”Don’t worry about it,” Shinji replied, his expression awkward. “I think anyone would have reacted the same way.”
Luluane’s gaze softened as she watched him. Even though she had essentially ambushed him, he didn’t play the victim. He accepted the apology with a grace that made her heart swell all over again.

Tiana and Tiona froze. They looked at Shinji, then felt Padra’s voice hiss in their ears: ‘You really want her to find out about the “Contract” you two signed? Keep the lie going, girls.’
”He… he is very strong,” Tiana forced out, her face red. “And his heart is… good.”
”I understand why you fell for him,” Tiona added, playing the part of a lovestruck maiden. “We… we feel the same way.”
