Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1282: The Faithful’s Arrival!

Chapter 1282: The Faithful’s Arrival!

After witnessing the new development of the main battle between the Mythical Coalition and the Undead Armies, inside the hidden vessel, Lucy’s voice turned cold as she commented, “This is no longer a battle. It is slaughter wearing the shape of a battle.”

Ellie didn’t care much about whether the Mythical Coalition won or lost, for all that mattered was how long they could hold the Undead Army back.

She coldly questioned, “Can they win?”

Nelson watched the projection, sweat sliding down his temple as he replied, “No.”

The answer was immediate, and Ellie stared at him.

Nelson’s eyes remained on the battlefield and said matter-of-factly, “Not without Reverend.”

The moment he spoke that name, the Timeless Hourglass trembled, making Nelson freeze.

Lucy’s expression changed as she noticed this abrupt change and solemnly asked, “What is it now?”

Nelson didn’t answer and merely looked toward the distant mist where A golden-blue thread had entered the edge of his detection. It was warm, gentle, and holy, yet above all, terrifying!

Nelson’s face became slightly pale as he sternly declared, “He’s here!”

—

In the skies that had become a graveyard of broken laws, golden-blue light descended at that moment, but it did not explode; it simply arrived like morning entering a room, and warmth touching a corpse.

It was like a prayer answered too late!

At the center of that radiance walked a man in immaculate robes, his smile gentle, his eyes bright, his posture relaxed as though he had come to admire flowers rather than step onto a battlefield where Quasi-Myths were fighting for their lives.

It was the Myth of Reverend!

“My apologies,” He said softly, and somehow his voice reached every corner of the battlefield. “It seems I am late.”

The Myth of Inferno’s burning eyes widened.

The Myth of Thunder spat blood and laughed, and cursed out loud without caring about pleasantries anymore, “You damn smiling bastard… took your time!”

The Myth of Reverend pretended not to have heard Myth of Thunder’s words, but smiled nonetheless and placed one hand over his chest and bowed slightly.

“I had a small errand.”

At that moment, the Dukes of Death turned for the first time, but their charge didn’t slow at all as they didn’t give a damn about another Quasi-Myth’s arrival.

But the Corpse Wyvern Lord’s ghost flames narrowed, “That one…”

Right at that moment, the Myth of Reverend raised his right hand, and golden-blue glyphs bloomed across his wrist like living scripture.

“Everlife Benediction!”

Thereafter, a warm radiance spread across the coalition Quasi-Myths, and something miraculous happened.

Myth of Inferno’s cracked scales sealed. Myth of Thunder’s black lightning wounds were forced out. Myth of Dark Blaze’s dimming flames stabilized. Myth of Venom’s collapsing domain condensed again. Myth of Alchemy’s cracked cauldron rang once, clear and ancient.

The Quasi-Myths of the Mythical Coalition erupted in disbelief.

But Reverend did not stop as his vertical pupils narrowed, barely visible beneath his gentle eyes. He looked at a Duke whose rotten Celestial Astrolabe was pressing down on Dark Blaze.

“Serpent Hourglass Edict!”

For one breath, the Duke’s movement stopped, but not his body or time; instead, his remaining moment arrived late, his defense arrived late, his death authority circulated late, and his instinct warned him late.

The Myth of Reverend smiled kindly, but he wasn’t done at all, and without giving the Dukes of Death a chance to figure out what was going on, he continued.

“Everlife Decree…” As those words surfaced, golden-blue light gathered into a single line across his fingertip, “Return What Was Borrowed!”

Thereafter, the line passed through the Duke, and there was no explosion, scream, or resistance. The Duke simply collapsed, its rotten Celestial Astrolabe unraveling like a debt being collected.

Instantly, the battlefield froze as a Quasi-Myth Duke of Death had perished with a single move of Myth of Reverend!

Inside the hidden vessel, Ellie took a step back, Lucy’s face became icy, and Nelson’s breathing almost stopped.

Although he had known Myth of Reverend was dangerous, knowing and seeing were different things!

At this moment, the Myth of Reverend turned toward the next Duke, smiling as warmly as ever as he causally said, “Now then, shall we continue?”

Right now, it was almost like the Myth of Reverend was not confronting anyone but passing down judgment like he was judged.

He walked across the battlefield with unhurried steps, and wherever his gaze fell, golden-blue scripture bloomed. The skeletal wyvern suddenly lunged toward him, creating a chain of death long enough to bind a mountain.

But Myth of Reverend lifted one finger as he smilingly uttered, “Faith-Crowned Gaze!”

The wyvern froze midair as golden-blue light pierced its hollow eyes. Its soul flame trembled violently, not from pain, but from contradiction as his life forced itself into death, and continuation invaded decay. For an undead, it was blasphemy.

The Myth of Inferno seized the chance and tore through the wyvern’s chest with draconic fire.

At that moment, a Duke tried to retreat, but the Myth of Reverend merely flashed a benevolent smile.

“Cycle of Borrowed Eternity!”

Across the coalition fleet, hundreds of Everlife disciples suddenly gasped, and mystical golden glyphs like glowing tattoos began to appear all over their bodies; they all felt rejuvenated.

But they were all unaware that their lifespan had just dimmed by a hair without even their notice, and that stolen continuation gathered around Myth of Reverend’s hand.

Thereafter, he flicked his sleeve, and a golden-blue serpent of light crossed the sky and bit into the Duke’s rotten Celestial Astrolabe, and it cracked!

The Myth of Thunder also snapped out of his stupor and roared with laughter and smashed it apart.

Instantly, the morale surged, and the coalition soldiers, who had been drowning in despair moments ago, began cheering like madmen.

The Quasi Myths also attacked with renewed force as the Myth of Inferno burned, the Myth of Thunder shattered, the Myth of Dark Blaze devoured, the Myth of Venom corroded, and the Myth of Alchemy refined.

Finally, the Myth of Reverend stood behind them like a gentle sun no one dared look at directly, and under his gentle gaze, one Duke of Death after another fell.

The Corpse Wyvern Lord’s expression finally changed like the others of his companions.

He couldn’t help but blurt out, “What is that power?”

The Myth of Reverend’s smile deepened as he heard those words and replied profoundly, “Mercy!”

On the other hand, Nelson almost laughed bitterly from inside the hidden vessel.

‘Mercy?’ He lampooned while thinking, ‘That man’s mercy is more terrifying than hatred!’

Suddenly, the Timeless Hourglass trembled again, and Nelson hurriedly suppressed it as his stolen Everlife beads reacted to the Myth of Reverend’s authority.

Lucy also noticed as she worriedly asked, “Can he sense us?”

“Not yet,” Nelson said with a hint of uncertainty.

Ellie’s voice cracked. “Not yet?”

Nelson’s eyes were fixed on the Myth of Reverend.

“He is busy.”

“And when he is not?”

Nelson did not answer because on the battlefield, the fallen remains of the Dukes of Death had begun to move!
