Chapter 2379 - 1304: Reorganizing the Realm, Shadow Demon’s Request
Chapter 2379: Chapter 1304: Reorganizing the Realm, Shadow Demon’s Request
After the Peng Emperor led those Heizi Tribe straight out of the Blazing Nebula, he once again took his leave of Su Lin.
Only, the two sides no longer bared their hearts and talked as they had the last time. The Peng Emperor produced the three Law Stickers he had condensed, said a single word of "take care" to the Wolf Lord, and then vanished from this place together with Eternal Night Twenty-one.
These two existences, counted among the very peak experts even in the Orion Star Group, had come from nowhere and disappeared into nowhere.
Even the traces of their existence faded away with them.
Even the Wolf Lord had a brief instant of daze, as though the Peng Emperor and Eternal Night Twenty-one had never come here at all.
"Heh heh! Peng Emperor, you’d even use Thought Ash on me?"
At this moment Su Lin stood in the starry sky, a power roaming and surging around him that seemed as if it did not belong to this stretch of starry sky at all, devouring the Power of Thought Ash unleashed by the Peng Emperor in its entirety.
Several faint gray message prompts floated up before his eyes.
"Congratulations, you have devoured Middle Dimension Realm Mind Fire and obtained 1,000,000 Evolution Essence."
"Congratulations, you have devoured Middle Dimension Realm Mind Fire and obtained 999,999 Evolution Essence."
A single wisp of the Peng Emperor’s Mind Fire could grant Su Lin a handsome amount of Evolution Essence, rivaling even the total Evolution Essence gained from devouring a Half-step Forbidden Beast in full.
Yet compared to these Evolution Essence, Su Lin felt a kind of indescribable disappointment stirring in his heart.
But when he thought it through carefully, he understood.
After all, in this Dark Starry Sky, what true friendship could be as everlasting and unmoving as the sea?
Back then, the Peng Emperor opened his heart to him partly because Su Lin had awakened his True Spirit and ignited his Soul Fire, making him half a savior.
On the other hand, it was very likely the might and domineering nature of Borrowing Power to Summon God that truly shook the Peng Emperor.
It made the Peng Emperor believe that behind Su Lin might stand an expert capable of spanning Heaven and Earth, one who would even dare clash head-on with those Unspeakable existences at the Star Sky Source!
Yet now that Su Lin had suppressed Borrowing Power to Summon God, and had revealed only a very small portion of the inheritance he obtained in the Ink Sea Forbidden Domain, the Peng Emperor’s attitude had obviously cooled.
But that was only natural.
After all, when had Su Lin himself not also deliberately hidden many of his cards?
In the Dark Starry Sky, no one can trust anyone absolutely.
Nor can anyone remain forever on the same side as anyone else.
Even a lifesaving benefactor, even those with bonds forged in life-and-death, are the same.
It’s just that, relative to most, the Peng Emperor had already done quite well.
At the very least, he had secured considerable benefits for Su Lin, and that could be counted as repaying the favor of awakening his Residual Soul back then.
"Time to go back. Now that the Heizi Tribe has been pulled out by the Peng Emperor, it’s time to consolidate Heizi territory and the vassal remnant forces under them, and to unify the Blazing Nebula!"
Su Lin stood in the starry sky for a brief moment; in the end, the disappointment in his gaze faded away completely, replaced by firmness and resolve.
Because no matter when, pinning hopes on the bonds with other Species and other powerful beings is far inferior to focusing on one’s own Strength and power.
In the Dark Starry Sky, the Strength of himself and of the forces under his command is the very foundation of whether he can stand firm.
With that mood, Su Lin’s figure flickered and he headed toward the Blazing Nebula.
Upon entering, he discovered that the entire Wolf Pack Civilization and the Heizi Tribe’s vassal forces were all in utter bewilderment.
They no longer remembered the Peng Emperor’s recent appearance, but seeing that all the Heizi Tribe were already gone from their surroundings, they still felt that some tremendous event must absolutely have occurred beforehand.
And with the Wolf Pack Civilization no longer having that enemy they could clash with in a blood-drenched struggle, their battlefront no longer knew where to charge next.
As for the Heizi Tribe’s vassal forces?
With no Heizi Tribe left to serve as a backbone, they broke and surrendered in swathes.
Only a handful of vassal forces that had been thoroughly brainwashed by the Heizi Tribe still tried to fight their way up to the heavens and rebuild their foundation.
Yet with all Heizi Tribe military power vanishing into thin air, the struggle of these very few vassal forces was like moths darting into a flame, like ants trying to shake a tree—laughably futile.
After Su Lin returned, he let out a long howl, and by relying on the Star Cloud River Map he swiftly swept through and shifted across all the Battlefields, ordering that each front be pacified at speed and the remnant armies gathered in.
Because although the Heizi Tribe had been defeated, this news was destined to reach the ears of the Jinhui System and the Entropy Prison System at great speed.
If those two great powers joined forces against the Wolf Pack Civilization, it would be no small trouble.
Therefore, the Wolf Pack Civilization must be integrated rapidly; they cannot capsize in the gutter!
Indeed, as things stand, the Entropy Prison System and Jinhui System are already relegated to the gutter in the eyes of the Wolf Pack Civilization!!
Because they have even defeated the Black Sun Clan, who had once been in their prime, rampant and unmatched!
