Chapter 1827: Practical Combat Lesson (4)
Chapter 1827: Practical Combat Lesson (4)
Wasting no time as he arrived in front of the injured Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator, Xuan Hao began directly clashing with him. Showing off a level of strength that was more than strong enough to contend head on with someone in the Celestial Immortal Realm.
"This... To think someone in the Earth Immortal Realm (Dao Seed Realm) would be capable of facing someone in the Celestial Immortal Realm in an equal battle without losing out..."
"Indeed, strong, but not enough for us to- Huh!? YOU!? TRYING TO MOVE PAST ME!?"
As two of the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators located at around the same distance away from the treasury below began chatting with each other filled with amazement upon seeing someone in the Dao Seed Realm clashed with a Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator head on without losing ground, one of the two decided to take the opportunity to rush past his former opponent and take the lead he had lost only a short time earlier before Xuan Hao’s appearance.
Although the other party did attempt to intervene and keep his leading position, he was ultimately too slow to react, causing the lead he had fought so hard for, to disappear by the time he once again resumed his earlier battle-
Boom-Boom- Boom!
But... In a way the clash between the two Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators and the battle between Xuan Hao and the injured Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator ended up causing the rest of the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators to spring into action to ensure that they wouldn’t end up facing a similar fate as the one whose position had just been overtaken.
Soon enough, causing the rest of the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators to start clashing with each other again, Xuan Hao essentially took the original spot of the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator he had already partially dealt with.
The soul of the Celestial Immortal Realm, having managed to escape before ending up destroyed along with the physical body.
Troublesome as this might be considered, he didn’t really think too much about the fate of the soul that had just barely managed to escape from him as it was far too weak to cause any problems. If that Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator managed to recover his strength within the next decade that would be a miracle, while recovering back to his peak state could take as long as a century would be normal.
At least for the foreseeable future, he wouldn’t have to deal with the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator and could focus entirely on dealing with the injured Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator in front of him. Making sure to focus on the areas where the injuries of this Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator were located, causing a rather serious expression to form on the face of his opponent, as he realized his injuries had already been discovered by his opponent.
But... To ensure that this group of Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators didn’t just outright decide to gang up on him, as he was a bit too weak to take on so many Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators at the same time in his current state, Xuan Hao had deliberately pretended to be a bit weaker than he really was. Portraying himself as someone equal to the injured Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator while also refraining from pushing his advantage too much.
In turn, the rest of the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators no longer viewed him as a great threat, but instead just treated him as a replacement for the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator that he had just dealt with.
Everything worked out well, as the battlefield that had shown signs of becoming more chaotic with his arrival calmed down and returned to a somewhat stable phase.
This was part of his next lesson for his disciple observing the battle from a distance. Not just planning to teach him how to properly take advantage of an injured opponent, but maybe more importantly than that, showing him to properly blend in with the rest while using this time to analyze his opponents and their attacks before he would end up facing them.
Obvious as his own actions might be to someone like himself, he understood that his disciple might not fully understand what he was doing-
"Chu Yang, can you hear me?"
For this reason, he decided to dedicate part of his divine sense to teaching Chu Yang on the side while he fought with the injured Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator and analyzed the rest from a distance...
"Huh!? M-master!? Aren’t you fighting someone right now!?"
"Hm? Oh... Yes, I am, but that person is hardly troublesome for me to deal with."
"Not... Troublesome..."
Hearing the somewhat speechless voice of his disciple echoing out from the other side, Xuan Hao could not help silently chuckling to himself.
Indeed, the injured Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator was hardly difficult for him to deal with even with his current reduced strength. Simply hitting a weak point would easily shatter any attacks that came his way,
So... With all of that in mind and believing that he had to ensure that the original goal of this battle was kept intact as a teaching experience for his younger disciple, Xuan Hao decided to dedicate most of his time towards teaching Chu Yang any underhand moves or other weakness he took advantage of during the battle.
As a result of this, the injured Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator who was already struggling to ensure that he remained on equal footing with his opponent. Found himself being overwhelmed by countless weird and strange techniques that Xuan Hao came up with shortly after he accepted the new side quest.
And, as the thought of this pitiful Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator clearly displayed, one of these unique techniques involved throwing out a spirit towards the opponent, the high concentration of qi inside the spirit stone causing the opponent to overreact and believe a powerful attack was about to head his way. The stronger the spirit stone, the better the effect.
After all, in the middle of a battle where every second counted, one wouldn’t think twice about putting up defense when faced with a sudden ball of concentrated qi flew one’s way.
Of course, using a spirit stone this way didn’t do any damage. Instead, it was used as a distraction. Allowing a quick follow attack from another direction or a quick retreat.
Outside of that, using a spirit stone was also expensive, as to fool a Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator, he would at least have to sacrifice around ten top grade spirit stones.
Fine as a single test or a last second sneak attack but using this kind of technique repeatedly can quickly bankrupt even the wealthiest of empires. Not to mention, the effect of this kind of technique lessened significantly after the first use, as the other party would be more cautious after being hit once from taking the bait.
Not that this made the move any less infuriating to the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator he was fighting, as falling for this kind of low-level bait was a rather embarrassing thing.
But this was far from the end, as the torture continued, with Xuan Hao deciding to take this opportunity to test out several new techniques and ideas as well.
In the end, as the situation dragged on for the next five minutes with the two of them still looking to be equal to outsiders, the injured Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator finally seemed to have had enough of this and thus ended up throwing a talisman to block Xuan Hao for a brief second before turning around to leave. Not wanting to get any more strange techniques thrown his way.
But...
Boom!
"Huh...?"
There was no way Xuan Hao could allow this to happen, as this Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator had turned out to not only be a great tool for testing out his new ideas, but also a great way to show off different combat techniques to Chu Yang who had been intently watching the intense battle from a distance alongside the group of formation masters behind him.
As a result of his path being blocked by Xuan Hao who had finally decided to show off his comprehension of the Dao of Space again, he couldn’t contain his anger at the rather humiliating situation, as he directly asked Xuan Hao through his divine sense. Believing that the other party would let him go after he stated his withdrawal.
"..."
"You...!"
But he was soon left rather surprised when Xuan Hao jumped forward to continue the battle. Forcing the injured Celestial Immortal to continue this rather troublesome battle that had begun to feel more like some kind of lesson where the teacher was showing off different styles for the disciples watching from afar to learn from than an actual battle between two equals...
