Dark Magus Returns

Chapter 1730 Breaking Through

Chapter 1730  Breaking Through

Raze charged in like he had done before, he was using his breakthrough, and without the magic attacks being absorbed into his special Black hole then it meant that his form would eventually dwindle down and he could no longer use it. He could already feel the strain at the edges of his body, the Dark Magic pulling and stretching his limits. The breakthrough wasn't something he could hold forever. It fed on mana, and if Trubin stopped supplying it through attacks, then it would fade.

Right as Raze moved, so did Trubin as he started to move around and once again was using his invisibility and his unique trait. The air distorted slightly where he stepped, the faintest ripple in space giving away movement that the eye could barely follow.

'He can still use that even when he's in his breakthrough form. Everything is making sense why they say he's the strongest fighting mage. Even the destruction of the lightning, its range is far, he truly is a one person army!'

Lightning attacks were constantly coming down, some of them were just hitting the ground. There were those that would hit the ground and then spark out and spread in a circular area, crawling like veins of darkness across the battlefield. The ground cracked and blackened wherever they touched, leaving nothing but scorched stone.

Lastly, there were then those that would bend, and come straight at Raze. Thankfully his reflexes were fast, he slashed and struck with his sword against them, as he stopped the lightning strikes, but they were like incredibly hard hits and his feet were shifting through the floor with each one even though they were firmly planted on the ground. Each impact rattled through his arms, numbing his fingers, testing the strength of his grip.

Raze then started to try and see it differently, rather than blocking he was almost fighting against the lightning form itself. He was swinging his sword using the power of his Qi with his magic, as he struck the lightning that was constantly coming towards his body. Instead of waiting for impact, he attacked the bolts mid descent, cutting through their core before they could fully form.

'This damn Trubin, every time, I seem to have one upped him in the fight, figured out something he can do, he comes up with something else to best me? How, how can I hurt him!'

Raze thought as he twisted his body mid air, he struck two lightning strikes and then the black hole had absorbed two strikes behind him as well. The Dark orb pulsed faintly as it swallowed the attacks, the threads of magic feeding back into his body, strengthening him further.

When he landed on the ground he could feel his body energized with Mana, and he thrusted his sword forward.

A sharp powerful Dark shot of magic had come out, powered by Trubin's own Magic right to the perfect spot. Raze still was able to tell where Trubin was, if he just used his other senses carefully. Even if the eye could not see him, the battlefield spoke.

He was using Qi on his ears to enhance his sense of hearing. He didn't have the Eternal Night formation active currently so he couldn't use the breaks in the dark magic, so he just needed to find another way. The faint crunch of stone, the disturbance in air pressure, the shift of energy where lightning gathered, these were enough.

This strike was so fast and powerful Trubin moved his hands down and four strikes of lightning came down from above, and had formed almost a solid wall. The attack hit and the two powers clashed with Trubin being able to block the strike. Dark and lightning magic tore at each other in a violent burst of energy that sent shockwaves across the field.

Right after though, Raze had bursted his way with speed so he was right next to where Trubin was. The ground beneath him cracked from the force of his acceleration.

When Raze swung his sword down, lightning came from above and struck the sword directly forcing it to hit the ground and Turbin's body disappeared once again. The blade slammed into stone instead, sending fragments into the air.

"Haha, you were so confident!" Raze claimed. "So confident that using your breakthrough would be better than mine!"

Raze claimed as he continued to block thunder strikes heading his way, and then one had hit the floor right in front of him, the dark magic thunder started to spread through the ground but at the same time Raze lifted his feet and slammed his Qi, diminishing the power of the thunder strikes and continued to look for where Trubin was. His Qi pushed back against the spreading energy, disrupting its flow just enough to prevent it from reaching his legs.

"You are the ideal example Trubin, the ideal example of someone who has talent, had everything going for him, and yet you choose to become a person for hire? You chose to do this with your life?"

Raze then swung his sword and destroyed two thunder strikes that were aiming for him. His body was learning a rhythm, a pattern to the way Trubin attacked. The delay between summons, the angle of descent, the direction of redirected strikes, there was structure hidden inside the chaos.

"Always stronger than your opponents, always more talented than them, to the point where you never really had to learn to fight, and grit, and get through things when it's hard!" Raze said as he leapt up in the air. Several strikes tried to hit him and he spun his sword in a circular motion blocking several of the strikes while one had hit him but he bore the pain. The impact burned across his side, dark lightning searing into his skin, but he refused to let it slow him.

The strikes aimed at his back charged him and he swung the sword down crushing the ground, and lifting Trubin up in the air as he had been hurt by the force of the strike even though it wasn't direct. The shockwave of Dark magic erupted outward, forcing space itself to recoil.

For a split second Trubin's body flickered into visibility as the force disrupted his trait.

"Trubin you have not gone through the same things as I have done, you do not carry the same weight on my shoulders and that is why I will win!"
