Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1129: Evasive Reality (4)

Chapter 1129: Evasive Reality (4)

The moment reality began to move again, Jacob’s focus shifted back, as he wanted to know everything related to this event, especially the parties involved, because they were his enemies.

Moreover, Immortika had just told him that he would get all the answers he wanted once he watched everything, causing him to focus entirely on it.

The first thing Jacob noticed was a subtle change in the blade that was stabbed into his skull before a soft, reverent voice emerged...

["So, he’s the Cursed One?"]

Jacob’s eyes flickered violently because this voice didn’t sound like the two voices that he had heard.

’That voice is coming from that weapon, which could only mean that it’s the owner of that weapon!’ A sharp killing intent surged in Jacob’s heart when he assumed the voice’s owner to be the real perpetrator behind this entire attack.

However, Jacob’s thoughts instantly stopped when he heard the next part, and he almost thought he had heard it wrong. He was utterly disbelieving.

["I’ve told you, Heir of Chaos; your paths were entwined!"] That voice announced.

"Heir of Chaos?! It’s that woman!" Jacob’s eyes flared like a raging volcano when he finally realized the identity of the ’assassin’, and everything started to click into place.

How could Jacob have forgotten about the only heir of the UGS he had encountered other than himself?

Not to mention, he happened to have the latter’s Universal Godly Artificial in his possession, and Immortika had warned him about the compelling force between a UGS and its UGA, which can bring them together no matter how far they were or how long it would take.

’How did she get in contact with another heir of UGS so quickly, and the latter is clearly in Upper Plains? This could only mean it was still this guy who planned all of this, and it’s probably related to this ’Cursed One’ thing everyone keeps calling me.

’Furthermore, from her early reaction, it didn’t seem she knew who I was until she saw my appearance, or she might’ve already had her suspicions and confirmed it at that point.

’The chance of this being the latter is high because then she would have a perfect motive and resolve to become his pawn so she could get the Universal Godly Artifact back!’

Jacob felt as if all the fog had been clearing, and all this time, he was so fixated on the ’hunter’ that he had been ignoring another potential danger, Alexandra!

However, Jacob didn’t consider Alexandra a threat because he knew she wasn’t as powerful as he was, especially with the Gluttony Mask still under his control. She only became a threat when she received help from this mysterious heir of UGS, which was out of Jacob’s wildest expectations.

In all of this, Immortika made no comment, and neither did it break Jacob’s thought process, as if Immortika wanted him to figure this whole thing out himself, or the Cursed Book was enjoying Jacob’s various reactions.

At that moment, Alexandra finally spoke, ["Destin Saint, I guess you were always here!"]

’Destin Saint!’

Jacob instantly caught the name and engraved it in his very soul because this was probably the strongest enemy, on the same level as that entity that was hunting him, or stronger, because that guy was an Heir of a UGS with progress in his UGS far beyond his imagination.

["Hoho...does it matter anymore? For the Cursed One has finally been caught!"]

Jacob really started to hate Destin Saint when Alexandra dropped another bombshell, which sent a chill down Jacob’s spine.

["So, this ’Cursed One’ is also an Heir of a Universal Godly Scripture, huh? But why do I feel like he was...lacking? Are you sure he’s the one you were looking for?"]

["Lacking, you say? I can assure you, Miss...]

At that point, Jacob didn’t hear anything else as his eyes were compressed into tiny beams, and Immortika seemed to sense his lack of focus and stopped everything.

Suddenly, Jacob’s muttering, filled with dread and disbelief, sounded, "They knew! They knew I had a USG! They knew...!"

Jacob’s reaction was somewhat normal because he considered Cursed Immortality his biggest secret, and now, all of a sudden, when he heard someone else mentioning his secret, he felt exposed, like standing in the middle of a crowd stark naked.

Although Jacob had already thought about this possibility from the start when he found Alexandra and another heir of UGS’s involvement in his attack, it still hit him hard when he confirmed it.

However, Jacob wasn’t someone who would have a mental breakdown so easily because right now, what was important was figuring out his exact situation and then finding a way to break free.

Jacob knew that Immortika was showing him all of this for a reason, and this might not be resolved with a wish; otherwise, Immortika would’ve already told him instead of going through all this trouble.

Although the power of the Infinity Blood Sacrifice could render Jacob invincible, it also came at a price, depending on his situation. Currently, Jacob knew he most likely did not have enough capital to carry through this wish at all.

"I’m fine, continue!" Jacob coldly uttered.

He tried to hold back his insecurity and thought about how even Alexandra was exposed, not to mention that she probably knew this ’Destin Saint’ was also another Heir of a UGS, given how comfortably they were speaking about them.

’It isn’t a big deal as long as they don’t know the true power of Cursed Immortality...’ Jacob thought or desperately hoped for this being the truth.

"Hehehe, this is more interesting than I thought..." Immortika suddenly chortled before starting again without caring about Jacob’s death glare.

[...if not for my preparations and all the ’tools’ I’ve prepared for you...If I haven’t masked your existence with my arcane law...I guess from your early reaction, you might’ve had a similar experience with the Cursed One, right?"]

Jacob heard the entire dialogue between the two and preserved everything necessary, including the weapon and all other details, which were indeed arranged by Destin Saint. He also mentioned ’Arcane Law’, which meant he wasn’t hiding the fact that he had a UGS from Alexandra, making Jacob slightly uncomfortable.

However, when he heard the last point, Jacob was startled as a peculiar intent flare in his eyes, "She didn’t tell him about her encounter with me, and most likely not about the Gluttony Mask. Doesn’t this mean she didn’t trust this Destin Saint completely!?"
