Creating Heavenly Laws

Chapter 765

Chapter 765

Inside the Time-Space Shop, the Twelve-Eyed Beast looked at Lin Yuan apologetically. “That’s just how Night Mist is. Don’t take it personally.”

“Of course I don’t mind,”

Lin Yuan replied.

The negotiation with the Night Mist Lord hadn’t gone through—that’s all. Neither side was particularly satisfied. That was perfectly normal.

In fact, if Lin Yuan really had been just an ordinary newly-advanced stage-Three Lord, he might have agreed.

Serving for a million or ten million years in exchange for ten thousand catties of Time Sand? That wasn’t a bad deal at all.

As for the risks? Lin Yuan didn’t even need to think to know that the Wanwei Time-Space carried some dangers. But as a Time Lord, his survival abilities were extremely strong. And with the additional compensations mentioned by the Night Mist Lord...

The “treatment” was actually pretty good.

Unfortunately, Lin Yuan wasn’t a newly-advanced Time Lord.

His current strength already surpassed that of ordinary Lords, and in fifty thousand or a hundred thousand years, it would grow even more rapidly.

To buy his service for millions or tens of millions of years with just ten thousand catties of Time Sand?

“Then that’s good.”

The Twelve-Eyed Beast looked at Lin Yuan. In its seventh eye, a faint haze reflected Lin Yuan’s blurry past and future.

“He’s already a Lord, so why are there still traces of diverging timelines?” the Twelve-Eyed Beast wondered in confusion.

Time Lords usually paid close attention to their timelines, going to great lengths to conceal them. And since this place was in the past time-space, it should be even harder to perceive any timeline.

But the Twelve-Eyed Beast possessed numerous special talents. While it couldn’t directly observe Lin Yuan’s timeline, it could still sense that his timeline had not fully converged.

Most Time Lords had already completely converged their timelines.

For someone like Lin Yuan to still have diverging ones? That was rare.

Perhaps he had cultivated some kind of secret technique—one that allowed an already converged timeline to split again, in pursuit of more potential futures.

Or maybe he had done it intentionally, scattering timelines to conceal his true one, and so on.

Though those were all possibilities, they were typically tricks employed only by terrifyingly powerful Lords. For someone like Lin Yuan, a supposed newly-advanced Time Lord, it should have been impossible to so easily scatter his timeline.

“No matter what, it’s best to stay on good terms,” the Twelve-Eyed Beast thought to itself.

It had met many Time Lords, but few were as unique as Lin Yuan. Naturally, it didn’t want to offend him.

Just earlier, it had even gone out of its way to suggest to the Night Mist Lord to offer more Time Sand to "hire" Lin Yuan—for exactly this reason. Unfortunately, the Night Mist Lord didn’t catch the hint.

Or perhaps the Night Mist Lord did notice—but just didn’t care.

Among all the Time Lords, the Night Mist Lord’s personality could be considered quite… flamboyant.

“Do you have any information on the Wanwei Time-Space?”

Lin Yuan asked.

He had become intrigued. The strength of the Wanwei Lord was by far the greatest among all the Time Lords he had encountered—having survived the two hundred millionth tribulation of the third tier of the “Endless Tribulation” path!

The “Endless Tribulation” path of transcendence grew more difficult with each tribulation. The two hundred millionth trial of the third tier? Lin Yuan couldn’t even imagine what kind of ordeal that was.

“I do.”

The Twelve-Eyed Beast smiled. “A full intel package costs one thousand catties of Time Sand, but I’ll give you a discount—just five hundred.”

“Alright.”

Lin Yuan nodded.

Five hundred catties for complete intel on the Wanwei Time-Space wasn’t expensive at all—considering it involved an entity like the Wanwei Lord.

It was only because the Wanwei Time-Space had been opened many times and much of the information was no longer secret that the price wasn’t a thousand or even ten thousand times higher.

Soon—

Lin Yuan received a vast amount of information about the Wanwei Time-Space.

“How is it? Want to wait a bit longer? Ten thousand catties of Time Sand really isn’t much—some other Lords might offer more.”

The Twelve-Eyed Beast suggested.

Just because the Night Mist Lord was only willing to pay ten thousand catties didn’t mean the other Time Lords were limited to that amount.

The Twelve-Eyed Beast believed that with its “connections,” it could help Lin Yuan get a better deal.

“No need.”

Lin Yuan shook his head.

Even if they offered a bit more than ten thousand—what would it be? Twelve thousand? Fifteen thousand?

