At the same time Xuan Hao found himself becoming increasingly worried about how to shake off the demon beasts chasing him, somewhere else in the Verdant Abyss, the Land Creation Realm cultivator he had ended up dumping a demon beast on top of not too long ago, was silently complaining to himself as he was making his way deeper into the Verdant Abyss with his subordinates following close behind.

Back then, after the original target of his anger ran away by forcibly using teleportation inside the Verdant Abyss through what he assumed to be a spatial teleportation talisman, the demon beast that had already started burning its own lifespan began a desperate struggle. Attracting the attention from nearby cultivators, some of which had reached the Land Creation Realm.

Because of this and given how he planned to continue chasing Xuan Hao down, he decided to ally with these cultivators to take out the rampaging Land Creation Ream demon beast, something that proved rather simple, as one of the Land Creation Realm cultivators happened to be a Saint Realm Formation Master who specialized in sealing formations. Limiting the demon beast’s ability to fight back with an especially powerful sealing formation.

However, just when everything seemed like it was about to come to an end, a second, far more powerful demon beast suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Forcibly breaking through the sealing formation to grab the already half dead demon beast before attempting to run away.

Of course, there was no way any of them intended to just let this demon beast run away with what they perceived to be their price, so everyone had worked together to slay this new demon beast.

But... This demon beast was far stronger than the first one. Even working together, they didn’t manage to stop it, as it escaped. Essentially wasting all their earlier effort in taking down the other demon beast.

Angered, he originally wanted to satiate this anger by taking down the Sea Formation Realm cultivator who had started this entire thing to begin with, but, as he tracked him down and teleported to the location he should have ended up, he was shocked to discover that the other party had actually decided to teleport for a second time, something that was normally taboo considering the danger of ending up inside the abyss.

So... In the end, he could only give up on continuing to try and chase after Xuan Hao. Spending the next few days returning to where he had instructed his subordinates to wait for him before he resumed his earlier expedition into the Verdant Abyss. Intent on doing his best to forget the entire situation and just pretend like nothing had happened.

Tragically, just as he was starting to come to terms with everything, he sensed a familiar presence at the very edge of his divine sense... And from the looks of things, that familiar presence also sensed him, as it rushed straight towards him without showing any sign of slowing down.

This... I have a bad feeling about this...

Feeling an odd sense of déjà vu, the Land Creation Realm cultivator didn’t hesitate for more than a second before he directly grabbed all his subordinates and threw them into his personal flying artifact before flying in the exact opposite direction of this familiar presence...

Rumble~!

And not a second after this, did he feel several powerful demon beasts no weaker than himself, some even stronger than him following directly behind this familiar presence who was none other than Xuan Hao.

Had he been a second too late in his retreat, he would have ended up being used by this little Sea Formation Realm cultivator two times in a- no... With the heavenly sword he had essentially blocked for him in the past, it would be three times in a row!

"This... He escaped so fast. Not even giving me a chance to overtake him..."

Seeing all this playing out through his divine sense from a distance, Xuan Hao could not help smiling somewhat wryly to himself as he watched the Land Creation Realm cultivator, he had just spotted jump into a large flying artifact in the form of a flying ship before escaping in the opposite direction of himself with all his subordinates. Not even giving him a chance to catch up, as he began escaping before the demon beast even entered the range of his divine sense.

If not for the fact that he recognized the Land Creation Realm cultivator as the one he had already burnt twice in the past, he would have found such a fearful reaction from a Land Creation Realm cultivator rather odd.

However, given how the brief interaction between the two of them had played out so far, this kind of reaction was understandable. Especially so considering how he wasn’t attempting to slow down or avoid the other party.

If it was any other Land Creation Realm cultivators, it would have been fine, as they would at most have found the entire situation a bit odd to see someone at the Sea Formation Realm rushing in their direction, but nothing more than that. After all, in their eyes, the divine sense of someone in the Sea Formation Realm would be far smaller than that of someone in the Land Creation Realm.

But this one... He was far too fast to react and was the worst possible Land Creation Realm cultivator he could have encountered, as he would be the only one that would escape so decisively when faced with someone who was an entire major realm below themselves.

Then again... At the end of the day, this decisiveness ended up paying off, as Xuan Hao ultimately found himself unable to catch up with the flying artifact ship. At most able to very slowly close the distance, as the artifact ship itself was burdened with carrying a little over a thousand people, while he himself was only carrying two people.

Hopefully more Land Creation Realm cultivators will show up to join in on the fun.

Shaking his head as he thought this to himself while continuing to follow closely behind the flying artifact ship, Xuan Hao silently prayed that he would encounter another Land Creation realm cultivator, one that wouldn’t escape as fast as the one in front of him...

"YOU DARE ENTER THIS LORD’S TERRITORY!?"

And soon enough, his wish was fulfilled, as an enraged roar filled with anger could be heard up ahead, as it seemed like the flying artifact ship had forcibly entered a part of the Verdant Abyss that had seemingly been claimed by another powerful cultivator, one who surpassed the Land Creation Realm cultivator on the flying artifact ship.

Of course, the person who was being yelled at, didn’t care in the slightest about this angry roar and continued rushing forward without showing any sign of explaining himself... And much like him, Xuan Hao did the same, as he made sure to lower his own presence as much as possible and make himself seem like a subordinate to the Land Creation Realm cultivator in front.

Whoosh~!

In the end, this worked perfectly, as the attention of the powerful cultivator was focused entirely of the flying artifact ship. Ignoring him completely after a scan revealed his cultivation to be in the Sea Formation Realm.

Strong as this might be in normal circumstances, it wasn’t at the level that worried someone in the Land Creation Realm. Instead, another Land Creation Realm cultivator was far more important to keep an eye on.

Unfortunately for this Land Creation Realm cultivator, he had no idea about what was about to happen, as he essentially allowed both the flying artifact ship and Xuan Hao to pass through the territory he had settled down in without engaging the two of them after his first furious roar.

From a glance, it was clear he didn’t really want to fight and intended to let them pass with an angry glance to go.

Only when both the artifact flying ship and Xuan Hao had passed him, did he realize what the two of them were running from-

As the demon beasts that had been chasing behind them made themselves known at the edge of his divine sense. Allowing him to put two and two together, as he suddenly found himself becoming the very first obstacle the demon beast had to pass through to reach Xuan Hao.

The first official barrier to slow down the demon beasts that he had missed out on with a rather unlucky first run in with a Land Creation Realm cultivator...

Even if the person in question didn’t seem that appreciative of his new position, Xuan Hao decided to not think too much about and just felt happy that there now was someone around to block the bat demon beast from reaching him...
