Chapter 1099: Dark Regal Galaxy
Chapter 1099: Dark Regal Galaxy
The chamber trembled as the Warlock Prince’s heavy footsteps echoed through the hollow expanse. He led Jacob, still cloaked in the Deathless Prince’s visage, through a towering corridor of black crystal, and along the walls flowed rivers of faint starlight, like veins channeling the lifeblood of the abyss itself.
At this moment, the passage ended, and before them lay an expanse beyond reason—a colossal chasm suspended in a space of unending shadow.
At its center floated an immense structure—it was the Cosmic Gate!
It was shaped like an ancient monolith, older than even the Dark Kingdom itself, its edges carved with incomprehensible geometries that seemed to fold space and reflect time. Rings upon rings of obsidian metal revolved slowly, intersected by cracks that glowed with shifting nebulae of purple and crimson.
Within its center pulsed a tear in reality—an ever-swirling vortex of starlit darkness. The hum it emitted wasn’t sound but a vibration of the soul, as if the Gate itself were breathing.
Proof as the Cosmic Gates didn’t just bridge plains, it devoured the distance between them!
Jacob’s eyes briefly reflected its impossible beauty, yet his expression remained untouched, calm, detached, and calculating as he knew every cosmic gate was unique. The more powerful an elemental galaxy or planet, the more profound its cosmic gateway.
At this moment, tonelessly, the Warlock Prince sneered and retrieved something from the folds of his dark robes. It was a disk, a metallic sphere etched with rotating runes that pulsed with abyssal rhythm.
With a flick of his wrist, the disk floated from his palm and disassembled into spiraling fragments, which then fused with the Gate.
The entire chamber roared as the Cosmic Gateway seemed to be awakening.
Lightning made of pure dark law rippled across its rings; arcs of warped gravity folded light inward. The Gate’s heart expanded, revealing a corridor of flickering galaxies and ruptured starlight—a path between plains!
Without a word, Jacob stepped forward.
However, just as he was about to enter, the Warlock Prince’s voice rang behind him, sharp and jeering, dripping with contempt, "I’ll see you soon, Deathless...
That is—if you’re still alive!"
Jacob paused for the briefest instant—his expression unreadable—then stepped into the Gate without even granting a backward glance.
Seeing this, the Warlock Prince’s grin faltered, and for a moment, his eyes narrowed, a shadow of unease flickering within them.
’Something’s off about him,’ He thought grimly.
Then his features darkened, and he muttered to himself, "No matter what, since you dare to return despite the Dark Grand Duke’s warning for that thing, this time the Dark Grand Duke won’t spare you. Heh... filthy necromancer."
His hatred-filled words were drowned beneath the roar of the spatial storm as the Cosmic Gate closed, collapsing back into silence.
---
At this moment, Jacob emerged on the other side of Cosmic Gateway.
The first thing he noticed was that the surrounding space was dense with the Law of Dark. Furthermore, rivers of shadow flowed like liquid stars across the space, illuminating constellations that pulsed with eerie black light.
Ancient construct floated between worlds like drifting tombs, each radiating an antique presence, and there wasn’t any trace of light as it hesitated to linger.
Jacob’s gaze swept over the endless abyss—then fixed on a colossal celestial body dominating the galaxy’s heart, and it was impossible to miss because of its size.
It was a planet of impossible scale, its atmosphere wreathed in black lightning and drifting murky, black fog. Chains of dark energy encircled it like cosmic serpents. The entire world pulsed faintly, as though breathing in tandem with the galaxy itself.
This was Nocturnis Prime, where the main headhunters of the Dark Kingdom lie.
Furthermore, here resided the true authority of the dark faction—the Dark Grand Duke, the being whose single decree could erase any Dark Noble from existence.
Moreover, none but Dark Princes or the Dark Dukes could enter Nocturnis Prime. Even Dark Counts and Lords were forbidden to step within its orbit.
Lastly, Jacob’s goal... was this world!
Without hesitation, he moved. His form blurred into a streak of shadow as he cut through the space, heading straight toward the enormous planet.
But just as he neared its atmosphere, a deep, thrumming pulse resonated through the darkness.
In the next instant, an enormous barrier of runic light unfolded before him—a shield filled with the law of Dark, vast enough to cover continents.
Before Jacob could even react, a dozen streaks of silver-black light shot out from the barrier—fast, precise, merciless. They surrounded him in a deadly formation, locking every escape route.
Then the streaks dispersed, revealing their forms.
A ghostly light flickered in Jacob’s abyssal sockets as he wasn’t expecting this welcome and couldn’t help but think about the Warlock Prince’s words.
Surrounding him, each figure was massive—humanoid, faceless, yet emanating an aura so immense that space itself bent around them. Their bodies were smooth like sculpted obsidian, their limbs reinforced by energy conduits that crackled with deathly lightning.
From each emanated the unmistakable pressure of a Legendary King!
However, Jacob wasn’t apprehensive, but astounded when he saw those Legendary Kings, because he could tell they were puppets. Something came to mind when Black Mechanic’s voice echoed in his head, confirming his guess.
"Sir! Those constructs—they’re not ordinary puppets! A Spirit Mechanic makes them!"
At that moment, a peculiar light flickered in his hollow sockets with a hint of cruel amusement, "Does this mean the Machina Unit of Dark Rose is really in the Dark Regal Galaxy? Or right in the Nocturnis Prime?"
Black Mechanic replied without missing a heartbeat, "Yes, the chances are 99% that the Machina Unit is here! Those puppets are too precious and require precise control to activate all of them simultaneously. Unless the Machina Unit is a Blue Rank Spirit Mechanic, it’s impossible to control them from outside an elemental galaxy!"
’Well, I guess everything I was in this place, making this task easier...’ Jacob thought as he looked at those puppets surrounding him dismissively.
However, he still didn’t know why they were surrounding the Deathless Prince since this was too sudden, and he wanted to see what was going on.
At that moment, a static voice rang from one of the puppets, "Deathless Prince, you have been summoned by the Dark Grand Duke to stand on the Trial of Absolute Dark!"
