Chapter 2220: Search for the Winged Lion Demon Beast

Chapter 2220: Search for the Winged Lion Demon Beast

Unaware of the interest the Myriad Treasure Hall was showing in finding out more about the mysteries background of his sect, a mysterious ancient background that was nonexistent, Xuan Hao left the Shattered Star Peaks and began his search for the missing winged lion demon beast that he had originally planned to go looking for before he had been interrupted by the sudden meeting with the Myriad Treasure Hall’s Elder Green Willow.

He didn’t particularly mind the interruption given how he could still sense the winged lion demon beast pet of his was alive and doubted it would keel over from being left alone for another week. Not to mention, the meeting itself was also beneficial to him learning more about the Southern Central Region along with ensuring a supply of phoenix feathers that would undoubtedly prove useful in him experimenting with the flame imprint that had formed between his brows.

Not just that, but he also had a feeling he would need more of those feathers before the flame imprint would be capable of taking in a large enough quantity of the icy divine power trapped in the stones at the Second Star Peak.

Sure, he could easily go to the Second Star Peak for another visit now that his strength had improved since his last visit, but he would rather wait for those phoenix feathers to show up so he could potentially get more out of a second visit- and he didn’t plan on entering another secluded cultivation before he found the missing winged lion demon beast.

The meeting was fine as it only ended up taking a little over a week of waiting, while another visit to Second Star Peak would almost certainly end up with him being trapped there for another unwanted seclusion that could last anywhere from a few weeks to months and potentially even years depending on the intensity of the benefits he obtained from absorbing the icy divine power.

Whoosh~

Thinking about this to himself as he reemerged back above the border region that had been established between the sect and the Frozen Wastelands where the demonic cultivators resided, he wasted no time using his divine sense to sweep through the area. Searching for any traces left behind by the winged lion demon beast that had once been the diligent little guardian against the demonic cultivators from the frozen wasteland in the past before it had vanished.

Not taking more than a few seconds to lock onto the specific ancient teleportation formation, the unfortunate little fellow had ended up stumbling through before being teleported away.

"Odd, this formation should still be working, but... Why is it incapable of reactivating?" Muttering this to himself as he began examining the ancient teleportation formation in depth, he soon realized that there wasn’t something wrong with the ancient teleportation formation itself. Even if it looked like something that might break with a light touch. "Ah, the problem is not on this side, but the other side." But as he utilized his deep comprehension of the Dao of Space to analyze the spatial channel connected to the teleportation formation, he soon realized the problem wasn’t with the teleportation formation before him, but instead the other end of the teleportation formation.

After all, different form someone like him who could freely travel through the void and teleport around the place relying on his profound comprehension on the Dao of Space, a teleportation formation needed an intact passage and two intact entry points connected to one another. If not, the teleportation formation wouldn’t work- or worse, it might send one somewhere completely random.

For this reason, most teleportation formations tended to close on their own when the other connection point had collapsed. Rendering them inactive and no different from a broken teleportation formation to someone unfamiliar with teleportation formations. Especially so when the teleportation formation in question was an ancient one that already looked like it had broken apart ages ago.

Lucky for him, this wasn’t much of an issue, as he easily bypassed this safety mechanism and relied on the spatial coordinates already present within the teleportation formation to reactivate it before jumping into the swirling spatial torrents. Not the slightest bit worried about the fact that the spatial channel he was being guided through had no exit.

After all, with his current comprehension of the Dao of Space, it was a simple matter to create an exit for himself when he got close to the endpoint of the spatial channel where the original exit should have been located before it had been destroyed.

As for how this exit had been destroyed so shortly after the winged lion demon beast had found itself unlucky enough to fall through it? That wasn’t difficult to guess, as the most likely reason was it ending up in a battle that had unknowingly ended up destroying the ancient teleportation formation in the process.

At the end of the day, these kinds of ancient teleportation formations were incredibly fragile.

Fragile to the point where even someone in the Foundation Establishment fighting next to them might accidentally break them.

The reason behind their long survival mainly had to do with them being hidden away in isolated locations or places that were protected by the natural environment.

Keeping in mind the unknown state of the environment on the other side of the spatial channel, Xuan Hao made sure to slow down his approach as he got closer to the end point of the spatial channel.

Although there was little that could pose a threat to him with his current strength having recently broken through to the Star Creation Realm alongside his comprehension of the Dao of Space reaching the Origin Realm, he didn’t want to run into some random deathtrap by accident because he random jumped back out of the void in an unknown place.

After all, no matter how accurate he was when it came to following the spatial channel towards the original end point, he couldn’t exit at the original location of the spatial channel, as that spot had been destroyed and was difficult to traverse. Leading to him having to leave the void a distance away from the original spot.

And while this distance was short within the void, no more than what looked like something that could be covered in a few steps, the actual distance was essentially close to a handful of smaller kingdoms put together. Meaning there was a good chance of ending up somewhere dangerous by accident if one didn’t properly inspect the surrounding environment before breaking free of the spatial channel to leave before being forced into the chaotic spatial turbulence left behind by the destroyed spatial formation.

Luckily for him, though it might be difficult to analyze the outside situation in the short fraction of a second, he had to leave the spatial channel before he crashed into the chaotic spatial turbulence, his current cultivation and comprehension allowed him to grasp the outside situation even faster.

Examining the outside situation with his divine sense. Seeing that he had ended up somewhere still within the border regions of the continent, like where the Star Shattering Sect was located, where the general strongest cultivators were at the Nascent Soul Realm with a rare few reaching the Domain Lord Realm.

Of course, the current space around the Star Shattering Sect was nowhere near what it had been in the past, as Domain Lord Realm cultivators and above were now commonplace within the border regions that now fell under the control of the Star Shattering Sect.

Still, knowing he was in such a weak region, he didn’t hesitate and directly pulled himself out of the spatial channel-

Rumble~

Tearing a sizeable rift across the sky, as he essentially tore apart the spatial channel he had been travelling through in the process. Exposing part of the spatial channel itself to the outside world for a brief instance.

"Wha-what is that!?"

"Look! In the sky!"

"Ah!? Is the sky collapsing!?"

"Noo-! Ruuun the sky is falling!"

Startling the people who had been going about their own business down below only to see the sky suddenly being torn apart. Understandably panicking because of the unexpected turn of events, as one of them even ended up tripping over his own feet in the chaos. Falling flat on his face before crawling way on all fours to get out of the way.

"..."

Partly having expected this kind of situation given where he was on the continent, Xuan Hao could only silently apologize for the panic he had caused before slowly turning away to leave in the direction of where the destroyed part of the teleportation formation was located. Knowing he had to find it first before he could pick up on where the winged lion demon beast had ended up going after it had been forcibly shuttled through the teleportation formation.

At the same time also potentially finding out the reason behind the destruction of the other side of the teleportation formation.
