Chapter 646: Order
Chapter 646: Order
Azaron sighed as he began to speak after a moment of silence. "You know, I’ve always left my children to their enemies, always allowing them to grow up and challenge their adversaries by themselves, which is why, unlike my first son, Malrik, I simply sit back and watch," Azaron’s voice echoed, flat and simple, yet carrying an undeniable weight that pressed upon everyone present.
"But it seems I’ve been sitting back far too much. It seems that just because I allow my children to face their enemies so they can grow, people tend to forget that I, Azaron Wargrave, am still alive," he continued without missing a beat. "You know, on Lily’s deathbed, after giving birth to the Youngest, she made me promise to protect him with everything I have, which I agreed to without hesitation," he paused briefly, as though recalling that moment, before continuing.
"But it seems I have failed to honor her dying wish. Firstly, the Youngest failed his awakening twice. I watched the maids and butlers mock him in secret, even his own siblings, yet I did nothing about it, simply because I believed children are meant to grow in hardship. After all, this world is far too cruel for innocence or mercy," Azaron stated, and everyone listened to the man speak in silence, not daring to interrupt him at this moment.
"Then after that, I watched Valentine sneak in a Knight as an assassin during the Youngest’s True Awakening, a man who was never supposed to be there, but I remained silent about it, since the Youngest prevailed at the end of the day. But it seemed that was not enough. Even Cindralis, the so-called Goddess of Space, pressured the Youngest, attempting to force him into becoming her disciple, simply because she believed we would not be there to know, which I forgave, as I knew she would not do anything too drastic even if neither I nor Malrik had arrived that day," he paused briefly, allowing his words to settle heavily upon the minds of those listening.
"Then after that, Valentine interfered yet again by sending a Swiftstar Life Ranker assassin after the Youngest, and now, it is your turn, you attempting to manipulate the Youngest’s mind," he continued, his tone growing colder. "Everyone seems to momentarily forget that I still stand as the Wargrave Primarch... and it seems it is time I made the Empire remember. It seems that perhaps it is time to erase the Empire and build anew. It seems it is time to remind everyone why none of my siblings competed against me for the title of Primarch, and why I am often referred to as the strongest man within the Zarethorn Empire," he concluded, his voice brisk, icy, and edged with something far more dangerous.
Everyone immediately frowned. They did not need to guess, nor did they need to think. They could feel it, in their minds, in their bodies, in their very souls... an apocalypse was coming.
"The Wargrave family has always been one that never sought trouble and has always fought Monsters, Beasts, and Emovirae. But it seems that despite our desire to be left alone, we cannot truly be left alone," Azaron stated, his golden eyes brightening as he spoke, radiating an overwhelming presence.
"All Wargrave Family members, heed my words. I, the Primarch, order you to wipe out every being who is loyal to the Royal Family. Be they official Royal Family members, be they maids, be they butlers, be they Cabinet Members, be they anything. As long as they breathe, as long as their loyalty lies with the Imperial Family, I want them all wiped out."
Azaron’s words fell like a thunderclap. His declaration shocked everyone present; even the Great Elders and Elders were left momentarily speechless, as even they had not anticipated such an absolute and merciless command.
Yes, everyone had expected a battle of some sort, but this... Azaron’s order was nothing less than an outright war against the Royal Family.
The Elders and Great Elders quickly snapped out of their shock as they intoned in unison, "As the Primarch wishes."
They understood that Azaron’s command made perfect sense within their perspective. One of their own had been targeted and manipulated; retaliation was inevitable. Moreover, the Primarch was fulfilling the dying wish of his wife, a promise he himself had admitted to neglecting in the past years.
The moment the Great Elders and Elders spoke, their power detonated outward in full force. The entire Capital City erupted into cataclysmic ruin from the sheer release of their presence alone. Thousands of kilometers were wiped off the map in an instant; buildings were reduced to nothingness, streets and shops vanished, and everything that existed, be it living beings or inanimate objects, was obliterated as earthquakes tore through the land in overwhelming, consuming chaos.
The maids, the butlers, the weaker Knights, all those belonging to the Royal Imperial Family, were wiped out before any of them could even blink, erased solely by the overwhelming presence of the Wargraves.
Earlier, the Great Elders and Elders had been holding back under the orders of Morthen Wargrave, the First Great Elder. But now, with the Primarch’s command, that restraint became meaningless.
Morthen, ever the madman, was the first to act. He did not hesitate as he transitioned into one of his mid-tier abilities.
[Fictional Reality: Void Type: Corrosion Of The World]
Astra energy erupted from him as madness descended upon the entire Empire, his power no longer restrained in any capacity.
Azaron glanced up at the nebula in the sky. With a single thought, it vanished. He had intended to use it to erase the entire Empire from existence... but there were innocent citizens who had nothing to do with this conflict, and even he acknowledged that distinction.
"AZARON WARGRAVE!!!!" Emperor Zolthemir Lux Vanthelmor roared at the top of his lungs. He could not believe what he was witnessing, nor what he had just heard. He had not expected Azaron to issue such a command; he had believed Azaron would arrive at the same conclusion he himself had, that numerous forces were watching, waiting to act the moment the two sides clashed.
Yes, Azaron had considered that possibility, but did he care? Not in the slightest. Azaron possessed the confidence to face every opposing force head-on if necessary. He would not stand idly by and watch his child be manipulated simply to avoid conflict with too many enemy forces.
Azaron’s head turned toward the Emperor, but before Emperor Zolthemir Lux Vanthelmor could even speak, Azaron was already standing before him. In that infinitesimal instant in which he appeared, Azaron annihilated the surrounding Crownstar Life Rankers, reducing them to nothing but gore, intestines, organs, and pulverized flesh scattering into the air.
And in that same infinitesimal moment, as he killed Crownstar Life Rankers as effortlessly as one would swat flies, his foot left the ground with catastrophic force, his knee slamming into Emperor Zolthemir Lux Vanthelmor’s chest with the force of a burning star.
The Emperor could not even perceive the attack. He had not seen it, he had not sensed it, there had been nothing. The only thing he became aware of was the sheer pain that surged through his body and the brutal impact against his armor. Momentum and inertia took hold instantly, tearing him backward as his body snapped violently, as though he were a broken kite caught in the midst of a raging storm.
