Chapter 147: Nephrite

Liu Yu put on her clothes and only when she tried to get out of bed did she realize how much it hurt. Her whole body felt as if it had been torn apart.

When Lu Chengxiao came out of the inner room, he saw Liu Yu’s pale face and hesitant steps. He hurried over in a few steps and nervously supported her, “Yu’er, what’s wrong?”

She slept for a long time, until just before midday, when the sound of approaching footsteps from outside woke her. Yu Ge’er called out in his childish voice from the door, “Grandma told me to call you and Third Aunt for lunch.”

The child’s loud voice woke Liu Yu. She opened her eyes sleepily, her drowsy appearance making Lu Chengxiao’s throat tighten. His gaze lingered on her lips, which had finally lost their swollen redness. Knowing they had to go out and Liu Yu was shy, he restrained himself, gently kissing her cheek, and said with a smile, “Time to get up.”

He responded to Yu Ge’er outside, saying they knew and then got up to help Liu Yu with her clothes.

Liu Yu was now fully awake. She was startled to hear that a child had been sent to call them for lunch, “How did we sleep so late?”

She took the clothes Lu Chengxiao handed her and turned her back to dress.

Lu Chengxiao sat beside her, watching as her snowy back was revealed when she turned. Liu Yu, unaware, quickly dressed, then got out of bed to put on her shoes, went to the side room to wash her face, redo her hair, and checked the mirror to ensure there were no marks on her neck before feeling relieved.

As Liu Yu walked around the room, Lu Chengxiao’s gaze followed her. Seeing her movements were no longer stiff as in the morning, his brow furrowed, his eyes darkening slightly.

Sansukini’s P.S: I was wondering why the title is “Nephrite.” I wasn’t sure they talked about any jades in this chapter. Upon research (lol), I found that nephrite was derived from the word “nephros,” which means kidney. And if you read a lot of cnovels like me, the men’s kidney is responsible for their s3xual functions and vitality. And so, this chapter is about the snusnu. (Hahaha. I was just trying to connect the dots. Correct me if I’m wrong.)
