Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1210: Primary Nightmare: The Clash

Chapter 1210: Primary Nightmare: The Clash

The moment the Fable Legendary State Zodiac Beast acted, in response, a blur of white cut through the void as Whiteness struck, its form slicing through space itself.

The massive Zodiac Beast responded instantly, its enormous limbs crashing down with overwhelming force, warping the void around them. It was like predator met predator, speed against power, and precision against overwhelming presence.

Whiteness moved like a phantom, striking and retreating, its attacks aimed not to dominate but to probe despite knowing that this Zodiac Beast was far stronger than him at this point, and he had to avoid it.

However, maybe after going through successful hunts so many times, Whiteness wanted to test himself against it, or he would simply retreat. But this time, he had miscalculated the terror of another special Zodiac Beast that had awakened intelligence, or simply because of Whiteness’s arrogance.

The next moment, the void surged as the antagonist adapted, and then, it caught Whiteness’s movement. Without wasting any moment, its massive limb closed in, locking down space itself.

Almost instantly, Whiteness’s movement faltered for the first time, and Jacob’s eyes narrowed as he knew the antagonist had gotten Whiteness with that move.

‘Boom!’

The next instant, a massive impact occurred, as if the void itself shattered, striking Whiteness’s body directly; its form distorted as cracks spread across its chitin-like structure.

Even though Whiteness didn’t die, he was hurt badly, and for a brief moment, Whiteness was within the antagonist’s grasp.

Without wasting the opportunity, the antagonist pressed forward, its intent exploding with absolute killing force, ready to erase the intruder completely.

But, just as it was about to finish Whiteness, a burst of profound power starts to emit from the latter’s cracked body, and space folded before collapsing inward.

The next instant, Whiteness vanished as he disappeared, leaving behind only distorted space and fading traces of its presence!

“…!”

‘He used the Void Autocrat!’ Jacob’s eyes flickered as he knew exactly what Whiteness had just used.

Void Autocrat was a unique and exclusive growth-type magic talent that made the Aletheion Albus universally recognized as the Void Mantis. It was the first connate ability it was born with.

The Void Autocrat not only allows the Void Mantis to learn about the Law of Void at a terrifying rate, even before reaching the Legendary Rank, but as it evolves further, it grants it profound innate abilities on top of its own bloodline abilities.

Just like right now, Whiteness had used a rare ability named the ‘Void Escape’ that he had awakened through the Void Autocrat.

Although this ability might occur among other Zodiac Beasts, the rank of those Zodiac Beasts had to be above Fable Legendary State. Even this Fable Legendary Zodiac Beast might never be able to awaken it, yet Whiteness already possessed it in Epic Rank.

That’s what made the Void Autocrat talent so terrifying and unpredictable, and even Jacob was astounded when he learned about this insane exclusive talent of the Void Mantis through one of its Fragmented Dreams; it was even more powerful than Autarch.

However, because of this exact reason, the evaluation conditions of the Void Mantis were extremely harsh and special to the point of being almost impossible to complete.

Moreover, Jacob still had no idea about those conditions and had yet to come in contact with them, maybe because they were extremely precious and existed within the Primary or even the True Category of the Dreamscape Realm.

But Jacob was now somewhat familiar with Whiteness’s movements, which is why he was able to discern the Void Autocrat that seemed to have evolved again and grant Whiteness the ability to escape when he was about to be killed by a Fable Legendary State Zodiac Beast despite being at the Epic Rank.

In the vicinity, silence fell once Whiteness managed to escape the antagonist’s clutches, but it lasted only a single moment, as, in the next moment, pure, unfiltered rage spread.

The massive Zodiac Beast released a deafening, formless cry that shook the surrounding void, its intent erupting uncontrollably as waves of Void Energy tore through everything around it.

Although it had won, it hadn’t finished Whiteness; the intruder had escaped again, and this time from within its grasp.

The void trembled under its fury, and somewhere within that chaos, Jacob remained still watching and learning because now it felt like the nightmare had truly begun, and he wasn’t wrong either, as the ‘antagonist’ did not calm.

Instead, the massive Zodiac Beast moved like a force of nature unchained, its enormous body tearing through the layered structure of Zodiac Beasts it had so carefully built. Waves of dense Void Energy surged outward with every motion, distorting space, crushing anything caught in its wake.

It was no longer hunting but venting its rage blindly and unrestrained.

The other Zodiac Beasts scattered in every direction, their instincts screaming at them to flee, but escape meant nothing. Some were caught in collapsing folds of space. Others were seized mid-flight, their bodies crushed and devoured before they could even react.

The surrounding void echoed with silent destruction, but Jacob didn’t move or simply couldn’t because of that rampage.

Even with his control, even with Anachronism wrapping his presence into something almost nonexistent, this level of chaos left no room for error. One wrong shift, one misplaced reaction, and he would cease to exist.

He watched as the massive entity rampaged, its movements growing more erratic the longer it failed to find its target, Whiteness, who was completely gone.

At that moment, another Unique Rank beast was torn apart, then another, and then even one of the stronger ones, something that had stood near the inner layer, was suddenly seized and devoured without hesitation.

This time, there was no pattern or control, only fury.

Jacob’s thoughts sharpened, ‘It’s losing stability and giving into its chaotic instincts after suffering such a failure. Well, this guy’s intelligence isn’t high, and considering its behavioral patterns, this creature wasn’t built for failure or to be denied.

‘Now, after being humiliated probably for the first time and by the same entity again, and after letting that ‘easy’ prey escape from its very grasp, it’s lashing out at everything within reach just like a manic…’

However, even in that madness, it still couldn’t find Whiteness, and slowly, gradually, the destruction began to slow as the void, though fractured and unstable, stopped collapsing further and started to repair.

The massive Zodiac Beast hovered in place, its enormous form trembling slightly as waves of Void Energy continued to pulse outward; residual, uncontrolled, and then it finally turned.

It was returning to the center, to its domain, and Jacob sensed it approaching, quickly hiding his existence even further under dull instinct and the same submission.

Once the structure reformed, crude, incomplete, but functional, the massive Zodiac Beast settled again at the center, and it began absorbing Void Energy.

But this time, there was no rhythm or calm. It devoured the energy violently, almost greedily, as if trying to suppress something within itself.

However, suddenly, it looked at ‘Jacob’, and the latter’s entire existence sharpened in an instant as he sensed a faint, almost nonexistent, but unmistakable, trace of killing intent!
