Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1112: Code Devour! (4)

Chapter 1112: Code Devour! (4)

"Black Mechanic, start devouring it...!"

The moment Jacob’s cold, unyielding command echoed through the Mechanized Sovereign Tower, the air itself seemed to split with a sharp crack of reality unraveling.

Without a hint of hesitation, the Black Octahedron ignited in full resonance, its eight faces shimmering with lines of living code.

Endless arrays of black runes spiraled outward like a storm of intelligent serpents, each one carrying fragments of mechanical law.

"Code Devour—Terminal Sequence Initiated!"

The command pulsed through the Infinite Space like a divine decree, and immediately, those data serpents lunged toward the Triangular Eye.

Yet, to Jacob’s silent surprise, the ethereal eye did not resist as it hung there in the space, calm, motionless, yet watching.

Its countless geometric rings rotated in eerie silence. Instead of repelling the attack, its luminous surface began to dissolve, which was a completely unexpected development.

At that moment, Black Mechanic’s digital tendrils coiled tighter, shredding the defensive layers of mystical logic like paper. Every strand of the Eye’s structure broke down into luminous steam like runes liquefying into vapor, and was rapidly absorbed into the Black Octahedron.

"Decryption rate: 98.1%...98.99%...99.01%...conversion stable!"

’What is this? This process is progressing too...smoothly all of a sudden!’ Jacob’s flaming sockets compressed into narrow beams, watching coldly as the divine code unraveled without a trace of counterattack.

Even the previous divine resistance to the supreme protocols and the logic storms was gone. It was as if the fragment wanted to be devoured by Black Mechanic now, which made Jacob slightly irked.

At that moment, his skeletal fingers curled slightly behind his back, and the golden flames in his eyes flickered into razor-sharp lines.

Black Mechanic, however, was too deep in the sequence to pause as its tone was steady, methodical, unaware of the creeping unease.

As the last traces of the Triangular Eye flickered like a distorted projection, a faint, static-laced voice rippled through the space.

"I... shall see you again, O’ sacrilegious heriti...c...so..."

It was so weak it was nearly incomprehensible...yet Jacob understood it enough before the voice fragmented into echoes of broken syllables before vanishing completely like a dying signal fading beyond the cosmos.

Thereafter, everything fell into silence, and the final three glyphs of the Triangular Eye turned into black vapor and sank into the Octahedron’s depths.

The Red Pentahedron, once pulsing with crimson rebellion, was now completely covered in black runes. The conversion was absolute.

However, even before the echoes of silence settled, something seemed to move!

First, it was like a flicker of an anomaly, and then abruptly it bloomed within the Red Spirit Mechanic’s core!

The next moment, the mechanical lattice shuddered, and from the intersection of runic circuits emerged a formless parasitical entity.

This entity wasn’t physical, nor purely spiritual; it was ethereal, yet it carried weight, like a thought given form by the will of the cosmos.

Its surface shimmered in paradoxical hues of black and violet, neither mechanical nor alive, and its aura was eerily quiet... yet profoundly heavy.

When Jacob saw that parasitical entity, his eyes flared violently because he couldn’t see through it. Yet, he could feel it as the pulse of an unwritten law, a fragment of something beyond the Spirit Mechanic’s structure.

’So, this is it...’ He thought grimly, ’The true secret that fragment wanted to hide?’

The moment the parasite took full shape, its empty surface quivered and then snapped toward the Black Octahedron like a shooting star.

But Jacob was faster because he was already on guard after that triangular eye submitted so easily. The smoothness of the devour and the silence of the resistance—it was all a baited design!

He had already expected something like this to happen, especially that mysterious Universal Anathema mentioned by that fragment.

So, the moment that entity appeared and moved, the Infinite Space responded to Jacob’s will and instantly reality froze!

The parasite halted mid-flight, seemingly suspended between dimensions as its shape distorted under the gravitational pressure of Jacob’s command.

The Infinite Space shuddered as black sigils of spatial law rippled out from Jacob’s skeletal frame like ripples on dark glass.

With a thought...the parasite vanished from midair, and when it reappeared, it was hovering above Jacob’s palm, restrained by invisible currents of Jacob’s power.

The ethereal parasite struggled faintly, its form shifting between countless shapes—geometric, organic, and pure energy —but none could break through the invisible prison of the Infinite Space.

Jacob’s flames dimmed into cold gold, studying it intently. Even without touching it, he could sense the depth within, as that strange thing wasn’t just a residual code.

It contained something precious or probably forbidden as the laws that governed Spirit Mechanics writhed around it, as if recognizing a superior.

At that moment, Black Mechanic’s static voice trembled faintly, "S–Sir, this is... beyond my comprehension. That entity... It’s not part of any Spirit Mechanic structure. It feels like...a Virus!"

Jacob’s skeletal fingers twitched ever so slightly, and his gaze turned sharp as blades.

"A Virus, you say?" He murmured, his tone a whisper between curiosity and dread, "Then it seems that ’Supreme Mother’ is hiding something truly nasty..."

The parasite’s form twisted once more, and for the briefest instant, Jacob felt it look back at him.

"Let’s see," Jacob intoned, voice low and thunderous, "What kind of law the so-called Supreme Mother tried to hide from others..."

However, the moment the ethereal parasite was caught within Jacob’s skeletal palm, the Infinite Space trembled.

It wasn’t a sound, but a resonance so profound that it didn’t echo through air or matter, but through laws themselves!

Suddenly, all around Jacob, the dimensional lattice of the Infinite Space warped like a mirror under unseen pressure, and the sky beyond the tower seemed to flicker in reversed time, with light flowing backward and shadows flowing forward.

Then, from the parasite itself, a deep, cosmic hum burst forth...followed by whispers.

"ᚣʊnɨvərʂɑl... Anɑthēmɑ... Sequence... Activated..."

The voice wasn’t one but thousands, merging and diverging, carrying mechanical divinity and sacred fury.

Runes, vast and alive, emerged in rings of pale nebulae around Jacob, and they weren’t made of energy, but of intent, profound and ancient, older than the concept of thought itself!
