Chapter 1807: Regaining Control At the Last Second
Chapter 1807: Regaining Control At the Last Second
Feeling the sea of light receding around him after an unknown time had passed, Xuan Hao not only felt his soul had become far stronger compared to before but also noticed that his surroundings had changed. Instead of an empty void or a sea of light, he now found himself floating in an empty sky with only a single star present.
The star itself looked small and almost imperceptible, but focusing on it, he was able to see a seemingly endless sea of light that looked all too familiar to him at his point in time.
The star... Is the sea of light from earlier? Or perhaps the sea of light originates from that star...
Thinking this to himself as he looked at the star floating on its own in a corner of the empty sky, he now found himself floating in, Xuan Hao wanted to investigate the situation closer-
Whoosh~
But before he had the chance to do so, he felt a familiar irresistible pull taking hold of his soul body. Pulling it out of the empty sky before dragging it back down again towards what he could only assume was the location he had been dragged up from to the strange void in the first place.
I hope my body is still around...
Knowing that he was about to be thrown back into the Verdant Abyss again, Xuan Hao did not feel the slightest bit happy about his current situation, as he understood full well that he was far from safe.
Even if time ran slower inside the strange void, it didn’t stand still...
For this reason, as he managed to successfully return to his physical body, the first thing he noticed about his situation was that a Land Creation Realm demon beast had already opened its mouth to swallow him together with Hup Fen and Meng Jie, who in a sense had not even noticed his soul had left his body.
Taking in his current situation as the open mouth of the demon beast began to slowly chomp down on him, Xuan Hao realized that he had been missing from his body for a little under half a second. Not exactly a long time, but more than enough time for his body to fall all the way to the back of the group of escaping cultivators and end up about to be swallowed whole by one of the demon beasts from the demon beast horde.
The only positive about his current situation was the fact that he had managed to get back before his body was swallowed along with Huo Fen and Meng Jie.
Oh... And the fact that the demon beast about to swallow him had not yet realized that it wasn’t about to swallow a soulless body-
Booom-!
ROOAR!?
Giving him the perfect opportunity to knock the demon beast back before it could react and launch himself away from the other demon beasts who were almost instantaneously attracted by the commotion.
ROooar!
Roooaaaar-!
ROAR!
The close distance making it impossible for him to simply slip past the demon beasts, as close to a dozen demon beasts with more than three at the Land Creation Realm charging at him filled with greed. Eager for the opportunity to swallow a powerful cultivator.
Not that Xuan Hao had any plans of lingering around for them to overwhelm him, as he directly used the Illusory Light Steps to try and dodge the incoming demon beast-
Swish~
"Huh...?"
However, different from the narrow escape he had originally expected to play out faced with so many demon beasts jumping at him together, he instead found himself easily slipping past the two demon beasts that had been blocking his path forward before escaping from the demon beast horde and joining the group of weaker cultivators.
Normally, this should have been impossible considering one of the demon beasts that had been blocking his path had been in the Land Creation Realm, but he had somehow managed to move past it with relative ease, something that should not have been possible to accomplish with his current strength. Taking him completely by surprise, as his own speed with the Illusory Light Steps had ended up surprising even him.
This... The soul enhancement from that strange sea of light didn’t just increase the strength of my soul but also allowed me to increase my comprehension of the Dao of Light. Not just that, but the experience inside that strange void also seems to have improved my comprehension of the Dao of Time!
Although his comprehension of the two Daos hadn’t broken through to a higher realm, it had deepened significantly compared to before. Allowing him to utilize the Illusory Light Steps far more efficiently compared to before. Improving his speed far beyond what it had been in the past.
But that was not the most important factor. Instead, it was the fact that he seemed to have grasped a way to merge the Dao of Time and the Dao of Light more smoothly during his time trapped in the strange void. Allowing his modifications of the Illusory Light Steps to become far more easily applied. Meaning that the overall speed of the movement speed had reached a completely new realm, even while carrying Huo Fen and Meng Jie along with him.
Now, he not only didn’t have to worry about catching up with the group who had managed to distance itself from the weaker cultivators and the demon beast horde by now, but he also felt somewhat confident in being able to reach the edge of the Verdant Abyss before the Star Creation Realm demon beast showed up.
In fact, if he decided to dump Huo Fen and his disciple on the spot, he was certain he would be able to reach the edge of the Verdant Abyss before the Star Creation realm demon beast could catch.
Of course... He wasn’t planning to do something like that after all the trouble he had gone through trying to keep the two of them alive.
As for the Sky Watchers Notes still tucked away inside his interspatial ring... He would find an opportunity to investigate them in more depth when everything settled down again and he had the time to do so...
