Chapter 1829: Practical Combat Lesson (6)
Witnessing another Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator dying, this time with the soul not being able to escape in time, the rest of the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators paused their battles once again as they looked towards the one behind this death with far more shock than they had when Xuan Hao had destroyed the physical body of the arrogant Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator earlier.
After all, the one Xuan Hao had cut down could still recover in the future and wasn’t truly dead. At most losing a few hundred years rebuilding his physical body, while the one who had just been cut down not only had his physical body destroyed, but also his soul. Meaning that he was dead for good with no chance of recovery in the future.
What Xuan Hao did was unlikely to provoke a response from the ancestor behind the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator who had lost his physical body, while the second who had ended up dying for real would almost certainly attract the ire of the ancestor behind that Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator.
Even if the other party wouldn’t be able to show up immediately, the time left before the struggle taking place inside the ancient alchemy sect ruins began to involve forces beyond the Middle Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm wouldn’t be long. At most another ten or so minutes.
In other words, if anyone still wanted to get their hands on the treasury hidden below, they would have to do so before the stronger cultivators appeared and potentially showed an interest in the treasury, they had been fighting for so far... And for Xuan Hao, this essentially meant that he would not just have to finish the battle before anyone appeared but would also have to leave the place with his disciple to avoid being dragged into any large-scale battle.
As for Huo Fen and Meng Jie still inside the ancient alchemy sect ruins? He would go and pick them up after getting Chu Yang and his friends out. After all, the location they were in wouldn’t be that easy to reach. Even for someone in the Land Creation Realm. So, he wasn’t too worried about them and the Stardust Essence that should be hidden somewhere around that place...
Whoosh~!
But, as Xuan Hao and the rest found themselves distracted thinking about the implications of the death just now, the person behind the death didn’t waste any time after having ensured that his enemy had been killed. Turning around before directly escaping from the ancient alchemy sect ruins.
No matter how much he might have wanted to continue fighting for the treasury below, he understood that staying behind waiting for the ancestor of the one he had just killed to show up was far from a good idea. Instead of that, escaping and ensuring his own safety was a far better choice. Especially considering that he would be able to escape with relative ease unless someone jumped in to try and stall him.
However, given that everyone still had their attention focused on the treasury below and were unwilling to just give up on it, no one stepped forward to try and stop him from running away-
Bang!
Well... Almost no one, as Xuan Hao saw this as the perfect opponent for him to fight now that he had already used up his trump cards. After all, his focus wasn’t on the treasury below, but instead on teaching his disciple how to fight stronger opponents, he couldn’t care less about the treasures hidden below.
Not to mention, he already had a bad feeling about the place below and felt that it might not be a good idea to be the first one to explore that place. Allowing these Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators so eager for treasures to explore the place first was therefore the best option in his eyes.
In a way, it might also prove crucial to him taking down this group of Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators with his current reduced strength.
"Huh!? You- Don’t block me!"
At the same time Xuan Hao went through his plan for hopefully dealing with all of these Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators by relying on whatever danger lurked below, the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator who had been filled with killing intent earlier when cutting down one of the two injured Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators found himself shocked by the sudden attack from Xuan Hao who was already locked in a battle with another Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator. Never having expected him to jump forward to attack him before he could escape.
"..."
Seeing this as well, the one who had been fighting with Xuan Hao so far didn’t say anything and instead showed a look of relief on his face. Silently happy with the sudden unexpected development, as he now didn’t have to face the terrifying pressure from Xuan Hao by himself.
But... At the same time, he was rather confused as to why Xuan Hao was doing this to someone who had been about to leave the battlefield.
Thinking about it, he realized that it had been the same for him when he had tried to leave the battlefield.
Does he have some reason for not allowing us to leave...?
As he thought about it, he couldn’t help feeling like there was something more to this and the behavior of Xuan Hao. Making him analyze his surroundings for anything that might point to his reason for stopping them when they wanted to leave. Already going to the worst possible situation that might involve some kind of demonic sacrificial formation that needed them to stay within this part of the ancient alchemy sect ruins.
In fact, the sudden thought that a demonic sacrificial formation might be present made him start to look at Xuan Hao differently than he had before. Part of him started to think his overwhelming strength at the Dao Seed Realm didn’t have to do with his overwhelming comprehension but instead had to do with some kind of demonic art that had allowed his strength to reach this level.
In a way this was far more believable. The problem was... No matter how hard he looked for any traces of demonic cultivation, he couldn’t find any.
But not just him, the rest of the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators were equally taken aback by Xuan Hao’s actions, as they had never thought he would be bold enough to step forward and try to stop the one who had just killed another Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator.
After all, even if the other party had already used his own life saving artifacts and treasures to deal with his opponent just now, he was still clearly someone stronger than normal with how he had been able to kill someone in the Celestial Immortal Realm.
For Xuan Hao to not only challenge someone like that but to do so while already locked in battle with someone was nothing short of bewildering to the rest of the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators.
But maybe even more surprising to them was the fact that Xuan Hao managed to hold his own in the face of the two Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators now attacking him. Relying almost entirely on the speed provided by his Drifting Cloud Steps to ensure that he was able to keep up with the two of them and stop them from escaping like both were now actively attempting to do whenever his attention switched to the other one.
In the end, they found themselves making no progress even with Xuan Hao’s attention divided between the two of them. Making it clear to both that he had not been going all out earlier, while at the same time making them even more uneasy about why he was forcing them to stay and not allowing them to escape. The idea of a potential trap of some kind becoming more logical to the two, even if none of them had found any clues that pointed towards it being a trap.
Unaware of the simple fact that Xuan Hao was just fighting the two of them at the same time because it provided his disciple with a valuable experience when it came to fighting more than just one powerful opponent at the same time.
As for the reaction of Chu Yang and the rest, they were all filled with admiration towards Xuan Hao for being able to take on two Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators at the same time with his cultivation so severely limited.
The admiration they had felt earlier being almost entirely due to his overwhelming strength, while now, it was also because of the terrifying display of skill that allowed even someone like them to see ways that they themselves could potentially overwhelm opponents stronger than themselves.
Although not to the same degree as what was being shown, they would at least be more confident when it came to facing someone one or two minor realms above themselves in the future. Only Chu Yang dared to think about reaching the level currently displayed by his master when he reached the Dao Seed Realm in terms of strength...