Even if the Twelve-Eyed Beast went to bat for him, in the eyes of other Lords, Lin Yuan was still just a newly-advanced Lord.

They weren’t going to offer that much Time Sand.

Unless Lin Yuan revealed his true level. But that would expose his secrets and draw attention from even more powerful Lords—not worth it.

“If you plan to explore the Wanwei Time-Space alone, you’ll need to watch out for the other Lords.”

The Twelve-Eyed Beast saw through Lin Yuan’s intentions and reminded him, “The Wanwei Lord bears no ill will toward future Lords. The Time-Space he created, while dangerous, doesn’t threaten one’s mind or soul. But the same can’t be said for the other Lords.”

The Wanwei Time-Space contained many treasures—enough to drive Time Lords mad. If several Lords fought over the same treasure, they certainly wouldn’t hold back.

While Time Lords were difficult to truly kill, against overwhelmingly powerful Lords, it was still possible to be left with some kind of unerasable mark.

“Understood.”

Lin Yuan nodded.

“If you really run into trouble, you can invoke my name. As long as you don’t provoke one of the so-called legendary Lords, it should work.”

The Twelve-Eyed Beast thought for a moment, then decided to speak.

It had already reached the final dozens of tribulations in the second tier of the Endless Tribulation path. Among stage-Three Lords, it was quite well-known. Unless it was up against a stage-Three legendary Time Lord, no one would want to offend it.

“Much appreciated.”

Lin Yuan was genuinely grateful.

A Time Lord’s name wasn’t something one could invoke lightly.

Doing so would really cause the Lord in question to sense it—and possibly respond.

With this promise from the Twelve-Eyed Beast, Lin Yuan would be fairly safe in the Wanwei Time-Space.

As for legendary stage-Three Lords? Those were exceedingly rare. Even if they did enter the Wanwei Time-Space, they’d head straight for its deepest reaches and would have no reason to interact with a newly-advanced Lord like him.

In the chaotic void—

Lin Yuan sat cross-legged, reviewing the intelligence on the Wanwei Time-Space.

The information from the Twelve-Eyed Beast was highly detailed—not just about the Wanwei Time-Space itself, but also many events involving the Wanwei Lord.

The Wanwei Lord had not only advanced deep into the Endless Tribulation path of transcendence, but had also explored extremely ancient epochs on the “Infinite Origin” transcendence path.

Additionally, the Wanwei Lord held the highest achievement on the “Perfect Soul” transcendence path.

Before the Wanwei Lord, aside from the three mainstream transcendence paths, there were a few others.

One of them—the “Perfect Soul” path—had gained recognition from many Lords.

The idea of the Perfect Soul was to refine the soul to a flawless state, and then, using that perfected soul, to nurture a flawless mind—transcending through the heart.

Perfect Soul meant achieving a level in the soul where no further improvement was possible—standing at the absolute peak of the Lord realm.

But the soul of a living being was extraordinarily complex. To refine it to perfection? Nearly impossible.

Yet the Wanwei Lord managed to do it—through sheer effort. Unfortunately, the perfected soul did not lead to a flawless mind, nor did it boost the Wanwei Lord’s strength by much.

Because of the Wanwei Lord’s attempt, it was proven that the Perfect Soul path led to a dead end. It could not lead a Lord to transcendence.

The more Lin Yuan read about the Wanwei Lord, the more confused he felt—

Why had the Wanwei Lord ultimately chosen to attempt the Perfect Time Life path?

Whether continuing on the Infinite Origin path or facing more tribulations—both should have had better chances of success.

In fact, from some perspectives, the Wanwei Lord might have been better off attempting the Perfect Time Life path right after becoming a Lord. After countless eras as a Lord, having reached the extreme in so many paths, to then choose a transcendence path based solely on fate?

Didn’t that make all his previous efforts meaningless?

“Perhaps the Wanwei Lord thought he could no longer survive the upcoming tribulations,”

Lin Yuan thought silently.

Only when one saw no hope in the Endless Tribulation path would they turn to the Perfect Time Life route.

“I suppose I’m lucky.”

Lin Yuan examined himself. At least with the help of Boundary-Breaking Source Power, if he chose the Endless Tribulation path, he was basically guaranteed to pass all the tribulations.

It was just a matter of how much Source Power he had—and how long it would take.

“This time the Wanwei Time-Space opens, I should definitely go explore it.”

Having finished reading the intelligence, Lin Yuan made up his mind.

As long as he was cautious, there shouldn’t be much danger.

Unless he tried to compete with others over some rare treasure—

Or delved too deeply into the danger zones.

