Volume 13 - Takamagahara: Chapter 10 - Sister’s Treatment
“Lily’s condition was not due to frailty of the body. On the contrary, her vitality was too vigorous, causing an excessive accumulation of the Charm Heavenly Path. When it reached a point of excess, it backfired, leaving her body weak and difficult to control.”
Rinne explained to Rei, “As her strength and mastery over the Charm Heavenly Path continue to grow, this problem will surface more frequently. That is why proper guidance and release are necessary. Otherwise, long-term accumulation could instead harm her body.”
“Guidance… release…” Rei solemnly knelt before Rinne. “I beg you, Lady Rinne, please teach me how to guide Lily.”
“Hmm…” Rinne’s expression carried a trace of complexity as she nodded. “Time is pressing. I will teach you the most direct and effective method, draw the overflowing Charm Heavenly Path from her body into your own. This will not only ease her condition, but will also be greatly beneficial to your own strength.”
At these words, a soft glimmer lit Rei’s eyes. “Lady Rinne, as long as it benefits Lily’s body, no matter what method it may be, I will do it.”
“I know what you’re thinking; of course I understand. At this point, if you wish to do it, that is best. If you refuse, there is no one else who could do it in your place.”
“……”
“Enough. I shall impart the secret art to you.”
Rinne began explaining briefly while simultaneously demonstrating the essence of the technique. Though it appeared simple on the surface, the methods were remarkably profound, each movement striking directly at the core. Rei could not help but feel awe in her heart. Though Rinne now existed only as a spirit body, her true mastery was likely unfathomable, far beyond anything Rei had ever imagined.
Rei, worried for Lily, devoted herself wholeheartedly to the lesson. With her high aptitude, she quickly grasped most of the technique.
“Then, Lady Rinne, Lily’s condition is urgent. I shall go now.”
“Go then. Remember, you are treating Lily. Do not think of anything else.”
“Yes.”
Outside, storms raged and icy winds swept through the mountain forests, yet Lily’s body still burned hot.
Following Rinne’s secret art, Rei began her exploration. One hand slipped beneath Lily’s clothes, the other under her skirt, pressing and tracing across her body as she tried to sense the fluctuations of the Charm Heavenly Path.
“How is it? What is the state of Lily’s Charm Heavenly Path?” Rinne’s voice sounded in her mind.
Because Rei maintained direct contact with Lily’s body, she naturally heard Rinne’s transmission.
“Uuuh… Lady Rinne, the place where Lily’s Charm Heavenly Path accumulates the most seems to be the Spirit Palace.” After examining several parts of Lily’s body, Rei reached her conclusion.
At this moment, Lily was still dazed, allowing Rei to examine her freely, only letting out faint murmurs.
“As I thought. Then begin from the Spirit Palace and draw out the fluctuations of the Charm Heavenly Path using the method I taught you,” Rinne instructed.
“Understood.”
Rei attempted the technique according to Rinne’s teaching. Yet after several tries, she was unable to draw forth the fluctuations of the Charm Heavenly Path. Growing anxious, Rei looked at Lily’s bewildered state, and her heart ached with both sorrow and worry. She redoubled her efforts.
However, no matter how many times she tried, even amid the storm and bitter cold, Rei soon found herself drenched in fragrant sweat, exhausted, and still unable to extract more than the faintest trace.
“How could this be… Lady Rinne, why is this happening?”
“Did you follow my method exactly? Was there any omission or uncertainty?”
“I remembered it clearly. The secret art flowed smoothly, without mistake. Yet I feel as though a powerful barrier lies between my hand and Lily’s Spirit Palace,” Rei admitted helplessly.
Unable to manage even this much for her younger sister, Rei could not help but feel ashamed.
“So that is how it is. It seems you truly cannot do it,” Rinne said with a note of regret.
“Eh? Cannot do it? Lady Rinne, what do you mean by that? In what way am I incapable?”
“If it were Shimizu, she would certainly succeed.”
“What?” Rei’s face flushed crimson with both shame and sadness. “Lady Rinne, I know well that my talent is of little worth in your eyes. Yet I have already given everything for my younger sister. To say that in this matter I cannot match Shimizu… that I cannot accept!”
“Huh? Why are you so emotional?” Rinne said gently. “Calm yourself. In matters like this, impatience is the greatest taboo, you should understand that, shouldn’t you? When I said you could not do it, I did not mean you were less charming or skilled than Shimizu. There is no need for you to feel upset. What I meant was that your current strength is far inferior to hers.”
“What? So that was it… Forgive me. Shimizu is already at the Supreme God level. Lady Rinne, in comparison, I am truly powerless.” Rei’s face turned even redder. Realizing she had misunderstood, she felt utterly mortified.
“Lily’s body is one of the strongest even among Supreme Gods. For someone at the Big Dipper Stage to try and draw out the fluctuations of the Charm Heavenly Path through the defenses of her Spirit Palace… even with my secret art, it is simply forcing the impossible. After all, I have never tested this method with someone at the Big Dipper Stage. I overlooked this, and it is not your fault,” Rinne admitted helplessly.
Yet even in her helpless tone, Rei felt her pride as a woman had been deeply wounded.
