Chapter 2062: Hell Molten Eel(2)

Chapter 2062: Hell Molten Eel(2)

"This Hell Molten Serpent must be really valuable for so many people to show up for it," Yuan remarked after being attacked for the fifth time in just two weeks.

"It’s not just the Hell Molten Serpent," Feng Yuxiang replied. "That’s simply how things are in the higher Heavens. It’s common for cultivators to clash over every resource they can get their hands on."

"Why? It’s not like there’s a shortage of resources."

"I suppose that’s just the nature of the higher heavens—competition is simply a way of life."

Yuan’s gaze suddenly shifted to a certain direction, and he said, "Looks like we have more newcomers."

"Time to take out more trash," Feng Yuxiang said as she excitedly prepared for battle.

"Why don’t you just put up a sign or something if you don’t want them attacking us?" Yuan asked.

Feng Yuxiang chuckled and said, "That would ruin all the fun. Do you have any idea how bored I was when I lost my powers? Now that they’re back, I intend to enjoy them to the fullest!"

Yuan merely shook his head at her response, having no intention of stopping her, even if it would spare some lives. After all, those who attacked them had only themselves to blame.

Soon enough, the newcomers launched their attack, and as before, a few broke away from the main battle to target the lone flying treasure that had been quietly minding its own business in the distance.

Before long, Feng Yuxiang’s beautiful flames swept across the sky like a crimson tsunami, and the Immortals who dared attack them were reduced to ashes in an instant.

"A phoenix?!" the newcomers exclaimed in shock, their reaction mirroring the disbelief of the cultivators who had come before them.

However, instead of fleeing like the others, one of them shouted, "C-Contact the Elders! Tell them there’s a True Immortal Phoenix here and that we need their assistance!"

At his command, one of the cultivators broke from the group and vanished into the distance.

A few minutes later, a massive flying ship appeared on the horizon, its arrival heralded by the unmistakable aura of three approaching True Immortals.

Once the ship arrived, three figures leapt from its deck and swiftly closed in on Yuan’s flying treasure, surrounding it in a tight triangular formation.

"Need my help?" Yuan asked Feng Yuxiang, who responded with a smile on her face, "No need, Young Master. I can handle them alone."

She left the flying treasure to face the three True Immortals shortly later.

Once they were face to face, one of the True Immortals questioned, "You’re a phoenix—why would you need the Hell Molten Serpent?"

"Who said I need it?" Feng Yuxiang replied calmly.

"Then why are you here, fighting over it with us?!"

"Your people attacked us first, so it’s self-defense."

"Are you telling me you’re just here to watch the spectacle?!" another True Immortal snapped, his voice trembling with anger.

"Something like that, I guess."

The three True Immortals exchanged glances with one another. After a brief moment of silence, they all gave a slight nod, as if having come to an unspoken agreement.

Then, without warning, they began attacking Feng Yuxiang.

Though they would’ve preferred not to clash with a Divine Beast—a Phoenix, no less—they couldn’t let the Hell Molten Eel be taken away.

However, knowing there was a chance that Feng Yuxiang belonged to one of the Royal Phoenix Clans, they didn’t dare risk killing her outright. Instead, they attacked with the sole intention of subduing and suppressing her.

"Are you bastards looking down on me?" Feng Yuxiang snarled, realizing exactly what they were doing as flames surged violently around her.

The battle’s intensity escalated, and despite being outnumbered, Feng Yuxiang still managed to drive the three True Immortals back.

However, a few hours later, as the battle neared its conclusion and the True Immortals began to falter, a sudden tremor shook the land, and the surrounding volcanoes erupted in a roaring cascade of fire and molten rock.

Everyone on the battlefield froze mid-motion, their eyes instinctively drawn to the Flowing Molten Serpent below.

The river of lava suddenly began to churn and bubble ominously, as if something was emerging.

Seeing this, the Golden Immortal who had once tried to drive Yuan away shouted, "The Hell Molten Serpent is surfacing! Prepare to activate the formation! We’ll hold them off!"

Although their numbers had dwindled drastically over the past two weeks of constant fighting, they decided to remain there because of Feng Yuxiang’s presence.

Moments later, the surface of the lava river began to swell and rise, until a massive black eel emerged, its body etched with glowing cracks that pulsed like molten veins.

The cultivators activated the formation, instantly binding the Hell Molten Serpent with powerful chains that prevented it from escaping. However, that was all they could manage for now, as they were still under relentless attack from rival factions.

Unfortunately, they were hopelessly outnumbered, and the opposing forces kept whittling away at their ranks with relentless assaults.

With no other choice, they turned to Yuan for help.

"Please! Young Master! Help us!"

But Yuan had no reason to intervene. They were there to hunt for treasures, and he was merely a passerby.

While Feng Yuxiang had indirectly aided them by eliminating those who attacked their flying treasure, it didn’t make them allies in any sense of the word.

While it might seem right to save them, doing so would be unfair to everyone else who had come to compete for the treasure. After all, they hadn’t been attacked by bandits. They were simply participants in the same ruthless struggle for the Hell Molten Eel.

"If you want to survive, just give up on the treasure and leave," Yuan told them calmly.

"Impossible!" one of them shouted back. "We’ve already lost so many trying to claim it! If we abandon it now, all those deaths would be meaningless!"

Yuan shook his head and sighed. "Use your brain a little. Since it’s clear you don’t have what it takes to claim it, you’ll also die a meaningless death if you continue to struggle for it. You might as well save the lives you still can."
