Chapter 1869 New Training Ground
Chapter 1869 New Training Ground
Following the spiritual water flood that swept through the sect and turned a large number of the sect's elders homeless in an instant, Elder Song took the opportunity to reorganize the sect's somewhat messy infrastructure and rearrange different areas more specifically for residences and shops. Moving away from the rather chaotic manner that the sect had originally been constructed.
In a way, almost all the shops that had originally been located on the Seventh Star Peak ended up being moved to the base of the mountain with only a few of the more well-known ones being able to remain.
The reason for this being rather simple, the space on the Seventh Star Peak was limited and with the presence of the qi spring lake, the cultivation environment on the Seventh Star Peak was far better than the rest of the Shattered Star Peaks. Even if the rest of the Shattered Star Peaks still had far superior cultivation environment than outside, nobody wanted to cultivate in a worse environment when a better one was available.
Although a few shops being present were indispensable, the flood helped clear out several shops that had been set up by different elders next to the different spiritual water channels. Allowing Elder Song to justifiably replace them with some higher quality cultivation abodes as a reward for talented disciples. Allowing them to stay in these better cultivation locations by winning tournaments or keeping a certain ranking on different rankings that had been established by Elder Song to help encourage the disciples to continue working hard.
The rankings in question didn't just cover who was the strongest or who progressed the furthest in cultivation but also covered countless other things from alchemy and blacksmithing to who had managed to complete the most sect missions. The latter one being the most competitive as it would reset every month.
For the disciples, there were far more ways to earn not just get a chance to stay in a good cultivation abode but also earn a lot of contribution points by keeping a certain ranking on one of the rankings.
In a way, the elders had become quite envious of these rankings that the disciples had, as it was essentially a way for these disciples to earn free contribution points and other rewards without doing anything out of the ordinary outside of working harder to improve themselves… And it was during the reconstruction of the sect following the flood that had caused countless elders to bleed as they couldn't wait for the sect to reconstruct the disciple abodes and get to helping reconstruct their homes, that a group of them had gone directly to Elder Song to beg him for similar rankings for the elders.
Because of this, Elder Song decided to relent and release a few rankings for these elders to compete amongst themselves for a few free rewards.
But…
Elder Song had long since expected something like this to happen and took full advantage of these elders sudden competitive spirit after knowing that a high ranking would be able to get them a few free rewards. Making only two distinct rankings for the elders, one for sect contribution, judged by completion of sect mission, lectures and other things that contributed to the sect, while the other was for sect material contribution, judged by how many resources a sect elder donated to the sect.
The first was an obvious one that would benefit the sect and was understandable, but the second was… A bit more unique. Turning into a kind of wall of fame for these elders to show off.
After all, even though there were still free rewards from the second ranking, those rewards were pitiful in comparison to how many resources you would need to contribute to end up anywhere near the top of this ranking. The reason why being that the few stronger elders who had more than enough cultivation resources, decided to donate a few of the things they considered useless to the sect.
One of these being Pei Yang, who had a large number of pills, potions and other alchemical creation laying around that wasn't useful to him and couldn't really sell for enough contribution points to have him bother going around attempting to sell off.
And what might have been considered useless to someone like Pei Yang at the Early Stage of the Dao Seed Realm had instantly changed the originally quiet ranking where everyone had started off carefully calculating how many resources they could donate while still making a profit into a hall of fame for the most generous elders, something that had silently been pushed by Elder Song, who wanted nothing more than to have these elders willing help support the sect without expecting anything in return. After all, the sect could always use more resources.
For example, the pills and other things donated by Pei Yang ended up becoming perfect rewards for some of the sect's different disciple tournaments. Allowing the sect to save quite a bit of resources, while at the same time also enhancing Pei Yang's prestige inside the sect, something that had drawn the attention of other powerful elders to join in and assist in turning the second ranking into a proper hall of fame for the different elders to show off.
The two new rankings for the elders and the rebuilding of the sect after the spiritual water flood aside, the Shattered Star Peaks ended up transforming a lot following the flood of spiritual water that had essentially spread from the base of the Seventh Star Peak across the different valleys throughout the Shattered Star Peaks.
The somewhat elevated location of the terrain surrounding the Seventh Star Peak assisting the spiritual water in flowing into several locations far from the Seventh Star Peak itself, something that caused the different plants and trees throughout the Shattered Star Peaks to grow rapidly. Reaching the point where a relatively large area around the base of the Sixth Star Peak had turned int a lush jungle, causing some of the demon beasts normally confined to the countless caves that covered the Sixth Star Peak to emerge and happily move to the jungle and make it their new home.
The rich spiritual qi from the spiritual water not only having helped give birth to a lush jungle but also allowing these demon beasts that had adapted to survive in the presence of chaotic qi with only Qi Condensation Realm strength to evolve, a few of them directly managing to breakthrough their limits. Reaching the Foundation Establishment Realm.
Although this was not anywhere near threatening to the Star Shattering Sect, these demon beasts could still pose some threat to some of the sect's younger disciples.
For this reason, when Elder Song learnt about the situation, he didn't waste any time and directly informed Feng Chen, who in turn used his limited authority over the chaotic qi formation to create a barrier around the Sixth Star Peak to prevent any of the demon beasts from wandering around the Shattered Star Peaks and potentially endanger the younger disciples who loved wandering around the Shattered Star Peaks in small groups exploring the place and looking for treasures and spirit stones that senior disciples and elders tended to scatter around the Shattered Star Peaks for these younger disciples to find.
Of course, Feng Chen had no plan to eliminate these demon beasts on the Sixth Star Peak and the now lush jungle at the base of the Sixth Star Peak. Instead, he, along with Elder Song and another group of elders concluded that it would be best to turn the place into a training location for their youngest disciples still at the Qi Condensation Realm. After all, even if there were a few Foundation Establishment Realm demon beasts, there was at most a handful and they would provide good pressure for the younger disciples and make sure they didn't dare become complacent while exploring the lush jungle now filled with demon beasts.
As for ensuring the safety of these disciples bold enough to wander into the lush jungle, a few elders secretly keeping an eye on the situation would be more than enough to ensure that none of these younger disciples would end up dying.
Of course, the presence of these elders wouldn't be mentioned to the younger disciples. After all, it wouldn't be much of a training ground if these disciples knew that there was someone watching over them the entire time, it was much better to let these younger disciples face off demon beasts on their own for the first time and learn from it in an environment under the sect's control.
But then again, the disciple still at the Qi Condensation Realm at this point were mostly children 14 years old or younger. Meaning that they didn't have much courage when it came to actually killing a demon beast. Instead, being far more likely to either spare the demon beast in question unable to bring themselves to kill it or just run away. An expected reaction for a child encountering a demon beast for the first time…
