Chapter 1847: Struggles of a Demon Beast, Dead End (5)

Left behind to fight the illusory construct as the other two had left while the third had been knocked into the distance with no sign of returning any time soon, the Land Creation Realm cultivator who had been focusing entirely on fighting with the illusory construct, slowly began moving in the opposite direction that the other two had gone in-

Swish-!

And taking the opportunity just after having avoided an attack from the illusory construct, he dashed backwards into a large pillar. Passing through it in a similar manner as to how he had phased through the wall at the back of the towering pagoda’s base not too long ago.

"Hehe, those two have been completely fooled by that little demon beast, the trail they are following is a false one that should have been created by the ancient formation. If they had just observed their surroundings a bit closer, they would have noticed the lingering presence of that little demon beast near the pillar and realized what was happening. How unfortunate... For them!" Chuckling to himself as he looking around the new space he had just entered, the Land Creation Realm cultivator could not help feeling a certain sense of superiority over his peers knowing that he was the only one who had managed to figure this out.

But more so than that, he felt overjoyed knowing that he would be the only person left to confront the injured little demon beast. Essentially meaning that he wouldn’t have any competitors when it came to claiming the Land Creation Realm demon beast’s body for himself after killing it.

Even better, if he played out things well, he might be able to hide the fact that he had managed to get his hands on the shadowy demon beast. Ensuring that those three wouldn’t be able to target him or try to disturb him while he attempted to break through to the Middle Stage of the Land Creation Realm.

Smiling even wider, the more he thought about his glorious future, the Land Creation Realm cultivator continued moving through the dilapidated hallway that he now found himself inside of. Following the traces of blood that had been left behind by the shadowy demon beast when it had escaped through this place not too long ago. The blood itself was simple for him to follow, while also making it clear that the shadowy demon beast was now far too badly injured to erase these traces and was far more focused on getting as far away as possible as fast as possible.

Although this would have worked under normal circumstances if he had chosen to follow the false traces that the others had been chasing, now that he had already figured out what the little demon beast was planning, it was difficult for it to escape. After all, injured, its speed had been decreasing steadily as the injuries worsened. Having now reached a speed that was far slower than someone at the Land Creation Realm and was at most comparable to someone in the Middle Stage of the Sea Formation Realm.

For this reason, it didn’t take him that long to catch up with the shadowy demon beast. Soon enough spotting it trying to run covered in countless big and small injuries, it had ended up suffering back when it had been pinned to the ground earlier.

Hehe, how lucky, this little unexpected trip wasn’t wasted!

Smiling with joy as he spotted the already half dead demon beast struggling at the brink of death, there was no hesitation as he rushed forward with a large spear in hand before launching one of his strongest attacks towards the helpless demon beast that had no way to defend itself properly in its current state.

Rumble~

Roar!?

Feeling the oppressive sensation of the spear rushing towards it with the full might of a seasoned Land Creation Realm cultivator who put his full strength into the attack, the shadowy demon beast barely had time to react before the attack arrived. Turning around just in time to see the spear tip only a few meters away, a distance far too short for it to do anything in its current injured state to resist the attack.

Giving up its physical body wasn’t exactly an option either, as demon beast followed a different path compared to human cultivators that, closely associated with the physical body.

While far stronger than humans when it came to their physical body and strength, their souls lacked the ability to easily abandon their physical body in the same way human cultivators could leave their physical body to escape in the face of certain death, their souls far more integrated with their physical bodies.

Not to mention, demon beasts didn’t really have a way to learn how to separate their souls from their bodies in the first place and didn’t really have anyone to teach them how to do this. Resulting in most demon beasts found in the wild at the Nascent Soul Realm and above not knowing how to separate their soul from their body due to the difficulty involved for them to do so compared to human cultivators who could do so with relative ease...

BAAAAANG-!

Because of this, the shadowy demon beast could only put up what little defense it could to try and block the incoming spear-

PTSH-!

A helpless endeavor, as the spear easily pierced through the small shadow barrier that formed in front of it before piercing directly into the right shoulder of the shadowy demon beast, a quick movement allowing the shadowy demon beast to avoid a worst-case scenario by moving its should up just enough to shield the original target of the spear, its head.

"Hmph! Think this can save you?" Not at all concerned about this development, the Land Creation Realm cultivator sneered in disdain before allowing the power stored inside the spear to explode outwards-

BOOOM-!

Rooooaaar-!

Blowing up the right shoulder of the shadowy demon beast’s front legs before allowing the rampaging energy to surge forward and continue deeper into the now struggling demon beast that could do nothing to resist this terrifying spear.
