Chapter 1858: Leaving the Ancient Alchemy Sect Ruins

Feeling the spear rapidly approaching and understanding that it had somehow gained the ability to follow in case he attempted to use the Drifting Cloud Steps to dodge, Xuan Hao found himself in a rather dangerous situation, as even though he would be more than capable of blocking the spear a second time, he still had to deal with the second Land Creation Realm cultivator who had also joined in on this second attack. Having seemingly come to some sort of cooperative agreement with the spear-wielding Land Creation Realm cultivator that had both working together to get rid of him first before returning their attention to the still intact section of the ancient alchemy sect now behind them.

The reason why this kind of cooperative relationship could even happen being rather obvious, as the two concluded that Xuan Hao had already managed to get his hands on the most valuable treasures and had only left behind the less valuable things due to a lack of time.

Although this was accurate to some extent, it wasn’t the truth, as there were still several ancient buildings that should be filled to the brim with treasures that he hadn’t had the time to go through. In a way, he had just targeted the place where most of the ancient buildings, potentially filled with treasures, were located. In the grand scheme of things, he might have barely gotten his hands on thirty percent of what was hidden inside the intact section of the ancient alchemy ruins.

Of course, there was no way for the two now bend on killing him would know this, as those ancient buildings still had barely functioning formations guarding them. Preventing a cursory glance through divine sense from picking up anything. Making the entire place seem almost completely empty after his quick sweep of the place.

But... This wasn’t entirely a bad thing, as he understood that the second those formations broke would be the time that this little temporary alliance to hunt him down disappeared and the spatial restriction that affected him was only on his movement. Barely managing to utilize his dao domain in combination with his sword to block the spear of the Land Creation Realm cultivator.

Placing himself in a rather precarious position as he silently began using the Drifting Cloud Steps to get himself away from the second Land Creation Realm cultivator who was fast approaching, something that would have been impossible to do with the current spatial restrictions in place without being hit-

"Huh? This is...!"

But the destruction of the ancient formations behind him ended up working out just like he had expected, as the second Land Creation Realm cultivator who was about to reach him suddenly seemed to freeze on the spot for a moment before turning around to make his way back in the direction of the still intact ancient alchemy sect buildings. Giving up on continuing to chase him like he had expected.

Whoosh~!

And not one to waste an opportunity, he used this chance to slip away with the help of the Drifting Cloud Steps. Placing the spear-wielding Land Creation Realm cultivator with the difficult choice of continuing to chase or to make his way back to the intact part of the ancient alchemy sect to fight for the now exposed treasures that remained.

"YOU- ARGH! DAMN IT!"

A choice that was simple enough, as there was no guarantee that he would be able to stop Xuan Hao before he got out of the ancient alchemy sect ruins without any help, as he directly recalled the star shaped spatial restriction artifact and made his way back to join in on the treasure hunt before everything was gone.

After all, outside of not being certain whether he would even be able to catch Xuan Hao, there was also the simple fact that the other Land Creation Realm cultivator was also an old opponent of his... And while he might be uncertain about whether Xuan Hao would come and kill him later in case, he became stronger, he was certain that this old enemy of his wouldn’t hesitate to kill him if he got the opportunity to do so.

In that way, there wasn’t much of a choice when choosing between allowing a stranger whom he had little interaction with like Xuan Hao to get away with resources that would undoubtedly help him grow stronger and an old enemy.

The deadly escape that should have originally played out with two Land Creation Realm cultivators chasing after him didn’t end up happening, as the two of them soon found themselves locked in a struggle between each other for the resources that were still left behind in the somewhat intact section of the ancient alchemy sect ruins. None of them bothered to cast a second glance towards Xuan Hao after they made their decision on abandoning their chase.

Feeling somewhat disappointed that the spear-wielding Land Creation Realm cultivator had given up on chasing after him, Xuan Hao silently glanced back in the direction of the intact section of the ancient alchemy sect that had by now become the battlefield of two Land Creation Realm cultivators. Far from being intact, the entire place was quickly reduced to rubble as the two powerful cultivators fought with each other for the resources scattered throughout the ruins. Making sure to also keep an eye on him in the process in case he decided to interfere and try to get his hands on more cultivation resources and treasures from the rubble. In which case, they would undoubtedly join forces to suppress him.

"Well... Guess this is fine as well..." Muttering this to himself as he watched the two Land Creation Realm cultivators clashing with each other from a distance, Xuan Hao decided to not linger around for too long.

Not just because he wanted to leave the ancient alchemy sect ruins and get back to the sect, but also because the longer he stayed, the higher the chance was of the remaining two Land Creation Realm cultivators showing up. In which case, there was a chance of these four coming to some sort of agreement to first kill him before resuming their little internal struggle for cultivation resources, something he didn’t plan to stay around to experience after realizing that there was not only a way for these Land Creation Realm cultivators to restrict his usage of the Dao of Space for movement, but also a way for them to lock on to him and follow him even after using a spatial movement technique to avoid.

And this was only the means of one of the Land Creation Realm cultivators for countering him, he didn’t dare think about what kind of treasures or techniques these four might pull out in case they became serious about killing him.

Instead of that, he preferred to just leave ahead of time and not get any more involved in the increasingly chaotic battle for the ancient alchemy sect ruins. Especially so because he sensed that the level of this ancient alchemy sect far exceeded the value of what these four Land Creation Realm cultivators could swallow on their own.

When news spread in the future, he wouldn’t be surprised if this place ended up attracting attention from cultivators outside the Eastern Central Region. Potentially even attracting the attention of some powerful figure in the Star Creation Realm.

With all of that in mind, Xuan Hao didn’t spare any effort as he used his now unrestricted Drifting Cloud Steps to easily return to the mountainous region, where he soon made his way out through one of the passages leading out of the ancient alchemy sect ruins and into the outside world. Encountering no challenges along the way, as everyone else had long since left the ancient alchemy sect ruins, while the ancient formations and powerful demon beasts that might have originally blocked his path had already been dealt with by the four Land Creation Realm cultivators who had already swept through the place.

In the end, with relatively little to no effort, Xuan Hao managed to safely return to the small village where Huo Fen, Meng Jie and the demon beast were obediently waiting for his return. Wasting no time on words as he swept the three of them up with his domain before making his way back in the direction of the Star Shattering Sect.

Not taking more than a few minutes before once again stepping foot inside the territory of the Star Shattering Sect along with the three future members of the sect.
