Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1264: The Expedition Begins

Chapter 1264: The Expedition Begins

The Mythical Coalition moved quickly.

After the war council ended, countless new orders spread throughout the fleets. Massive formations shifted across the space as the main armada, which had remained outside the Sagittarius Continent until now, finally began advancing toward the gray world below.

The objective had changed as it was no longer merely a rescue mission or a hunt for the mysterious Death Lord; instead, every Quasi-Myth had now heard the same story about the mysterious powerhouse.

The Death Lord’s teacher, an unknown existence powerful enough to force the Undead Skyfall to retreat, was perhaps the greatest opportunity the Legendary Plains had seen in countless years.

The grave of a fallen God, and the treasures hidden beneath the Undead Skyfall Canyons!

Inside the flagship, the Myth of Oracle silently watched the endless fleets descend through layers of death mist.

Behind the expressionless mask, countless calculations flowed as she still didn’t believe every word the Myth of Reverend had spoken.

The existence of divine remnants, ancient inheritances, a weakened sealed God, and everything sounded plausible, in fact, too plausible, but it was precisely the kind of truth mixed with lies that the Myth of Reverend loved using.

Yet, she also couldn’t deny the possibility that if even a fraction of it proved true, abandoning the expedition now would become the greatest mistake in the Mythical Coalition’s history.

After a long silence, she spoke calmly, “I will remain outside.”

Several Quasi-Myths looked toward her.

“The command of the outer fleets cannot be left unattended.” The pentagram on her mask rotated slowly as she made a believable excuse to remain outside, “As for entering the Sagittarius Continent, I leave that decision to each of you.”

Silence followed, with no objections or persuasion, only thoughtful expressions.

Finally, the Myth of Venom smiled, “Then I’ll go.”

The Myth of Alchemy crackled, “So, will I since it a rare opportunity to broad my horizons.”

The Myth of Dark Blaze said coldly, “It has been a long time since something truly interesting appeared.”

One after another, the remaining Quasi-Myths made their decisions as some chose caution, some chose ambition, and some simply refused to miss what could become the greatest opportunity of their lives.

The Myth of Oracle watched them silently as she neither approved nor stopped them.

Elsewhere, the doors to a private chamber slowly opened, and the Myth of Reverend stepped out. His familiar warm, kind, gentle, and harmless smile had already returned. Exactly as everyone remembered him.

Yet those who knew him well noticed something different. A hidden gravity beneath that smile, as his eyes no longer held playful amusement. Instead, they resembled a hunter who had finally discovered fresh tracks.

“Myth of Reverend.” The Myth of Dark Blaze approached, and with a hint of anticipation, he stated, “We’re departing.”

The Myth of Reverend nodded softly, “Wonderful.”

His gaze drifted toward the gray continent below.

“It seems…our long-awaited journey finally begins.”

Time passed, and the skies above the Sagittarius Continent trembled before one fleet…ten fleets…a hundred fleets…the enormous armada descended like an endless sea of steel.

The vanguard fleet soon rendezvoused with the arriving expeditionary force, communication arrays synchronized, formation barriers merged, and countless warships aligned into massive battle formations stretching across the horizon.

Even the Myth of Inferno couldn’t help but sigh, “Now this is beginning to resemble a proper expedition.”

The Myth of Thunder laughed loudly, “And this is far better than finding some unknown fellow. Whatever is hiding inside those canyons…it won’t stay hidden for long.”

Jacob, who had been watching everything, remained silent while observing the armada with a peculiar light in his emotionless eyes.

Soon, the gigantic expedition changed direction, and instead of remaining near the survivor encampment, even those survivors joined them, as they didn’t have a choice right now. Some of them even regained their confidence after seeing that terrifying army.

The entire force advanced directly toward the heart of the Sagittarius Continent, toward the Undead Skyfall Canyons!

No one questioned the decision, especially not after hearing the Myth of Reverend’s explanation about a weakened God, divine relics, and ancient inheritances.

Even if only one out of ten rumors proved true, the rewards would still be unimaginable, and ambition quietly replaced caution.

Yet, unbeknownst to everyone, the Myth of Reverend standing upon the flagship’s observation deck was actually never there.

The smiling figure greeting commanders, discussing formations, and watching the continent was merely a flawless projection.

The real Myth of Reverend had already vanished the instant the expedition crossed the continental barrier…

He quietly separated from the fleet without any fluctuations, spatial ripples, or aura. Even the surrounding Quasi-Myths never noticed anything unusual.

A solitary figure slipped into the endless death mist, disappearing completely like a ghost beginning its own hunt.

Not far away, a black-cloaked figure silently stood upon another flagship. Jacob’s eyes remained fixed upon the command vessel where the Myth of Reverend supposedly resided.

Several breaths passed, and then one of his eyes, which had turned into hollow, golden-white flames, flickered before his eyes narrowed faintly.

‘…Interesting.’

Within his perception of the Eyes of Judge, every Quasi-Myth was present, except one, the Myth of Reverend.

Jacob had even searched carefully and twice, but there wasn’t even the slightest trace of the man’s presence aboard the flagship, only a perfect imitation.

A thoughtful light flickered through Jacob’s eyes before disappearing entirely.

‘So, you’re probably searching for me personally.’ His lips curled almost imperceptibly beneath the hood. ‘Then keep searching!’

He had no intention of exposing the truth; on the contrary, the farther the Myth of Reverend wandered from the fleet, the happier Jacob became.

After all, a hunter chasing the wrong prey could never notice another hunter harvesting everything behind him.

“Can I finally start?” Nyx’s cheerful voice echoed inside his mind at this moment as if she couldn’t wait to spring into action.

Jacob’s gaze slowly swept across the countless warships surrounding them, and he sensed them all, every Quasi-Myth, Legendary King…especially the believer of the Order of Everlife.

Now, after everything Blanklet had revealed, after discovering the contaminated lifespan, and after confirming Nyx could devour it without consequence, there was nothing left to hesitate about.

His eyes became frighteningly cold. “Yes.”

Nyx immediately became excited, “The Quasi-Myths, too?”

Jacob slowly nodded, “Start whenever you feel the opportunity is right.”

A cruel smile finally appeared beneath the Myth of Black Archer’s hood, “Let’s begin the real harvest!”
