Chapter 1178: A Bigger Scheme

Chapter 1178: A Bigger Scheme

The Grand Regent, who was resting with her eyes closed as she leaned back into her chair, suddenly moved. Her eyes snapped open as though she sensed something, and she immediately sat up. Her black eyes danced within their sockets as she looked around with a cold expression on her face.

But no matter how much she looked, she saw nothing and sensed nothing. Her eyes narrowed for a moment, then her senses expanded, covering the entire silver metallic underground bunker as she seemed to search for something.

Asher, who was standing opposite her, immediately frowned as he knew that the Grand Regent had sensed something. His head snapped to the side, where Lyra could be seen standing, although he couldn’t see her or sense her, but his Passive Spatial Sense skill gave him a sense of where she was.

He wanted to communicate through telepathy, but that required Astra Energy, and it was impossible. But seeing Lyra remain calm despite the Grand Regent’s reaction, Asher decided to remain calm too.

And indeed, Asher was right. The Grand Regent had indeed sensed something. She hadn’t sensed him specifically, but she had gotten the feeling that she was being watched at that moment, hence her reaction.

The sixth sense was a mysterious skill that, although it could be explained, was not entirely understood. Even though Asher remained within the Second Layer Of Space, where the Grand Regent could never see or sense him, she had still come to find out that someone was spying on her.

Asher remained silent and motionless as he had already guessed how the woman had known someone was spying on her. But what he didn’t understand was why the woman had to react now, after all, he had been spying on her and her three Regents for a while.

’Maybe because I thought about killing her?’

He asked himself, but he couldn’t confirm or deny it as he hadn’t exactly shown or displayed any killing intent outwardly. It had only been a thought, nothing more.

He shook his head, deciding to forget about it, but he remained in place to see the action the woman was going to carry out.

After a moment, the Grand Regent stopped sensing the entire underground bunker, a frown appearing on her face the next moment as she had sensed literally nothing amiss, only Soldiers whom she was already familiar with.

’Could I be becoming as paranoid as the First Regent? I’m definitely sure someone was spying on me.’

She thought to herself as her frown remained.

She sat in place for a moment as she considered whether to report this or not. After a moment, she decided not to, as even if she did, they would ask her for proof, and since she couldn’t provide any, her claims would be dismissed.

She sighed the next moment as she shook her head, then sank back into her chair as she simply wrote off what she had felt earlier. The feeling of being watched had simply lasted for a split second before it vanished, so her senses could be overreacting due to the First Regent’s words.

Asher simply watched as the Grand Regent seemed to no longer sense his gaze. He could tell that the woman had written it off as her overreacting, which was normal, as even he had sensed something that wasn’t there once in a while.

It was normal, given their sensitive senses.

His purple eyes shifted towards Lyra, and a small smile appeared on his lips as he was a bit proud of how far she had come. After all, this Grand Regent was definitely stronger than her, but she hadn’t sensed Lyra.

Asher shook his head as he continued staring at the Grand Regent despite her reaction. He couldn’t help but wonder how strong this woman truly was to be so confident in taking on the man known as Damian Wargrave. He had heard her talk about how the Wargraves were powerful, but weren’t omnipotent, which Asher wouldn’t deny was the truth.

After all, if they were, they would only die of old age... or suicide.

Asher couldn’t help but wonder what her ability was, after all, Damian’s Calculator ability could probably do something that rendered her own ability useless, yet she still came. He couldn’t help but wonder if this woman actually knew of Damian’s ability, but as he thought about that, he dropped the thought as he was sure she definitely knew.

Hence, he arrived at one conclusion; she was definitely of the same generation as Damian, geniuses of past generations.

Asher didn’t bother thinking about the Velkarin Emperor’s true goal beyond starting a War. He was sure the man’s only goal was for the Zarethorne Empire to feel the same pain he felt when his wife and newborn baby were assassinated.

’As the three Regents said, this is definitely the work of those Sinvairas.’

Asher thought to himself as he touched his chin with his index finger and thumb. He agreed with them, as it was simply too obvious.

He was sure that there was no way that Emperor Zolthemir secretly left the Zarethorne Empire, invaded the Velkarin Empire, killed their Empress, and left a strand of hair behind. It was simply a rookie mistake, dumb, stupid, and the man had no reason to even assassinate the pregnant Empress.

And as for how Emperor Zolthemir’s hair had gotten there, Asher was sure that the Sinvairas probably got their hands on it when the Emperor was still just a child or something of that nature.

As Asher thought of this, his eyes narrowed as a puzzled expression appeared on his face as he wondered why the Sinvairas had decided to cause a War between two Empires.

As for The Convergence Organization, Asher didn’t even think about them. While they might have beef against the Wargrave Family for killing five Thresholds, he was sure those people wouldn’t push it to this scale, as there was no need.

So, the Sinvairas needed to gain something from this War.

’They probably... no, they definitely need something from both the Zarethorne Empire and the Velkarin Empire, so they started a War between the two Empires, and while both Empires would be distracted killing each other, they would retrieve whatever they needed from both Empires instead of just one.’

Asher’s eyes narrowed in thought as his mind seemed to produce an answer and the cause behind the whole War.

’And while they take whatever they need, the Empires would also kill each other’s Crownstar Life Rankers, hence reducing the amount of strength both forces possessed. One stone, three birds.’

His purple eyes flickered in thought as he remained motionless with a frown on his face.

He sighed for a moment as he felt powerless; it was as though some invisible pieces were moving. It was as if he could vaguely feel the pieces, but he couldn’t see them.

At first, it was The First True War, the Erased Era, and now, it was the Sinvairas finally launching some great plan to retrieve whatever both Empires had. And honestly, he was really getting tired of it all. The endless schemes, hidden motives, and unseen forces were beginning to weigh heavily on his mind.