Some parts of the Wanwei Time-Space could indeed threaten Lords.

But as long as he avoided those, he’d be fine.

Outside the chaotic void—

Two figures descended.

The Mother of Spiral World and Wan Chengkong had been waiting patiently.

Lin Yuan’s figure soon condensed.

“Brother Milky Way,” Wan Chengkong greeted him with a smile.

“Brother Milky Way,” the Mother of Spiral World echoed.

Ever since the Battle of the Heavenly River, these two stage-Two time beings often came to drink and chat with Lin Yuan, hoping to grow closer.

“It hasn’t been long since our last meeting. You must have something important,” Lin Yuan smiled. He enjoyed talking with them—after all, both had vast experience, and he could learn many interesting things from them.

“We do have something important,” the Mother of Spiral World said with a smile. “Brother Milky Way, have you heard of the Wanwei Time-Space?”

“Wanwei Time-Space?”

Lin Yuan nodded. “I know a bit.”

He had just bought detailed intel from the shopkeeper.

“The Wanwei Time-Space is opening. Lord Chu Wei has sent out a call—wants to bring us stage-Two beings in with him,” the Mother of Spiral World said directly. “There are danger zones in the Wanwei Time-Space, and Lord Chu Wei needs some Time Beings to scout them out. That’s why he’s hiring us.”

“Scouting?”

Lin Yuan understood.

The danger zones in the Wanwei Time-Space could threaten even Lords. No wonder someone wanted scouts.

“How much Time Sand is Lord Chu Wei offering?” Lin Yuan asked casually.

“Two thousand catties,” the Mother of Spiral World answered. “And if we find anything valuable inside, Lord Chu Wei is willing to purchase it with equivalent Time Sand.”

“I see.”

Lin Yuan nodded slightly.

Compared to the Night Mist Lord’s offer, Lord Chu Wei’s was far more demanding.

Not only was it just two thousand catties, but even the treasures found in the Wanwei Time-Space had to be sold.

Even though Lord Chu Wei promised fair compensation, many of the finds in the Wanwei Time-Space were unavailable elsewhere.

Whereas the Night Mist Lord only demanded obedience. Whatever Lin Yuan obtained, he wouldn’t interfere.

“Lord Chu Wei’s offer is already quite generous,”

Wan Chengkong chimed in. “The Wanwei Time-Space will stay open for millions or tens of millions of years. Just agreeing to go in means at least two thousand catties of Time Sand.”

He looked at Lin Yuan. “Brother Milky Way, want to come with us?”

“I’ll pass.”

Lin Yuan shook his head.

He did intend to enter the Wanwei Time-Space—but not with a group of other Lords, much less to act as a scout like the Mother of Spiral World and Wan Chengkong.

“Fair enough.”

The two didn’t think too much of it, assuming Lin Yuan just felt the Wanwei Time-Space was too dangerous.

And for stage-Two Time Beings, it really was dangerous. One could easily run into Lord-level threats in there.

But danger and opportunity went hand-in-hand.

Want to earn thousands of catties of Time Sand risk-free? Impossible.

And if one really stumbled upon a rare treasure—it’d be worth far more than just a few thousand catties.

After chatting with the two a bit longer—

Lin Yuan watched them depart.

“The Wanwei Time-Space will open in a hundred years.”

He thought to himself, “Besides cultivation, I can use this time to explore the fourth Source World.”

Among the thirty-three Source World coordinates deep within the Gate of Myriad Realms, he had already explored the first three.

“The fourth Source World.”

Lin Yuan focused his thoughts deep into his mind, looking toward the towering, majestic Gate of Myriad Realms.

Every time he looked at it, he felt something new. The higher his cultivation, the more awe-inspiring it became.

“Let’s take a look at this Source World.”

He calmed his mind, sent a sliver of consciousness through the coordinate, and used the Gate as an “intermediary” to quickly reach the edge of the fourth Source World.

He always did this before entering a new world—to get a general idea of what kind of world he was about to enter.

“Hm?”

Through the Gate’s “perspective,” many of the secrets of this Source World became clear to Lin Yuan.

Compared to the previous three, this one was extremely special—

It had just undergone a Great Destruction and was in a stage of rebirth.

At this stage, the Source World’s Dao Origins were fully exposed, countless opportunities lay everywhere, and even unimaginable lifeforms could be born.

“This…” Lin Yuan’s expression turned a little strange.

Even if he arrived countless years later than the strongest beings of this world, he could still quickly catch up and surpass them.

Now, with everyone at the same starting line during the world’s rebirth—

Wouldn’t he crush them outright?
