card apprentices even collapsed on the spot from fear.

But just as panic began spreading, the falling ice pillar suddenly stopped midair.

Their expressions shifted from terror to stunned disbelief as they noticed a single figure beneath it.

A blue humanoid woman of ethereal beauty floated under the frozen mountain while holding it aloft with one hand as casually as if it weighed nothing at all. Frosty mist drifted around her elegant body while a chilling divine aura radiated from every movement she made.

The sight was so surreal it felt more like witnessing a mythical ice goddess descending into the mortal world.

The fear in everyone’s hearts instantly returned, only this time it mixed with awe. And for several of the male card apprentices, something else stirred as well in their hearts.

Despite the overwhelming danger she represented, they couldn’t stop themselves from staring. The elegant figure wrapped in that skin-tight frost suit, carrying a mountain of ice above her palm, awakened a primal fascination deep within them. Beauty and terror had fused together into something intoxicating.

Even Matriarch Ali briefly lost focus while staring at the blue-haired figure in the sky, unable to comprehend how such a monstrous existence had suddenly appeared in Scarlet Berg City.

They were so overwhelmed by her beauty and terrifying strength that none of them noticed the most shocking detail hidden deep within the enormous ice pillar.

The Western Palace Guards, who had originally arrived to aid Scarlet Berg City but later attempted to abduct the Bright Lions at the cost of the city, were frozen inside the glacier itself. Whether they were alive or dead remained unknown.

"There’s no need to continue this discussion. We’ll be taking our leave now," Demigod Redfall calmly said to the Scarlet Berg demigods while watching the scene unfolding in the sky.

Jaya was flying overhead while casually carrying the gigantic ice pillar on one palm as though it weighed nothing. Behind her followed Aurelia alongside Cervos’s twin-headed corpse dragon, which carried Jonas and the others along with Ezekiel Cross on its back.

Meanwhile, Zora Ali and Kirk Bale quietly hid themselves among the group, desperately trying not to get noticed by their respective family heads below.

The demigods of Scarlet Berg City didn’t dare utter a single word to stop them. They could only nod stiffly in a daze while watching the group leave.

Only after they disappeared into the distance did the pressure suffocating the area finally ease enough for everyone to breathe again.

Patriarch Bale was the first to break the silence.

"Did any of you notice..." he asked slowly, his voice slightly trembling, "that the Western Palace Guards were frozen inside that ice pillar, or were my eyes playing tricks on me?"

"I don’t know whether this counts as good fortune or bad fortune," Matriarch Ali sighed heavily. "But seeing everything was already over before we even had the chance to properly greet the Saintess or Demigod Redfall... this is beyond our power."

Beside her, the City Lord simply shook his head in dismay.

His mind was already racing through the consequences that would follow if an entire squad of Western Palace Guards had truly been killed or captured within Scarlet Berg City.

No matter how he looked at it, a political storm was about to descend upon the city. No matter how the Western Royal Palace decided to respond to this incident, the Scarlet Berg city would suffer regardless.

...

"If you’re done showing off, cut down that ice pillar and just carry the section containing the frozen Western Palace Guards," Aurelia remarked while eyeing the environmental impact of hauling such a gigantic glacier through the sky.

The surrounding temperature had already plummeted drastically, and snow had begun falling across Scarlet Berg and the nearby wilderness because of the absurd amount of frost energy leaking from the ice pillar.

"Don’t be jealous. Did I ever complain whenever you tried to look cool and show off?" Jaya shot back smugly.

Then, with a casual flick of her hand, she tossed the gigantic ice pillar high into the air.

Before the frozen mass could begin descending, Jaya blurred upward and swung her arm.

Slash!

The several-mile-long glacier was instantly cut into three massive sections. Two of the larger pieces shattered apart moments later under the pressure of her grip, exploding into countless ice fragments that scattered across the sky like glittering frozen stars. Waves of freezing air continued pouring from them, causing snow to fall steadily across the surrounding region.

Only the central block remained intact, the one containing the frozen Western Palace Guards trapped deep within layers of solid ice. Jaya calmly lowered it onto her palm and continued flying as if carrying nothing more than a suitcase.

Meanwhile, Cervos quietly watched the duo while a thought surfaced in his mind. Would Jaya eventually challenge Aurelia for leadership of the Bright Lions? After all, the strength Jaya had displayed today was downright monstrous.

What Cervos failed to realize, however, was that Jaya had no interest in becoming the leader as long as Aurelia remained in charge. She genuinely believed in Aurelia’s vision for the Bright Lions.

And more importantly, Jaya understood something about herself better than anyone else. No matter how powerful she became, she could never outshine Aurelia’s natural charisma. Also, she didn’t dare to underestimate the Unstoppable Bloodline.
