Chapter 2140: White Hell(2)
Chapter 2140: White Hell(2)
"What a fool. What can he do without the Sun Stone? Even if he has Cold Resistance, he won't be able to withstand the cold enough to train properly." The disciples of the Sun God's Temple shook their heads at the handsome man who refused to heed their warning.
"Forget it. There will always be arrogant people like that."
"I doubt we'll ever see him again."
Unbeknownst to the disciples, the handsome man-Yuan-had no need for their Sun Stone. With the power of the Primordial Phoenix flowing within him, the cold of White Hell posed no threat. No matter how frigid its depths, his True Primordial Fire could easily protect him.
As Yuan crossed into the first region, he officially stepped into White Hell. The outer region stretched out as endless white plains buried beneath layers of snow. The drifts were so deep that walking on the ground was impossible, and only by flying through the skies could one traverse the land.
<Your Cold Resistance has improved slightly>
Despite possessing Supreme Cold Immunity-enough to remain unaffected even by the Extreme Yin Lake near the Frozen Cloud Ethereal Sect-the cold of White Hell was so intense that it had already begun tempering his resistance further.
"This place sure is great. I'd just stepped into it, and my cold resistance is already improving with every passing second." Yuan mumbled with a satisfied smile on his face.
"White Hell... it's been a long time since I last heard that name," Yu Ning remarked. "I had nearly forgotten this place even existed until you mentioned it."
"What was it like during the Primordial Era?" Yuan asked.
"I doubt much has changed," Yu Ning replied. "White Hell has been infamous for as long as I can remember. Back then, during the Primordial Era, the deepest anyone managed to reach was the third region."
"I've never been here before, so I don't know how impressive that is, but according to what those disciples from the Sun God's Temple said, their Sun Stones could help one survive even the fourth region."
Yuan had been listening to the disciples marketing the Sun Stones and only pretended to be ignorant.
"Sun God's Lake, huh? I would like to visit it in the future when I have the chance."
After reaching the midway point of the first region, Yuan noticed a group of cultivators slightly ahead of him. Though the snowstorm blanketed the world in white, his divine sense cut through it with ease.
Since he wasn't hiding his presence, the group ahead also noticed him.
"Am I seeing things, or is that man really traveling through White Hell without Sun Stone?" one of the women asked aloud, clutching the glowing stone in her hand.
"Even if he has Cold Immunity, what a reckless thing to do."
"He's probably just lingering in the first region."
In truth, every woman in the group possessed some degree of Cold Immunity. Had they not intended to enter the deeper regions, they wouldn't have needed to rely on Sun Stones at all.
However, as they drew closer to the second region, the group was astonished to see Yuan still right behind them, almost as if he intended to enter the second region as well.
Yet, they still believed that Yuan would not venture into the second region.
A week later, they arrived at the threshold of the second region, where the snowstorm transformed into a barrage of hail. Razor-sharp ice shards constantly rained down, and without the protection of spiritual energy, they could pierce flesh as easily as ordinary Sword Aura, riddling one's body with holes.
Naturally, the cold within the second region was far more severe, being at least two to three times harsher than that of the outer region. Mountains also began to emerge, though only one appeared every few days along their path.
"Heavens! Look over there! That man actually stepped into the second region without a Sun Stone, and he isn't even protecting his body with spiritual energy!"
The group stared in shock, their curiosity toward him rapidly intensifying.
"Is he just trying to show off to impress us or something?" one of the women muttered.
"That's likely."
"How typical."
"Let's see how long he'll last."
While the others chuckled at their own misunderstanding, the one leading them in the front remained silent, quietly observing Yuan through her divine sense to ensure he wasn't up to anything suspicious.
As they ventured deeper into the second region, magical beasts began to appear, many concealed beneath the snow, striking from ambush. With danger lurking at every step, the women soon stopped paying attention to Yuan, turning their focus entirely to their own safety.
Of course, a few of them couldn't resist sneaking glances at Yuan, who trailed behind in silence, almost like a stalker. That said, there were still thousands of miles separating them.
Eventually, one of them realized that no magical beasts had attacked Yuan for several days, even though their own group was assaulted constantly.
This left them greatly puzzled. Yuan made no attempt to conceal his presence, nor employed any special means, yet for reasons beyond their understanding, the magical beasts left him untouched.
"Why aren't the magical beasts attacking him?" one of them finally asked.
"What if... he's not trying to impress us, but instead using us as bait?" another suggested cautiously.
"Elder, should we question him? He's only a Golden Immortal, so I doubt he can do anything to us, but I have a bad feeling about him."
The woman leading them said calmly, "We've been moving in a straight line since entering White Hell-it might just be a coincidence. If you're that concerned, we can stop and let him pass us."
The others agreed with her suggestion and chose to rest. They carved out a massive crater in the snow before settling down inside it.
A few minutes later, Yuan had caught up to them. They silently hoped he would keep flying past, but their expressions darkened when he suddenly stopped directly above them.
"I knew it! He's up to no good!" one of the ladies hastily exclaimed. (More chapters in Buyers club for TMT)
