Chapter 627: Millions

Chapter 627: Millions

Hundreds of kilometres away from the Wargrave Ducal territory, a man appeared midair; he possessed white hair and a white beard, he stood seven feet tall, a long lance resting on his back as he floated, adorned in his armor that shimmered faintly beneath the ambient light, it was Knight Commander Yveric.

At this moment, he was now at the location of the Monsters and Beasts that were about to invade the Wargrave, the vast stretch of land below him teeming with chaotic life that carried an ominous weight. A smile couldn’t help but break across his face, "it has been a while since I had some action," he murmured to himself, his tone laced with a subtle anticipation, and certainly, it was.

As someone stationed at the Wargrave Ducal territory, he had rarely left the place, meaning no battles for him, no real conflicts to test his strength. The last time he had even been remotely close to action was during Asher’s journey towards the Canestane Barony, where a group of bandits had tried to rob and kill the three Suns, an incident so insignificant that it barely registered as anything more than a fleeting memory in his mind.

His black eyes shifted below, and down there was what could be called a nest, no, a nest paled in comparison to what he was seeing, for what lay beneath him was far beyond anything so simple or insignificant.

At this place were over a million monsters and beasts... yes, over a million, an overwhelming congregation of chaotic entities gathered within a single expanse.

They all ranged from the weakest, which was the Fang class, to the strongest, which was the Void class, creating a hierarchy of power that, under normal circumstances, would have been enough to threaten entire regions.

The number was simply this outrageous compared to the Monsters that invaded the Rivelle Barony, simply because of what the Wargrave, no, what a Ducal family, possessed, an existence that naturally drew calamity towards itself as though it were an unavoidable law of nature.

’Five Void class, hundreds of Myth class, thousands of Crown class down to the Fang class,’ Yveric assessed with calm ease, his mind processing the information with frightening efficiency. The enemies simply hadn’t sensed him, simply because he was thousands of meters in the sky, seated upon a cloud as though it were a throne, observing everything with detached indifference and calm composure.

’Let’s begin, shall we?’ he murmured, his voice carrying a faint trace of excitement, then fell from the sky as gravity finally acted upon him under his own will, his descent controlled yet devastating in its implication.

Within a matter of seconds, he was already upon the monster territory, and with a cataclysmic burst of force, Yveric’s body slammed into the earth, the impact tearing out shockwaves, sound waves, stones blasting outward, and terrain shattering across tens of kilometres as though the very land had been struck by divine punishment. The impact slammed into the monsters with ridiculous force, wiping out thousands of them before they could even begin to understand what was happening, their existence erased in an instant.

Blood of various colors splattered into the air, flesh tearing apart with sickening ease, heavy thuds echoed as countless corpses struck the ground, a suffocating stench of blood hitting every nostril like a violent wave as everything could literally taste the iron saturating the air; the sky itself seemed to change color, dyed crimson, purple, and blue as the blood mist rose and spread like a grotesque veil.

A huge mushroom-shaped smoke cloud rose towards the heavens, covering the expansive forest that had now been reduced to a battlefield of destruction, hazing and churning with smeared dust and debris. Through the dust, Yveric stepped out with calm ease, his body as pristine as ever, untouched by the filth and carnage that filled the air, as though the chaos itself refused to cling to him.

Finally seeing their prey, colossal bursts of Astra energy tore into the air as various monsters screeched, some roared in madness, while the more intelligent ones from the Grave Rank upwards didn’t bother making any noise and simply readied themselves to move with calculated intent. The combined roars and screeches of thousands of monsters were enough to rupture eardrums and generate violent sonic waves, yet it was all meaningless in the face of what stood before them.

Yveric stared at them in silence, his gaze devoid of fear or hesitation, then spoke, "you know, I haven’t had any fun in a long while, so I will be enjoying this for a few minutes, five minutes max," he stated as he began to walk again.

Yveric knew he couldn’t be far away for too long, which was why he gave himself a five-minute limit to wipe out every breathing living being here. Normally, just like Azaron, he could have simply chosen to one-shot these weaklings, but that was Azaron, the man experienced constant battles and unending action, but he, Yveric, had been deprived of such engagements for far too long; this was his one opportunity to stretch his body and indulge himself, even if only for a brief five minutes.

Besides, he could still sense the Wargrave territory from here; if anything happened there within that five-minute window, he could return instantly without the slightest delay, ensuring that his duties remained uncompromised.

But before the monsters could even react, he blurred forward with a speed greater than anything anyone present had ever witnessed, his movement transcending perception itself, and with a single punch, the entire landscape collapsed upon itself with a thunderous, apocalyptic crescendo; the ground caved in, space trembled, and with that single attack, he had erased thousands effortlessly.

But he didn’t spare the dead a glance; he vanished from where he stood, his body reappearing at another location, and with a single sweep of his leg, space shattered and tore outward violently, and in that instant, every monster and beast within that region was reduced to nothingness, another thousand erased as though they had never existed.

Hundreds of kilometres were decimated with just two attacks from him, a punch and a swing of his leg. He appeared midair once more, then waved his hand through the air; with that simple motion, the atmosphere itself compressed violently, pressure intensifying beyond comprehension before erupting outward in ruinous annihilation as it swallowed every monster in sight within a ninety-kilometre range, leaving nothing but devastation in its wake.

Trees were razed effortlessly, mountains shattered from their peaks, terrain reduced to unrecognizable ruin. Shockwaves and earthquakes rippled outward with explosive seismic force, as booming sounds echoed like relentless thunderclaps across the shattered landscape, each reverberation carrying the weight of absolute destruction.

The monsters couldn’t do anything; their ranks didn’t matter at this moment, Fang class? Myth class? Grave class? It didn’t matter what class they belonged to. When Yveric had called them all flies, he wasn’t joking; he wasn’t exaggerating in the slightest.

This was simply how strong a Crownstar Life Ranker was, possessing enough power to erase millions out of existence if they so desired, their strength existing on a plane that rendered conventional understanding meaningless.

The saying that even a great number of ants could kill an elephant was a fallacy when they themselves were the elephant, an overwhelming force that could not be challenged by mere numbers alone.

Although Yveric had given himself five minutes, he ended up wiping out over a million living beings within the span of a single minute, even while holding back significantly. After all, he hadn’t even drawn his weapon, he didn’t even use Astra energy, no weapon technique, he didn’t even use his awakened ability that made him feared throughout the Empire. He had accomplished all this with nothing but pure physical force, which in his perspective were merely casual, simple movements.

This was simply the difference between a Crownstar Life Ranker and everything else below, a gap so vast that it could not be bridged by effort or numbers alone. Beings on this level were simply on a level of their own, standing at a height that rendered all lesser existences insignificant, as though they existed in an entirely different dimension of power and existence altogether.