“Lady Rinne, then what should I do now?” Her pride mattered little, Lily’s body was what truly mattered.
“Hmm… let me think… As it stands, there is only one method left to try.”
“What method? Please, Lady Rinne, teach me!”
“There is… a certain trick.” Rinne clearly disliked teaching Rei this method, but with Lily trapped in such a precarious state, there was no other choice. “Listen carefully, Uesugi. With your strength, it is impossible to draw out Lily’s Charm Heavenly Path through her body. But if you absorb it directly, then strength matters far less.”
“Absorb directly? Then… how does one absorb directly?” Rei asked in confusion.
“The Spirit Palace of a woman, though protected by Supreme God physique, has one place that leads directly to it. That is what is called the gateway of the Spirit Palace. You should be aware of certain kunoichi healing techniques. For example, if a female ninja were bitten by a poisonous serpent or insect, her sisters would draw out the venom by mouth. It is similar. If you use your lips and tongue at the gateway of the Spirit Palace, and at the same time apply the secret art I have given you, you can draw out the fluctuations of the Charm Heavenly Path directly, bypassing her bodily defenses.” Rinne spoke with helpless finality.
“The gateway of the Spirit Palace?” Rei’s delicate body trembled slightly, her breath deepening. “And… where is this gateway of the Spirit Palace?”
“Uesugi Rei? I believed you to be a woman of responsibility and courage. Are you not a woman yourself? If you close your eyes and sense, you will know where the gateway lies. Must I really say it aloud? If you cannot grasp even this, then do not come before me again.” Rinne’s tone grew sharp. She had never wanted Rei to use this method, but now that she had revealed it, Rei’s hesitation grated on her.
“Yes… yes, I understand…”
She had some idea but could not be certain. Closing her eyes, she turned her senses inward—first to herself, then to Lily.
Soon, she opened her eyes again. In her dark blue pupils burned a solemn, resolute light.
“I know, Lily… I know. But in your current condition, this is the only way left.” Rei drew in a deep breath, her silver hair dampened by the fine rain. She spent more than ten minutes preparing the preliminary techniques. By now, the accumulation of Lily’s Charm Heavenly Path had reached its limit, like a flood about to burst forth in full force.
“It seems my dear Lily is ready as well. Then, I shall begin.” Rei lowered her body. In the shadowed forests of Hizan, wind and rain howled and poured down. Yet amidst it all, faintly, there seemed to echo the ambiguous, intoxicating sounds of an unparalleled maiden.

Amid the night’s wind and rain… countless flowers may have fallen.
Next day, the rain finally stopped. Crystal-clear droplets formed on the broad banana leaves and dripped gently into the pond below.
Lily slowly opened her eyes, lying in Rei’s embrace. At that moment, Rei was seated against the trunk of a large tree.
“I… What happened to me? Sister Uesugi?”
“Lily, you’re awake? How do you feel? Is your body better now?”
“Mm…”
Lily felt her body had completely recovered. At last, she came to understand that even a strong body could have its downsides. Sometimes, when something exceeded its limits, it turned into a burden. Her feminine charm had grown so intense that her body had produced an excess of Charm Heavenly Path energy, which accumulated uncontrollably, leading to her earlier condition.
As her mind cleared, Lily recalled hazy fragments from the previous night. “Last night… I was barely conscious. I think… I remember it was you who treated me, Sister Uesugi? But… how exactly did you treat me? I… I can’t recall clearly.”
She only vaguely remembered her own unsteady, dazed state, and recalling it now filled her with deep embarrassment. She had likely lost all composure. Yet no matter how she tried, she couldn’t piece together exactly what her sister had done.
“Yes, Lily, it was I who treated you. But don’t overthink it. What matters is that your body is fine now,” Rei replied with a gentle smile in her eyes, one that only made Lily feel more self-conscious.
“Sister… how exactly did you treat me?” Lily still cared. In fact, she could faintly feel something in certain parts of her body… but it seemed too unlikely, and she didn’t dare to jump to conclusions.
2
“That… is something we can talk about later. For now, just rest in my arms and don’t think too much,” Rei said. Although usually assertive, she was especially gentle with Lily in this moment.
And that gentleness made Lily’s heart flutter.
“No—!” But the feeling only lasted a second. Lily suddenly sat up in Rei’s embrace. “Lady Bishamonten! We must hurry!”
She had already covered quite some ground with her rapid flight before, but this delay… had cost them an entire night! In a panic, Lily got to her feet. Sure enough, her body had fully recovered, she felt a subtle, exquisite sense of balance, as if everything within her had harmonized perfectly.
“Sister, we must move quickly!”
“Lily.” Rei also stood and, almost unconsciously, wrapped her arms around Lily’s slender waist. After last night’s events, it felt like she had regained confidence when facing Lily. “Is your body truly alright now?”
As Rei pulled her into a tight embrace, Lily’s cheeks flushed with heat, memories of last night’s dreamlike haze flickered in her mind.
“Sister… my body is completely fine now. Let’s hurry and catch up! After all… that’s your honored mother.”
For some reason, the look in Lily’s eyes—brimming with worry and sincerity—felt as if she regarded Bishamonten not just as Rei’s mother, but almost as her own. And that look gave Rei an inexplicable sense of pride.
