Chapter 500: All Versus One-3
Chapter 500: All Versus One-3
Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud!
Bodies hit the floor like they were mere stones and pebbles tossed carelessly across the ground. Asher stood with a calm ease and overwhelming presence, his breathing steady and controlled, his body pristine and perfect as he wasn’t even sweating, after all, why should he, when none of this had forced him to exert himself even slightly.
He stood like he was the only remaining warrior on a battlefield while the other students’ bodies piled around him like corpses scattered across said battlefield, broken and unmoving. At this moment, he was done dealing with the weaker students as only those within the top ten remained standing.
But just because they were in the top ten didn’t mean they didn’t feel the pressure pressing down on their shoulders like an invisible mountain, they felt it deeply, suffocatingly, and it crawled beneath their skin like cold fingers.
Asher’s purple eyes shifted toward their direction, sharp and emotionless, he didn’t move, he remained exactly where he stood like an immovable monument, yet despite his stillness, the threat he exuded only intensified. He could see their bodies were tensed, their muscles strained and ready to react to anything and everything, their breathing shallow, their instincts screaming danger at every passing second.
His eyes moved from Darissa Camber, then to Ryaen Silvershade, then to Vaelric and Vaelra, Lucifer Morningstar also stood amongst them, all of them staring at him as though waiting for him to make the first move, their gazes heavy with both determination and fear.
Asher didn’t move, he simply raised a hand and beckoned them to come toward him with a slow, almost lazy motion, a silent invitation filled with provocation, because he had already eliminated the weaker ones and now wanted to play around with these top ten for a bit before he eliminated them as well.
Seeing Asher’s sign, they glanced at one another, exchanging silent confirmations, then they shot forward like shooting stars ripping across the sky, the earth beneath their feet cracking with power and force as they launched themselves ahead, because they were the top ten for a reason and their strength was leagues above the rest.
Vaelric was the first to arrive, his foot tearing toward Asher’s forehead with lethal intent as though he wanted to erase his brain in a single strike, but Asher simply took a step back, dodging the attack like it was child’s play, his movements effortless and insulting. Another attack closed in from the side, this time from Lucifer, but Asher parried it with the back of his palm with insulting ease, the strike deflected as though it had never carried any weight.
The wind screamed behind him, and Asher didn’t hesitate, his feet dancing across the earth below, his center of gravity shifting seamlessly as he moved, his legs, waist, and shoulders moving in perfect tandem as he blurred to the side, the moment he left, Vaelra’s fist tore through the air where he had been standing, splitting the atmosphere with explosive force.
Darissa Camber blurred forward, her body lowered as she unleashed a whip kick toward Asher’s ankles as though she wanted to cripple him where he stood and rob him of his mobility, but Asher simply moved a bit backward, then transitioned into three consecutive backflips with graceful precision, the moment he landed and his eyes snapped upward, all he saw was a foot screaming for his face, the wind collapsing around it, revealing that it was the deadliest attack of all present.
But to Asher, no matter the speed, it was still not fast enough to catch him off guard, his body simply bent backward, his spine arching until his back became parallel to the ground, Ryaen’s foot tearing through the air as her attack missed by the smallest margin.
Ryaen, seeing her attack miss, immediately recalibrated midair as though she had foreseen this particular moment, as though she had predicted Asher would dodge in this exact way, and indeed she had, her body spinning midair with fluid elegance, then her heel screamed downward from above like a comet toward Asher’s head as he remained in position.
Asher showed no outward reaction, he simply moved his body and feet with minimal effort, his figure tearing to the side as he dodged, Ryaen’s foot collapsing upon the earth with catastrophic force, the ground caving in as spiderweb cracks tore outward in every direction like shattered glass.
Asher rose to his feet as his purple eyes met the five of them closing in again in a burst of motion. Asher didn’t stay on the defensive this time, he blurred forward as he matched their speed effortlessly, the moment they closed the distance, he met Darissa first, he caught her punch in his palm, pulling her in without resistance, his own palm thundering into her sternum with immense, bone-rattling force.
She felt the air in her lungs erupt outward as they screamed for escape, her body spasming as breath abandoned her completely, and Asher still held onto her fist which he had caught earlier, he slammed her into the floor with cataclysmic impact, her body tearing into the earth with maddening brutality as dust exploded outward, as Asher cared not for gender nor mercy.
Vaelra had already closed the distance, her knee snapping toward Asher’s temple from the side, but Asher simply raised the back of his palm and stopped it dead in its path before it could reach its target, he didn’t even turn to look at her as though he didn’t acknowledge her existence.
Vaelra’s senses screamed as she wanted to move and recalibrate, but Asher wouldn’t let her, his hand clamped down on her knee, pulling her forward like he had done to Darissa, his elbow slamming into her jaw with dangerous force from below, her head snapping upward violently as her consciousness flickered out, and Asher simply threw her aside as though she wasn’t worth his time.
Lucifer wanted to move, but Asher moved first, he arrived before him instantly, his knee tearing into his gut with the force of a planet. Lucifer immediately turned pale as the blow emptied his stomach, his body folding as he vomited, but before anything could even touch Asher, he was already gone, the puke and its owner hitting the floor with hollow, pathetic thuds.
Asher walked toward Vaelric with calm, measured steps of a master who knew he stood above all others. Vaelric stared at him, various emotions swirling violently within his chest, fear, disbelief, frustration, humiliation, he had never felt this way in his entire life, he was talented, rich, handsome, a Prince, adored and respected, but before Asher, he had never felt so lesser, so small, so utterly insignificant.
Asher came to a stop before him as he met the Prince’s brown eyes with his purple ones, they seemed to enter a silent staring contest that stretched for eternity, then the next moment, the Prince collapsed to his knees before Asher’s feet as sweat drenched his back, his will shattered without a single strike, and Asher stared at him briefly before walking past him because the boy had already lost psychologically.
The only remaining opponent was Ryaen Silvershade, the strongest and best among them all, a smile appearing on her face despite everything, fearless and stubborn. She didn’t wait for Asher to walk toward her, she shot forward like a bullet leaving its shell casing, appearing before him instantly, a jab screaming toward his chin.
But it was futile, Asher’s palm stopped the attack before it could continue, then before she could even blink, she felt a maddening force ripple through her head as pain exploded within her brain, she hadn’t even seen the attack, it had simply been too fast for her perception.
But even with that, she fell unconscious with a smile still on her face, her body hitting the ground with a final, quiet thud.
And within the silent battlefield, surrounded by fallen bodies and cracked earth, only a single boy who had taken on the entire class and come out on top remained standing. He was Asher, he was a Wargrave, he was the Tenth Sun.
