Chapter 1299: Planet Destroyer: Fire! (3)
Chapter 1299: Planet Destroyer: Fire! (3)
The moment Black Mechanic acknowledged Jacob’s command, the entire treasury descended into another apocalypse.
‘BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!’
Countless weapons fired simultaneously, but this time, however, Alexandra was prepared, for she knew what was coming.
She knew which weapons carried Stellar Spirit Energy, which ones could collapse space, which ones carried Death Law, and, most importantly, she knew how terrifying those strange Magic-Nuclear weapons were.
But knowing wasn’t the same as being able to avoid them.
The first barrage had already destroyed the surrounding region, and the second barrage turned that destruction into something far worse. Thousands of elemental weapons fired together, and their attacks didn’t merely collide, but they interacted.
Fire Law collided with Lightning Law; Wind Law accelerated the flames; Water Law compressed the surrounding space; Earth Law distorted gravity; Death Law contaminated the remnants of shattered Laws; Stellar Energies pierced everything; and then the Magic-Nuclear weapons arrived.
‘BOOM!’
A black sphere exploded without producing a conventional shockwave; instead, a strange distortion spread outward. Wherever it passed, the remaining Laws began twisting together.
Fire, death, wind, lightning, space, soul, and even the shattered remnants of Law fragments left behind by the previous bombardment were dragged toward the distortion.
Alexandra’s eyes contracted. ‘What is happening?’
She immediately changed direction, and a Stellar Spirit projectile passed less than a foot from her body. The instant it passed, the surrounding darkness was completely erased.
Alexandra’s expression became ugly, but she didn’t dare slow down.
Right at that moment, another Magic-Nuclear projectile detonated behind her.
‘BOOM!’
This time, something different happened: the poisonous-looking black mist, filled with destructive debris produced by the explosion, didn’t disperse.
Instead, it remained suspended in the destroyed region, and the miasma slowly absorbed the scattered elemental energies around it. Fire disappeared into the black mist, lightning vanished into it, fragments of Earth Law were swallowed, and even remnants of spatial energy were devoured.
Thereafter, the radioactive miasma became thicker, stronger, and more vicious.
Alexandra’s expression finally changed. ‘It’s feeding on the destruction?’
She instantly understood. The Magic-Nuclear weapons weren’t merely destroying the surrounding environment, but their explosions had created a strange destructive ecosystem.
Every Law that was shattered became nourishment, and every elemental force that lost control became fuel, while every fragment of magical energy was absorbed and transformed.
At this point, the more Starfall destroyed, the stronger those strange black regions became, and because countless different ammunition types were being fired simultaneously, the phenomenon was multiplying at an astonishing speed.
‘BOOM!’
Another Magic-Nuclear warhead detonated, and the resulting miasma collided with a massive wave of Fire Law. Instead of being destroyed, the black miasma swallowed the flames, and its color deepened as a faint crimson glow appeared inside it.
Thereafter, the entire region erupted…
‘BOOOOOOM!’
Alexandra’s body flashed through the darkness, and a wave of corrosive energy passed behind her. Her expression was cold with a hint of faint dread.
She wasn’t afraid of poison, nor of spiritual corrosion. As the Heir of Chaotic Darkness, she could resist far more terrifying forms of corruption, but resistance wasn’t the same as unlimited endurance.
Alexandra was still a Quasi-Myth, and even if she was far stronger than any Quasi-Myth outside and possessed the inheritance of a Universal Godly Scripture, there was still a limit to how much power she could endure, especially when she still didn’t have the Godly Universal Artifact.
In this situation, the longer this continued, the more terrifying the environment became, and if this bizarre miasma kept growing, even Jacob would have to reconsider standing in the midst of it.
Alexandra glanced backward, and her eyes narrowed.
The space between the opened door and the treasury was now filled with countless black regions where poisonous miasma, elemental Laws, spatial fragments, and magical energy intertwined. It was almost as if Starfall had created a living storm of destruction.
‘I won’t be able to endure this forever.’ She gritted her teeth with hatred for Jacob.
Right at that moment, another barrage descended, and she vanished, but a spatial-collapse bullet exploded where she had been.
Just when she reappeared several hundred meters away, three Stellar Spirit projectiles immediately crossed her path.
She twisted sideways, but one passed her shoulder, and another grazed the edge of her cloak. The third was about to strike her directly when Alexandra forcibly tore herself through a chaotic spatial fracture.
‘BOOM!’
The projectile exploded behind her, and her body trembled. ‘Too close!’
She hadn’t expected Starfall to become this difficult to evade.
The first barrage had forced her to expend so much power, but the second was different, as the destroyed battlefield itself was now working against her.
Every dodge created another unstable region, every attack destroyed another portion of space, and every destruction event seemed to provide nourishment to the strange radioactive miasma.
Alexandra suddenly realized something terrifying, and her eyes became cold. ‘The longer this goes on, the harder it becomes to escape!’
At the same time, Jacob stood motionless in the middle of the catastrophe while the Life Bane Wheel continued rotating behind him.
His hollow sockets silently watched the destruction, and then his expression subtly changed when his Eyes of Judge noticed something.
‘Wait.’
Jacob stared at the black miasma, and his gaze sharpened.
The Magic-Nuclear energy wasn’t behaving according to the original calculations, which were based on small-scale experiments, not to mention it was just based on magic-nuclear energy.
The magic-nuclear energy still creates radiation hundreds of times stronger than traditional radiation caused by nuclear energy, and can even corrode souls while causing dangerous soul mutations, not just physical bodies.
But right now, the magic-nuclear energy had been exposed to too many new components filled with similar destructive quantities after their explosions.
So, unexpectedly, it was not only absorbing the surrounding destructive energies, but it was also becoming stronger- not simply more powerful, but also changing and adapting.
Jacob’s eyes flickered with realization, ‘So that’s what happens when Magic-Nuclear ammunition interacts with Laws on this scale…’
He hadn’t anticipated this, as this was his first true battlefield test of Starfall, and this phenomenon was completely new.
A faint gleam appeared in his eyes. ‘Black Mechanic.’
“Awaiting command, sir.”
‘Secretly analyze that phenomenon.’
Jacob’s gaze remained fixed on empty regions being bombarded by the Starfall, while there was still no trace of Alexandra.
‘Don’t interfere with Starfall’s targeting. Just collect samples of the resulting energy and store them at different time intervals so we can get more comprehensive data on their changes!’
There was a brief pause before Black Mechanic’s voice sounded, “Understood!”
The next instant, the Planet Destroyer’s systems immediately diverted a tiny fraction of their processing capability, and hidden mechanisms within several weapons began collecting traces of the strange miasma.
Jacob’s eyes remained cold. ‘I’ll study it later, and maybe this is the path to the new evolution of magic-nuclear energy!’
