Chapter 744 - 89: Cultivating New Fields
Chapter 744: Chapter 89: Cultivating New Fields
Under the same starry sky of the North Campus, there was another new scene.
Xiao Xian came out of the Spiritual Fruit Garden at nearly six in the evening.
As she walked past the flower field, she noticed a lot of short branches that hadn’t been trimmed by the garden robots yet, so she picked some Primroses.
The flower field surrounded by the Spiritual Fruit Garden, produces a large amount of excess branches and leaves every day. According to the trimming standard, it’s enough for an ordinary-sized flower shop.
Primrose is a common vine flower in the south. Its branches and leaves spread out, and most importantly, it blooms immediately upon planting. As spring arrives, the banana-colored flowers bloom profusely.
Xiao Xian’s new apartment’s balcony was still devoid of any flowers, and Primroses were perfect to adorn it.
Compared to Area B and C, there’s a significant difference, with all kinds of facilities fully equipped. At a glance, it looks like a miniature university town.
Xiao Xian rarely walked in Area B, so she slowed down a bit tonight.
Compared to primary students, intermediate students had a distinct difference. The Intermediate Students at North Campus, mostly aged between 20 to 30, predominantly were of Xu Lan Ya and Wang Shuai’s age group, often wearing a look of snobbery and giving annoying glances to strangers.
This was something Xiao Xian never encountered in Area C, where the students were mainly teenagers and young adults in their early twenties, their looks still free from too much worldly influence.
Continuing to live in Area C was indeed the right choice.
After moving into the new apartment, the three roommates agreed to take turns cooking and cleaning once a week, and all together on Sundays.
Today was Wednesday, and it was Yiyi’s turn to cook.
She was in the kitchen, cheerfully humming while chopping cucumbers picked from the balcony.
The balcony of the new apartment, used by Xiao Xian as a one-third-sized vegetable garden, held cucumbers from Yu Gang that were growing splendidly.
In about a week, they flowered and bore fruit, tasting much better than those picked from the Spiritual Fruit Garden.
Not seeing Xuerou in the apartment, Xiao Xian got a pair of scissors and brought some soil up from downstairs. Ever since the Spiritual Rhinoceros Scissors saved her life last time, Xiao Xian rarely used them as ordinary scissors.
Reaching the balcony, Xuerou was holding a monocular, gazing toward Sha Lake.
"It’s getting dark and you’re not turning on the lights. What are you looking at? You really look like some voyeuristic boys back at Sacred Heart," Xiao Xian joked with Xuerou as she moved some soil to the specially made wooden fence on the balcony.
Back when they were still studying at Sacred Heart Middle School, there was a girl on the girls’ basketball team whose dorm building faced a boys’ dorm building.
One day, a female student noticed a boy using a telescope to peek into the girls’ dorm, and the matter eventually reached the school leaders.
"The monocular is for observing Sha Lake," Xuerou spit in disdain, putting down the cola-bottle-sized black monocular she had found while sorting through the surplus inventory at the supply center of Area C.
It’s undeniable, Romeo One had some oddly weird tastes when sourcing goods. This monocular, originally, was never sold because it came in with a broken lens.
After changing the lens, Xuerou spent 100 Heaven-defying Values to buy it second-hand from Romeo One.
Xiao Xian and Yiyi said they did not see any light spots in Sha Lake, but Xuerou still believed she wasn’t wrong. For better observation, she brought the telescope over.
"Strange, why didn’t I see the light spots today," Xuerou adjusted the focus while Xiao Xian planted the trimmed Primrose branches and took out a packet of seeds wrapped in paper.
A strong medicinal fragrance wafted to Xuerou, "What’s that smell? It smells a lot like the ginseng lozenges my mom often eats." Failing to observe anything at Sha Lake, Xuerou put the monocular away discontentedly.
After planting the Primroses and with some leftover soil, Xiao Xian didn’t waste it but instead mixed the soil with some Silver Grade Spiritual Energy Water, forming it into a fist-sized mud ball.
The strong scent of ginseng came from the seeds wrapped by Xiao Xian.
"Is it ginseng’s scent?" Xuerou had already heard from Xiao Xian, who wanted to plant ginseng in the Spiritual Fruit Garden, "The seeds’ color is quite unique, why are they purple?"
