Chapter 2142: Divine Land

Stepping inside the city without any problems and a few hundred of the local coins he had just created while waiting in line, Xuan Hao took the opportunity to look around the city. Planning to use this first city on the fragmented continent to learn more about the fragmented continent and the different small and large powers that inhabited the place. Knowing from the little interaction he had with the locals while waiting in line that it wouldn’t be difficult for him to blend in.

After all, it was clear that while the races present on the fragmented continent was far more diverse than the Ewaria Continent that was dominated almost entirely by humans with only a few places for demon beasts to establish themselves and develop a proper stronghold that wasn’t made up of mindless wild demon beasts, humans were still one of the dominant races and could be considered a common sight.

Just looking around himself as he walked around the streets of the city, he noticed that somewhere between fifteen and twenty percent of the cultivators around were humans while the rest belonged to unknown races that he hadn’t encountered

While this was still a big change compared to what he had been used to on the Ewaria Continent, it wasn’t anything special as a single glance was all that was needed for him to understand that these new races weren’t that different from the human cultivators he was familiar with. The only real difference being their outward appearance, as any potential racial superiority they might have had in the early stages of cultivation had become meaningless once they reached the Nascent Soul Realm- or that was at least what he guessed after walking around observing these unique new races through a subtle probe of his divine sense.

Sensing that even the strongest of these races weren’t that different compared to humans. The only real advantage being that they seemed to have a slightly longer lifespan before the Nascent Soul Realm and had some special talent for the Dao of the Soul, a unique Dao that he himself had been quite curious about and hoped to learn more about if he got the opportunity to do so before he inevitably ended up being forcibly booted out of the twenty ninth floor of the tower after running into something he couldn’t handle.

At the very least, if he didn’t end up seeking death himself, there was a very small chance of anything happening to him in the short term and he should be able to take advantage of the environment of the twenty ninth floor to deepen his understanding of the Dao of Space. Part of him was already planning to find a nearby spatial anomaly to study and hopefully elevate his comprehension of the Dao of Space from the Perfection Realm to the Origin Realm.

Then again, before any of that, he wanted to see if he could learn about any powerful cultivator living on the fragmented continent proficient in the Dao of Space. Hoping he might be able to learn the insights of someone else who was similarly skilled in the Dao of Space. Knowing that his own insights into the Dao of Space would undoubtedly also be valuable to someone, who like him, had reached the Perfection Realm in the Dao of Space and just needed that final spark of enlightenment to successfully step past the final bottleneck and successfully enter the Origin Realm.

Keeping this in mind, Xuan Hao continued moving deeper into the city. Feeling a growing sense of admiration towards the formation master behind the construction of the city guardian formation that kept the void outside from encroaching upon the city itself and allowed it to exist as a self-contained world that allowed for those below the Nascent Soul Realm to move around freely without fear of dying from direct exposure to the void with their fragile bodies.

The degree of comprehension required to construct this kind of formation alone was already comparable to his own and the direction of comprehension for the creator of the city guardian formation itself was completely different from his own. Making it a perfect subject for him to study to not just deepen his understanding of the Dao of Space but also deepen his understanding of how to use the Dao of Formations and the Dao of Space together in a way that didn’t involve teleportation formations.

Speaking of which, there were no spatial formations that one might have expected to see in a place where the comprehension of the Dao of Space that the locals had reached was undoubtedly far beyond normal, though it wasn’t that odd, as the chaotic spatial environment of the fragmented continent made spatial movement itself a dangerous endeavor.

Setting up a stable spatial environment before creating a stable spatial channel or passage connecting to another city on the fragmented continent was nothing short of asking for death, as any changes to the already sensitive spatial environment beyond the stabilization around the different small cities could result in a chain reaction that ended up creating a spatial storm that would follow along the spatial channel or passage back to the exit point of the spatial channel or passage.

Even if a stable teleportation formation could be set up, if just a single spatial storm happened to cross paths with it, it could cause the entire channel or passage to collapse and the spatial storm itself would still follow the collapsing passage all the way back to the teleportation formations connecting the two sides with one another. Ending up in a disaster where the cities on the other sides would be torn apart from the inside by spatial storms.

Of course, there would always be a way to forcibly establish a teleportation formation with enough strength and resources, but the cost of doing something like that simply wouldn’t be worth it, thus the general means of movement on the fragmented continent remained normal flight or travel.

The only places where teleportation formations might be used would be the different isolated pieces of land on the fragmented continent that remained protected from the void outside. Allowing the spatial environment within to remain stable enough that spatial movement wouldn’t come with a risk of death.

As for those isolated pieces of land where the law fragment he needed to obtain should be, he managed to learn a bit more about them through chatting with a few adventurers returning to the city from a trip outside at the cost of a few coins. Making sure that they wouldn’t see him as some senior figure who didn’t even know what should be considered basic information for someone in his cultivation realm but instead making himself out to be an ignorant junior who didn’t know much about the world outside the city.

This little trick worked wonders and through the adventurers, he learnt that those isolated pieces of land were referred to as divine land in the eyes of the locals and only those from the divine lands would be able to enter the divine lands.

They, outsiders born outside the divine land, wouldn’t be able to enter unless their strength reached the Profound Immortal Realm or as the locals referred to it as the void monarch realm.

Not just that, but even upon reaching this void monarch realm, one would still have to pay a certain price to enter the divine lands, though these adventurers that were merely between the Middle to Late Stage of the Nascent Soul Realm had no clue about the price one would have to pay to enter the divine lands and had only heard about it through rumors in the past. After all, with their strength, the divine lands were still something distant and unreachable.

Maybe upon reaching the void monarch realm, one would be able to learn about the requirements, but before that, these adventurers said that it would be a complete mystery no matter how many other adventurers he asked. Even if they were stronger than them.

Outside of this, he also managed to learn a bit more about the general strength behind these divine lands, though, unfortunately for him, the realms that were mentioned to help him understand these divine lands left him somewhat speechless, as they were also realms he had no clue about nor had even heard about before.

The only realm he could somewhat understand was the void monarch realm, as from the information shared by the adventurers, it was clear to him that this was the Breaking Dawn Realm of the Profound Immortal Realm.

But for the realms that came after… He couldn’t truly place them somewhere within the traditional immortal cultivation path, as the information these adventurers had on the realms above the void monarch realm was scarce to say the least and mostly boiled down to descriptions of some large-scale battle devastating vast swaths of land and shattering space. Things that weren’t difficult to accomplish even for someone at the Dao Seed, let alone above that.
