Chapter 526: All That You Need [Bonus Chapter]

Asher stepped into a building that was named ’All That You Need.’ Of course, Asher knew it was just a bait name in a way, the kind of exaggerated promise merchants used to lure in hopeful customers. Stepping into the building, a sales assistant immediately approached. Asher felt her gaze as she looked at him from head to toe as though gauging what level of customer he was, silently measuring his worth with practiced eyes.

Seeing his handsome face, his expensive clothing, and his armor, the sales assistant smiled as her eyes seemed to turn into gold coins. She bowed and greeted, "Welcome to All That You Need, we are here to meet and match your requests and expectations," she stated smoothly, her tone sweet and professional, like someone trained to flatter without restraint.

Asher could already tell she was only acting this way because she felt he was rich, but he didn’t complain. Who didn’t like being treated highly, after all? Respect born from money was still respect, even if it was shallow and conditional.

"If I may, I could lead you to the VIP section of the building," she stated as she stared at Asher, awaiting his reply with an attentive posture, clearly hoping to secure a valuable customer.

Asher didn’t know whether to laugh or to cry. He was merely here to buy a map, nothing else, yet he was being treated like some noble lord. "Sure," he replied casually, deciding there was no harm in accepting better service if it was offered so readily.

With that, the sales assistant gestured politely, then walked forward with graceful steps. Asher followed behind her. They passed through various sections of the building, and Asher could see clothes of various qualities and price ranges, weapons displayed behind glass cases, polished armor sets, and numerous other items arranged neatly on shelves and racks.

Arriving within a room that practically screamed gold coins, decorated with luxurious carpets, soft lighting, and expensive furniture, Asher sat with comfortable ease. The moment he sat, another person entered the room with a bottle and a glass in their hand, and they poured him a glass of wine, which was apparently among the VIP services provided to premium customers.

’Sigh... so much better than whatever Anna was serving as a special,’ Asher thought to himself as he savored the taste of the wine on his tongue, the rich flavor spreading warmly through his mouth, far smoother and more refined than the ale he had earlier.

"Sir, what do you seek?" the sales assistant asked as she stood nearby, ready to get to work immediately, her expression attentive and eager.

Asher set the glass down on the table before him before he spoke, "I will need a map," he stated simply, not bothering with unnecessary explanations.

"What kind, and what specifics do you need?" she asked again without missing a beat. After all, she couldn’t just bring any random map without knowing the details.

"As long as it leads me to a village called the Blackstone Village from this County, then I don’t care what type or how expensive it is," Asher replied calmly as he truly didn’t care how much it would cost. Money was the least of his concerns.

The sales assistant nodded, then left the room as she moved swiftly towards the map section of the merchant building. Although she had never heard of the Blackstone Village, she didn’t care about that. She wasn’t into maps; she would simply ask the staff who were in charge of that department and let them handle the specifics.

A few minutes later, she returned and spoke with an apologetic tone, "I’m sorry, sir, but it seems we don’t have any maps that include the path to the Blackstone Village," she stated calmly as she bowed slightly, clearly disappointed that she couldn’t immediately fulfill his request.

Asher sighed, then nodded. It was understandable. After all, why would a County care about a random village enough to map it precisely? But still, Asher was far too lazy to walk around the entire County searching for a map himself like some wandering fool.

Since money made the world go around, Asher decided to spend more. "You are familiar with many merchants within the County, right? Be they small time merchants or large merchants," he asked, his tone measured and thoughtful.

The sales assistant seemed confused for a moment but nodded. It was normal to be aware of competitors in the same business as you, no matter how low they were on the food chain. "I do, sir," she replied.

"Then let’s make a deal. If you or anyone from your merchant building can find me the map I requested, purchase it and bring it to me, then I will buy goods worth two platinum coins here," Asher spoke. But he didn’t just speak. He took out two platinum coins from his system inventory and showed them to her, the metal glinting under the light, in order to motivate her to complete the task faster.

The sales assistant immediately nodded with huge happiness and glee. After all, according to the rules of their merchant building, whenever a customer spent more than a certain amount of gold coins, the sales assistant who attended to the customer would get a five percent cut from the total money the customer spent.

Two platinum coins equaled two thousand gold coins, and five percent of that was a hundred gold coins. She didn’t dare hesitate. She immediately agreed and rushed off like a storm, her earlier calm professionalism replaced with pure, burning motivation.

Asher simply relaxed into the soft chair, crossing one leg over the other. Why work hard if he could just throw money at the situation? He couldn’t help but understand those young masters who used money to solve their problems. It truly was a pleasant feeling, almost addictive in its convenience.

Time blurred quietly, and over two hours passed before the sales assistant returned with bad news. Despite searching throughout the County and calling all her sources, she didn’t find any maps leading to the Blackstone Village.

Maps only had important locations and directions on them, and the Blackstone Village was simply one of hundreds, if not thousands, of villages out there. There was nothing special about it to justify including it on any official or regular maps.

Asher sighed, at least the sales assistant had saved him the effort of running around endlessly. ’Back to the caravans, huh?’ Asher mused to himself, already adjusting his next plan.

He could see the sad expression the sales assistant was trying to hide, her shoulders slightly slumped in disappointment. Asher sighed softly. Although she hadn’t found the map, he decided to buy clothes worth a platinum coin anyway. The woman had worked hard for him; he couldn’t exactly leave her without any reward even if he didn’t have to.

He bought only clothes, shoes, and a few watches, transferring all of them to his system inventory. Asher, who was unaware that the sales assistant would get a five percent share from the one thousand coins he had just spent, still gave the woman ten gold coins for her own personal efforts, considering it simple courtesy.

With that, he left for the caravan, stepping out of the merchant building with steady strides, already planning his next move.
