Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1279: The Gate of Undead Skyfall Prison

Chapter 1279: The Gate of Undead Skyfall Prison

Inside the treasury, Jacob observed patiently, and he instantly noticed that, unlike the throne room above, there were no formations here, no suppressive arrays, and not even hidden mechanisms; at least his current Eyes of Judge couldn’t see any.

Jacob silently swept his gaze across the endless collection of ancient weapons, armor carrying forgotten authorities, unknown divine metals, bones radiating pressure that surpassed Quasi-Myths, black crystals larger than mountains, ancient wisdom tomes, and forgotten relics.

The mere existence of these objects caused the surrounding space to distort, and every treasure here would shake the Legendary Plains if revealed.

Moreover, the most ironic part about all this was that the Mythical Coalition was fighting to reach this very place in the outskirts of the Undead Skyfall Canyons while putting their lives on the line.

Not to mention, this was an empty promise made up by the Myth of Reverend to use everyone as cannon fodder, as the former himself had no idea that they truly existed here.

Now Jacob had reached this place by solely relying on his Eyes of Judge, without much effort.

Yet Jacob merely observed all those priceless treasures calmly. Maybe, years ago he would have risked everything to obtain even one of them, but today he didn’t move.

Because he had gathered many priceless treasures like the Temple of the Blazing Flames and the Divine Soulless Pagoda, as well as the Divine Repository, which contained countless treasures gathered by Whiteness, a Higher God Void Mantis!

However, Jacob couldn’t control any of them, much less use them, because his current rank was simply too low, and the artifacts would be no different whether he wasted his lifespan to gather them or not.

Lastly, it wasn’t like Jacob felt those treasures weren’t worthy of his attention; in fact, they were compelling enough beyond reason, yet something far stranger had captured his attention.

The profound-colored spectrums completely ignored the treasury, and not one current flowed toward the countless treasures. Instead, they passed quietly through the chamber, toward another wall.

It was almost like the treasury was a front for something even deeper and more terrifying, and Jacob could guess what could be even more precious than all those treasures.

‘The sealed Undead Skyfall might be closer…’ Jacob’s eyes turned cold.

He followed them as they continued toward the deepest end of the chamber, and the farther he walked, the fewer treasures remained.

Eventually, the treasury simply ended, and ahead of him, there was no hidden corridor, no descending staircase, or concealed mechanism, but only a wall or rather, a door.

It was seamlessly embedded into the black stone itself, so perfectly integrated with the surrounding architecture that it almost appeared to have grown from the citadel. There were no hinges, handle, keyhole, or even visible seams.

There were only a pair of colossal stone doors, and unlike the murals decorating the fortress, these doors carried only a single carving of a lone skeletal figure.

It possessed no crown, armor, or weapon as it simply stood with both hands resting upon the top of a long staff planted before its feet.

Its posture was strangely ordinary, yet the longer Jacob looked, the more indescribable pressure settled over his thoughts as its empty eye sockets seemed to overlook neither heaven nor earth. Instead, they overlooked everything.

Behind the silent skeletal figure floated an enormous circular wheel, and it was not a wheel forged from metal nor stone, as it appeared to be formed from countless overlapping rings that endlessly revolved around one another without ever moving.

Every ring carried innumerable tiny symbols, yet no matter how hard Jacob focused, he couldn’t distinguish even one. At the very center of that impossible wheel rested a single seal.

The seal was simple and circular, almost unremarkable, as it resembled nothing more than two interlocking circles; one pale white and one absolute black. There were no runes, formations, or laws.

There was nothing, as the seal simply existed, yet that seal alone bound the entire doorway shut.

Jacob’s Eyes of Judge immediately focused upon it, and he found nothing, making his flaming eyes contract because it was completely blank, as though the Eyes of Judge had suddenly gone blind.

It was the first time something like this had happened because even when the Eyes of Judge couldn’t see through something, they wouldn’t simply go blank. Even when facing powers far beyond himself, the Eyes of Judge always revealed something like a fragment, a flaw, or a hidden spectrum.

Yet this seal revealed absolutely nothing, not even danger, and that absence alone sent a chill through Jacob’s mind.

Because if the Eyes of Judge couldn’t even determine whether something was dangerous, then that thing already existed beyond everything they were capable of perceiving.

Jacob instinctively took half a step backward. “So, this is the end.”

He quietly accepted it; whatever secret the profound-colored spectrums were pursuing, it ended here- behind this sealed door. A place he simply wasn’t qualified to enter.

Jacob couldn’t help but think in self-mockery, ‘And here I thought I could threaten a sealed God and plunder his Godly Faith Nectar? Heh, I can’t even bypass his prison’s door!’

Jacob didn’t try to force his way because he knew nothing about the dangers associated with such actions, and despite feeling uneasy about those flowing streams, he didn’t want to take such a huge risk.

Just as he was about to turn around, suddenly the seal moved or more accurately, it flickered. It lasted less than an instant.

The next moment, the intertwined black and white circles softly rippled like calm water disturbed by a falling leaf.

Jacob’s body instantly tensed as he hadn’t touched the door, nor had he activated any mechanism, and he hadn’t even approached within several meters.

Yet the circular seal continued rippling, silently, without releasing even the slightest fluctuation. Then, the revolving wheel behind the skeletal figure began to turn.

But not physically, as reality itself seemed to rotate around it, and the surrounding space folded inward. The black stone before the door quietly dissolved into countless translucent ripples.

A vortex slowly formed, and it wasn’t tearing space apart, nor opening a portal. Instead, it resembled reality politely stepping aside.

The passage widened, soundlessly and patiently, as though something beyond the sealed door had decided to permit a visitor or someone from the inside had found a way to open it!
