Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 1789: Finding a Gap

Chapter 1789: Finding a Gap

How in the world am I supposed to even get out of this place?! Around every corner, there is either a Land Creation Realm demon beast blocking the path or the lingering presence of a Star Creation Realm demon beast!

At the same time Chu Yang found himself a place to wait around for an opportunity to use the communication talisman, the master he was planning to call for help was finding himself in a troublesome situation, as he was unable to find any way to breakthrough the invisible barrier that had been formed by the demon beasts that had settled down around the core of the Verdant Abyss.

Even though he had managed to improve his movement technique and felt confident in escaping from a Land Creation Realm demon beast, he also understood that the second he was forced to use his movement technique to escape, it would be difficult to conceal himself. Inevitably attracting the attention of surrounding demon beasts.

For this reason, he had spent the past few days wandering around close to the edge of where the powerful demon beasts living inside the Verdant Abyss had settled down. Looking for a gap he could slip through without attracting any unwanted attention.

Unfortunately... As things would have it, this did not go as planned. Even after over a week passed, he still hadn’t managed to find a gap he could slip through. The sheer number of powerful demon beasts present in the Verdant Abyss far exceeding his expectations.

Going by a rough estimate, he had encountered the territories of over a hundred Land Creation Realm demon beasts and three that should have reached the Star Creation Realm.

Such a terrifying group of demon beasts, if placed outside the Verdant Abyss, would be more than powerful to devastate the Northern and Eastern Central Region. Only the Southern Central Region that was the strongest among the four central regions, and the Western Central Region that seemed to have some unique way to even make major powers from the Southern Central Region fear them seemed to be capable of dealing with so many powerful demon beasts.

But then again, this was only a small part of the entire Verdant Abyss. The total number of powerful demon beasts was bound to be far greater than what he had seen so far. Not to mention the even more terrifying creatures that might be lurking inside the abyss at the core of the Verdant Abyss.

If faced with all the demon beasts inside the Verdant Abyss, it was highly likely that even a mysterious and powerful region like the Western Central Region would perish. The only thing that ensured that this didn’t happen was the massive spatial formation that not only prevented teleportation inside the Verdant Abyss but also prevented the demon beasts inside from leaving.

In a sense, the ability to forcibly contain so many Land Creation and Star Creation Realm demon beasts were far more formidable than the ability to prevent teleportation inside the Verdant Abyss and was the main reason why he was certain that the formation had been set up by some ancient formation master that had far surpassed the Saint Realm. Reaching a realm where even those at the Star Creation Realm were rendered completely helpless in trying to break free from it.

Not to mention, the formation itself had clearly not weakened visibly, as it remained in an optimal state without any flaws appearing. The only thing he might be able to point towards being the slowly expanding abyss, but at least for now, it did not seem to interfere with the normal operation of the formation.

"Hm?" Continuing his journey searching for a gap to slip through the now seemingly impenetrable wall of demon beasts while pondering on the might of the Verdant Abyss Formation, he suddenly froze on the spot after sensing something different up ahead.

Whoosh~

Using his divine sense to get a better grasp of the situation, his eyes soon lit up. After discovering that the demon beast presence lingering around the new territory was significantly weaker compared to the surrounding territories, a clear indication that the demon beast that occupied the territory was either missing or had entered deep seclusion and would be unable to interact with the outside world for the time being.

No matter what it was, Xuan Hao understood that this was an opportunity he couldn’t give up on, as he finally had a relatively safe path out of the Verdant Abyss that wouldn’t involve him being forced to try and recklessly sneak through the territory of an active Land Creation Realm demon beast.

Of course, even knowing this was a great opportunity, he still decided to first explore the situation of the other nearby territories to ensure that the territory he was planning to move through wasn’t right next to a Star Creation Realm demon beast. After all, he would have no way to escape from that kind of demon beast and would do his best to avoid any kind of interaction with them if possible.

Luckily, after a few hours of scouting, he concluded that the demon beasts nearby were all around the Land Creation Realm with no Star Creation Realm demon beast in sight... And so, he didn’t hesitate any longer and directly began to make his way through the deserted demon beast territory. Starting the most dangerous part of his journey through the Verdant Abyss. Knowing that if he successfully made it through this part of the journey, it would be simple for him to make it the rest of the way out of the Verdant Abyss.

After all, now that he had improved his movement technique, he felt confident in escaping from the Land Creation Realm cultivator or demon beast he had encountered in the past. The main worry would be attracting too much attention and finding himself being surrounded and boxed in before he had the chance to escape... Or being chased by someone who was proficient in movement techniques.

At the end of the day, he was still in the Sea Formation Realm and in the face of a Land Creation Realm cultivator who specialized in movement techniques or a flying demon beast, it would be difficult for him to escape. Especially if the other party had surpassed the Early Stage of the Land Creation Realm.

...

Rumble~

At the same time Xuan Hao made his way into what he assumed to be a deserted territory without any powerful demon beast currently active inside of it. At the other end of said deserted territory, a towering demon beast emerged covered in blood from head to toe. In its grasp was a smaller, yet still massive demon beast that Xuan Hao would have instantly recognized as the demon beast that had chased him down for killing its child only a few weeks earlier.

However, with how it had burned its own life essence and had only barely been saved in time by the much larger demon beast, its current state was far from optimal, as even if it survived, it wasn’t likely to have more than a few hundred years left to live unless it managed to break through to a higher realm, something that would be close to impossible in its current damaged state.

Roar~

Seemingly understanding this as well, the demon beast in question let out a small reluctant roar as it had clearly given up on everything. Even being rescued, it was far from happy and seemed more depressed that the larger demon beast had ended up being injured saving it from the large number of human cultivators that had swarmed towards it the second it began to show even the slightest sign of weakening.

Roar!

Letting out a soft commanding roar in response, the larger demon beast glared at the smaller one filled with affection for a few seconds before informing the smaller one about something in their own unique language that instantly made the smaller one light up. Returning to life in an instant.

Seeing this, a small smile filled with an underlying hint of sorrow appeared on the large demon beast’s face before the two of them slowly began to make their way deeper into the territory that served as their home. Neither of them hurrying back, as they didn’t believe anyone would be bold enough to enter their territory just because they had been gone for a few weeks.

After all, their territory was by far the strongest among the surrounding demon beast territories, with more than just a single powerful demon beast watching over it.

For this reason, they ended up moving far slower than Xuan Hao, who was fully intending on getting through the territory as fast as possible. After all, the faster he made it out on the other side, the faster he would be able to leave the Verdant Abyss and make his way towards the ancient alchemy sect with Huo fen and Meng Jie.

In the end, this resulted in Xuan Hao being the first to reach the core of what he assumed to be a deserted demon beast territory...
