Chapter 2120: World Limitations
Chapter 2120: World Limitations
Aside from feeling a bit interested in the group of demon beasts that had shown up to exact their revenge, Xuan Hao ultimately didn’t intend on staying behind to conduct an interrogation on this group of demon beasts like he had done with the group of cultivators. One, because it would be far more difficult to interrogate demon beasts and second, because he had a feeling that these demon beasts would rather fight him to the death that be willingly subjected to interrogation by him. The only reason they hadn’t attacked him while he was still around being because they at least managed to understand that fighting him wouldn’t be a good idea.
Showing that even if these demon beasts hadn’t attempted to communicate with him before their attack on the seven cultivators at the Land Creation Realm, it was clear that they were fully aware of his presence and wanted to take advantage of the situation to take revenge after he had left. Not because they didn’t have any ability to communicate, but more so because there was no reason for them to communicate in the first place.
Then again, there was also a very real chance that this group of demon beasts believed that they had managed to avoid detection from his divine sense and thought he hadn’t even sensed their attack in the first place and was already long gone when they attacked. After all, he had not bothered to hide his own usage of the Dao of Space when leaving. Giving the illusion that he wouldn’t be able to sense the situation on the other side after he left through the Dao of Space, something that was understandable, as even with his current divine sense comparable to that of someone at the Star Creation Realm in terms of coverage, he only barely caught a glimpse of the battle behind him starting.
In fact, as he thought about this while travelling through the void of the small world towards the eastern corner of the world where the supposed cultivator alliance mentioned by the now doomed cultivators he had just finished learning about the small world from, he felt that this kind of situation was far more likely compared to the other.
As for the fate of the cultivators and civilians who had already escaped the city ahead of time? From what he could see before he left, they had already begun escaping towards the east following the path that the caravan he had first encountered had been travelling. Showing very clearly that these locals knew it was time for them to jump ship and try to look for somewhere else to settle down in the future. Setting off on a journey that would undoubtedly last several years, if not decades, given the low average cultivation these civilians and cultivators.
The one good piece of news for these new refugees that had barely managed to flee the city and avoid getting implicated in the terrifying battle that now tore apart their city, was the fact that the demon beasts that had shown up were all terrifying entities that had at least reached the Profound Immortal Realm or the Celestial Immortal Realm. Showing no interest in the group of refugees in the distance as they focused all their attention on the battle taking place now above the ancient city.
The fate of these refugees and if they could reach the east where the cultivator alliance was located and find a new place to settle down was something that could only be left up to fate.
In the end, Xuan Hao didn’t have much interest in what happened to these locals of the small world that was the twenty eighth floor of the tower. Knowing that unless the floor was permanently changed through either some kind of major unexpected turn like the fall of the Heavens Faith Sect on the twenty seventh tower or through overwhelming power, like he had done on the lower floors himself or the second time the twenty seventh floor had been changed by an external power that should have originated from a higher floor where beings at the Venerable Realm existed.
Speaking of which, the destruction of the twenty seventh floor back then had essentially confirmed to him that a floor containing Venerable Realm cultivators existed somewhere above the floor he found himself on. Making him curious about just how far up the ascension realm tower went and at the same time also left him wondering if the ascension realm tower held beings beyond the Venerable Realm. Strength that far exceeded anything he had run into so far outside that of the ascension realm tower itself.
Whoosh~
Thoughts wandering as he traversed through the relatively calm void of the small world that was far more malleable and easier to traverse compared to the void outside the ascension realm tower where he had to be far more cautious when moving across vast distances to avoid accidentally ending up in some spatial anomaly or trapped by some kind of spatial formation, it didn’t take long before he found himself stepping back out of the void and into the small world. Finding himself hovering above a large field made up of some unknown crop that carried a faint hint of spiritual qi.
Not enough to be qualified as a mortal grade spiritual herb, but also beyond a normal plant without spiritual qi, landing somewhere in between.
Of course, the unique crops in the field below weren’t important. Instead, it was the fact that this field was attached to several other fields connected by several small roads that fed into a larger paved road that led into the distance towards what should be a city under the cultivator alliance he had learnt about not long ago.
The presence of these fields alone showing how much stronger this alliance of cultivators was compared to the city ruled by eighth clans he had officially doomed with his little visit, as though guarded by eight cultivators at the Early Stage of the Land Creation Realm, they were forced to exist only within the boundaries of the city itself and had to rely on producing their food within the city walls.
Although this was simple enough to accomplish with the establishment of several secret realms focused on agricultural production, the malleable space of the twenty eighth floor, while easier for someone like himself to manipulate, also meant that it was far harder to properly set up and anchor a secret realm.
Something that could originally be accomplished by someone in the Domain Lord Realm with enough resources and above average spatial manipulation abilities. Now required someone who had at least reached the Dao Seed Realm and had some understanding of the Dao of Space. Not to the level of reaching the Elementary Realm in the Dao of Space, but far beyond that of someone in the Domain Lord Realm who had only gained a basic spatial manipulation because of their cultivation without any real understanding of the Dao of Space.
Still, even with the increased difficulty in the creation of a secret realm, the most difficult part would undoubtedly be to properly anchor the secret realm to the small world, as a small world like the one he found himself in was ultimately nowhere near comparable to the one outside the ascension realm tower.
From what he could sense while he had travelled through the void, it was clear that there was some limit to how many secret realms the small world could support and when it exceeded said number, one wouldn’t be able to anchor newly created secret realms to the small world.
This kind of limit should also exist for his own world, but compared to this small world, that limit was so beyond anything he could comprehend that it wasn’t anything for him to worry about. After all, he also learnt from his travel through the void and observation of the spatial currents, that when the limit was about to be reached, the world would slowly push away anchored secret realms. Forcing the secret realms of this small world to also create a more physical kind of anchor in the shape of a formation or an artifact of some kind that directly attached to the small world and kept the secret realm from drifting away.
Because of this, ownerless secret realms were practically nonexistent within the small world, as a constant stream of resources were required to ensure that a secret realm remained attached to the small world, something that wasn’t at all needed back in his world, where the anchor would essentially remain in place and stay attached after the formation of the secret realm. The one asterisk being in case the secret realm itself suffered some kind of catastrophic damage, and the anchor was damaged or directly severed because of it.
All that aside, Xuan Hao didn’t linger around above the crop field for long and set off following the paved road below towards what he assumed to be a city under the cultivator alliance. Hoping it to be the main city of this alliance, as that was the place he had attempted to reach following the knowledge he had learnt from the group of seven.
