Chapter 2274 Giant Emperor Kulas' Family
Chapter 2274 Giant Emperor Kulas' Family
Hearing Kulas' words, Tian Yang finally voiced the question that had lingered in his mind ever since learning about the Giant Race.
"I've wondered about this for a long time, but why don't any of you venture beyond the continent? At first, I assumed it was simply a preference, that giants chose to remain here. But from what you're saying… it sounds like you don't have a choice. Is something binding your people to this land?"
Kulas shook his head.
"No, nothing is binding us," he explained. "It's just that the outside world isn't ready to face our race. When we first established ourselves, a few giants did leave the continent. Every one of them faced scrutiny and harassment—constant provocation, suspicion, and hostility. Not a single one returned without injuries. That's why we decided to remain on this continent. Those who come here are already aware of our existence, and even if they try to harass us, we're surrounded by our fellow people."
"Of course, we won't remain secluded on this continent forever. Once our Giant's Race is known far and wide, we'll leave. Give it a few thousand years."
Even though the Giant Race had existed for hundreds of years, the Divine Heavens were so vast that most of the world remained unaware of them, particularly those living in rural regions. Not to mention, the Giant's Continent had sealed itself off for some time. "With that said, we're not in a hurry to leave this place. We're quite satisfied with our current lives, after all," said Kulas.
"Anyway, what are your plans now that you've defeated the Immortal Clans?" he then asked the couple.
Tian Yang and Ren Xia exchanged glances with each other.
"We've been living a quiet and peaceful life ever since then, and we don't have any plans on changing that lifestyle anytime soon," Tian Yang said.
"So you're not particularly doing anything? In that case, what do you think about staying here with me? I've been looking for a new sparring partner, but it's not easy to find a decent one since there is nobody on this continent who can even give me a challenge these days."
"You want us to live in the Giant's Continent…?" Tian Yang muttered.
"Of course, you can live here in the palace with me. We have plenty of spare rooms. We'll also take care of all of your amenities."
"Are you sure? I don't want to intrude on your family…"
"It's the least I can do for my sworn brother who saved my life." Tian Yang looked at Ren Xia and asked, "What do you think? Want to stay here for a little?"
Ren Xia shrugged, "I don't care where we stay as long as I am with you."
Tian Yang smiled, "Then it's decided."
He turned to face Kulas and said, "Please take care of us, my new sparring partner."
"Hahaha! I should be saying that!" Kulas laughed out loud.
They continued chatting for another day.
"Alright, how about we meet the rest of my family now? They should have gathered by now," Kulas suddenly suggested.
"Sounds good."
Tian Yang and Ren Xia followed Kulas back to the throne room where they first met.
When they arrived and entered the room, they were immediately met by over a hundred gazes.
Inside, a hundred and thirty-three giants lined up in an orderly fashion. Tian Yang's eyes widened with surprise when he saw the scene.
"All of them are your children?" he asked.
"Not all. Some of them are my wives," he responded with a prideful smile.
"Looks like you've been doing more than just play emperor for the last few hundred years…" Ren Xia remarked.
Rather than being offended, Kulas chuckled at her words.
He approached his family and loudly declared, "These two will be staying with us for some time. The one to my left is my sworn brother and best friend, Tian Yang. The one to my right is his wife. Now, I want you all to introduce yourselves, starting from the oldest."
At his command, the man standing on the far left took a step forward and loudly introduced himself, "I am the oldest. My name is Du Shaoweng."
Then, the woman standing right next to him stepped forward and spoke, "I am his mother and the first wife, Du Xianyun."
One by one, his family introduced themselves without any pauses, almost as if they'd practiced for this moment.
Finally, the youngest stepped forward.
"I am the youngest, Xie Mey. Unfortunately, my mother died right after my birth."
Kulas then said to Tian Yang, "As you can probably tell from their introduction, the children take after their mother's surname. The reason is simply that I have abandoned my surname—the same way my family abandoned me."
Tian Yang then stepped forward and said, "Kulas already introduced me, but I'm Tian Yang, and I will be staying here for some time to be his sparring partner. If you have any questions or just want to talk, don't hesitate to approach me. Let's all get along."
Although no one spoke, Tian Yang could feel their intense gazes fixed on him. Some held simple curiosity, but most carried motives that were far less innocent. However, that didn't necessarily mean their intentions were malicious.
"Are you not going to introduce yourself, too?" Kulas asked Ren Xia.
"Why? You already introduced me, and I don't really have anything else to add."
"If you say so."
He turned to his family and said, "You're all dismissed."
They bowed immediately before leaving the room. A few of them looked as though they wanted to speak with Tian Yang, but in the end, they held their tongues and left without saying anything.
At the very end, Xie Mey stopped before Tian Yang briefly and said, "Let's have a chat later. I'm quite interested in the outside world."
"Sure thing." Tian Yang nodded.
"I'll contact you later, then." Xie Mey gave a slight bow before leaving the room.
