Dark Magus Returns

Chapter 1639: The Dark Guild Leader

Chapter 1639: The Dark Guild Leader

The moment Harvey stepped into view, the atmosphere around the battlefield shifted. Even before he spoke, even before he lifted a finger, the tension among every Dark Guild member thickened. This man, this single individual, had been the heart of the Dark Guild long before the Dark Magus ever stepped foot into their world.

He was the one who had overseen the construction of the base. He was the one who shaped the Guild’s hierarchy, its punishments, its rituals, its ideology.

And because of that, many Dark Guild members believed Harvey was the true leader. Not Raze. Not the Dark Magus. Harvey.

Their reasons for joining had always varied. Some followed out of fear. Some out of desperation. Some wanted revenge. Some wanted chaos. And some wanted someone to blame for their suffering.

For many of them, Harvey had been the symbol of that power, the one they saw as capable of punishing the world.

Which was why the moment they saw him arrive, several Dark Guild members almost looked relieved.

But Alen did not.

His eyes widened with rage, the same rage that had been burning inside him from the moment the Dark Guild turned against the Underside.

"I’ve been waiting for this," Alen shouted, his voice cracking with both fury and exhaustion. "I’ve been waiting for this for a long time! And finally, finally, there isn’t anyone left to get in our way!"

He didn’t hesitate.

Two flaming dragons erupted from his palms, swirling through the smoke-ridden air. His mana reserves were almost drained from the battles he’d already fought, but his hatred burned hotter than anything left inside him.

The flames roared forward,

, but before they reached Harvey, a massive figure dropped down behind him.

The Shadow Puppet.

The monstrous, multi-limbed puppet that Harvey had crafted through countless killings and ever-growing Dark Magic. Its enormous arms extended outward and wrapped around Harvey like a protective cocoon. The dragon flames crashed into the puppet’s back and exploded violently, engulfing the massive figure in a fiery cloud.

Panic rippled through some of the Dark Guild members.

"He attacked him directly?! Did we react too slow, ?!"

But when the flames finally faded, the puppet stood untouched. Not a single limb scorched. Not a single wisp of Dark Magic disrupted.

It was frightening.

Truly frightening how powerful the puppet had become.

Kelly’s breath caught in her throat. "That thing... it’s devastating. Even before, a large-scale attack like that would’ve at least dented it. But now... nothing. It didn’t even flinch."

"And with multiple limbs..." Sophie added, her voice shaking, "it can fight and defend at the same time. It’s a nightmare."

Londo gritted his teeth, then thrust both hands forward, wind in one, fire in the other. Mana burst outward, spiraling together into a flaming tornado that launched toward Harvey’s puppet.

"Add your Dark Magic!" he shouted.

Kelly and Sophie didn’t hesitate. They unleashed their Dark Magic from the sides, angling their attacks in a way that wouldn’t disrupt Londo’s spell. They’d fought together long enough to understand each other’s casting rhythms.

Alen was barely standing, but his team still rallied behind him. For a moment, their combined assault was enough to push the puppet back. Every attack, every spell, the flames, the wind, the darkened tendrils, collided with the puppet’s growing frame.

Londo allowed himself half a breath.

"There’s one advantage to that puppet getting bigger..." he muttered. "It’s a bigger target."

And they hit it again. And again.

Every spell landed. Every attack connected.

Even the puppet’s many limbs couldn’t deflect them all.

But then,

"What are you idiots doing?!" Harvey shouted, furious. "You’re letting them attack me while you stand there? Move! Attack them! Now!"

The Dark Guild members jolted from their shock, realizing how paralyzed they’d been by Harvey’s presence. They scrambled back into motion, blasting Dark Magic in all directions.

Alen’s group was forced to immediately defend themselves. They threw up barriers, dodged attacks, and screamed warnings to one another as the battlefield descended into chaos.

Meanwhile, Londo, Kelly, and Sophie were still focused on Harvey.

The puppet withdrew slightly, shifting its massive limbs protectively to cover Harvey’s back. It floated behind him like a monstrous shield, watching all angles.

And Harvey, calm, confident, eyes glowing with darkness, began to move.

"We need a plan," Londo hissed, sweat rolling down his face.

"The puppet is connected to Harvey!" Kelly said quickly. "If we take him out, the puppet dies too!"

"You don’t think I know that?!" Londo snapped. "But look at it! The moment we try to get close, that thing moves in front of him. And now it’s staying glued to his back! It’s impossible to get an opening!"

The puppet shifted.

Slowly.

Deliberately.

Its limbs stretched outward like enormous dark spears.

But instead of striking Alen’s group... Instead of attacking Londo, Kelly, or Sophie...

The limbs turned toward the Dark Guild members. And stabbed straight through their backs. One after another, the dark tendrils pierced the cores of Harvey’s own allies, killing them instantly. The battlefield froze.

Dark Guild members collapsed like puppets with cut strings, their bodies hitting the ground in sickening thuds.

Londo’s eyes went wide. "What the fck* is going on?!"

No one understood. Not Kelly. Not Sophie. Not Alen. Not even the remaining Dark Guild fighters.

But Harvey, Harvey’s expression never changed.

Not even a flicker of remorse crossed his face.

He simply watched as the lives he once commanded were extinguished in an instant.

And for the first time, both allies and enemies alike realized something,

Harvey wasn’t just unhinged. He wasn’t just dangerous. He wasn’t just corrupted by Dark Magic. He was willing to kill anyone, anyone, if they stood in the way of the power he believed he deserved.

Even his own people. Even the Dark Guild. Even the ones who followed him.

The battlefield trembled not from magic, but from fear.
