They exchanged pleasantries until the staff vanished, but the moment the door clicked shut, Goddess Padra’s smile widened, sharpening into something far more predatory.
”Sooo? Since we’re meeting in total secret like this, it’s just as I figured, isn’t it?” Padra leaned in, her eyes dancing with amusement.
Arian sipped her tea, her expression carefully neutral, though her fingers tightened almost imperceptibly around the porcelain handle. “Indeed. Apostle Shinji is an invaluable existence.”
”Nfufu♡ You’re underestimating me, Arian. Or rather, you’re forgetting how this works. If a goddess gets finished inside1 (Nakadashi), we know immediately, don’t we? Arian let out a long, heavy sigh, her eyes narrowing as she glared at the goddess across the table. “Your cooperation is not required. You just want another excuse to mate with Shinji. Why don’t you simply raise a man to your own specifications if you are so desperate?”
”Impoooossible! You know perfectly well I couldn’t raise him while he’s still that young! If you won’t let me have him now, I’ll help with your plan so that even after he passes and you rebirth him as a half-god, I can still have him held in my arms♡”
”Absolutely not. Apostle Shinji is to serve as my personal aide. He has no time for the distractions of other goddesses.”

Arian stared at her, stunned. She knew Padra was vain, but the sheer, reckless audacity of admitting to a ‘human-fell’ situation was enough to silence her. Arian wrinkled her brow and exhaled a long, defeated breath.
”…Fine. If you are that committed to such a vulgar plan, I suppose I have little choice but to accommodate you.”

”To think you’d threaten me so brazenly…”

Arian resigned herself to the outcome.