Yet while the Wolf Lord traversed the various Battlefields, apart from seeing many familiar faces fall and many familiar faces grow, he also encountered a familiar force amid the fragmentary foundation near the Central Star Core.
"W... Wolf Lord, long time no see."
At this moment, Shadow Demon and the Neptune Warlord, looking at the Wolf Lord before them who had already defeated the Heizi Tribe and officially become the crowned king of the Blazing Nebula, also had a trace of complexity and reverence in their eyes.
Complexity, because once upon a time they had still been struggling against the Wolf Lord within the Radiant Sun Star System, yet in just a few hundred million years of time, the Wolf Lord had already accomplished such a world-shaking hegemony.
As for reverence, there was no need to say more.
The Wolf Lord’s aura, like Heaven towering above, like a Demon God descending into the dust, was already silently proclaiming that he and Shadow Demon, and the Neptune Warlord, were now two different Species altogether.
One stood upon the true summit of this Star Nebula, while they still struggled among the myriad beings.
"Shadow Demon, Neptune Warlord, we are old friends from the same Stellar System. The grudges of the past have long become bygone dust. If you submit, I can break precedent and let you each command a Military Group yourselves."
The Wolf Lord looked at Shadow Demon and the Neptune Warlord, recalling that they too had, at the last, aided the Wolf Pack Civilization, blood-battling the Radiant Sun Tribe.
That favor had long since been repaid, yet it had existed, after all.
Thus Su Lin did not mind granting them a special honor.
What’s more, Shadow Demon was sinister and crafty yet did not lose sight of the greater picture; Neptune was good at stratagem, possessed fierce courage, and was an excellent hand at training and tempering the edge of his troops.
In the future, if they each commanded a Military Group, nothing major would go awry.
In fact, the very fact that Shadow Demon and the Neptune Warlord could still hold fast to the fragmentary foundations they occupied even now already spoke volumes.
Only, Shadow Demon looked at the Wolf Lord in a daze for a long time; he also knew full well that the very fact the Wolf Lord appeared upon such a battlefield as his, which was not truly important, meant that this great war had already come to its end.
"Many thanks, Wolf Lord! Only, I shall forgo it. I am, in the end, one who received great grace from the Shadow Clan, and I only hope that, for the sake that we both hail from Earth, you might allow me to go to the Northern Star Core to take away that Direct Lineage Residual Soul who fell in battle. He is my benefactor. Without his legacy, I fear I could never have become a Transcendent from Earth, and would have died many times over far earlier."
In the end, Shadow Demon still refused the olive branch extended by the Wolf Lord.
For no matter how much torment and humiliation he had once suffered at the hands of the Black Five Heavenly Lord, Shadow Demon, who had risen step by step from the humblest of origins to where he stood today, understood very well what it meant to repay kindness.
Even if that kindness had been nothing more than a casual legacy left behind by the Shadow Clan Direct Lineage back then.
Yet to Shadow Demon, it was worthy of repaying with everything.
"A Residual Soul of the Shadow Clan Direct Lineage, is it?"
Su Lin recalled that some time ago, when he was campaigning against the main base of the Heizi Tribe, he had indeed sensed upon the Heaven-shooting Bow a very strong wisp of Residual Soul that did not belong to any of the various Black Sun Clan Heavenly Lords.
Only, back then he had unleashed all methods at once, with no time to think further, much less to trace back to the source.
"Wolf Lord, the Battlefield has already been decided as it now stands. That Residual Soul of the Shadow Clan Direct Lineage is already in his candle’s guttering years, inferior even to the Blazing Ancestor, the Heavenly Forbidden Mountain Master, and the others. He can no longer play any role; even if you devour him, you will gain nothing more than a bit of Soul Power.
Better to let me leave with him. I will do my utmost to escort him back to the Shadow Clan. Then you will have thereby forged a strand of good karma. Factions are lined up within the Shadow Clan; if other powers truly wish to borrow strength from this war to settle accounts with the Wolf Pack Civilization, at least there will be a lord who can speak on behalf of you and the Wolf Pack Civilization."
Shadow Demon hurriedly petitioned again, his Spiritual Will exceedingly sincere.
This made Su Lin gaze calmly at this former Transcendent from Earth, and in the end he nodded: "Enough, I will not press you. Go find the Angel Army Group; they have gone to take over the Northern Star Core!"
"Thank you, Wolf Lord! Once we return to the Shadow Clan, we will definitely ask our lord to speak for you and the Wolf Pack Civilization."
This caused Shadow Demon to rejoice greatly; he also laid down all his vigilance, directly kneeling and prostrating, offering the Wolf Lord a great ceremony of three bows and nine kowtows.
Yet Su Lin merely shook his head: "I am only mindful that you were once a senior who walked out from Earth, who, in the end, sheltered all the beings of Earth for an era. Moreover, this war has been fought too cruelly; I do not wish all the old acquaintances of former days to end one by one in death and Dao-dissolution. The Star Sky Road is long in the future—take good care of yourself."
This strand of Spiritual Will from Su Lin also made the rejoicing Shadow Demon gain a trace of heaviness and sorrow: "Mm, I understand. If I have the chance in days to come, I will return again."
Next, Su Lin’s gaze turned toward the Neptune Warlord.
"I, Neptune Warlord, am willing to lead the remnant forces of this fragmentary foundation to surrender to the Wolf Pack Civilization. May the Wolf Lord accept me. In days to come, I will surely blood-battle the front lines for the Wolf Lord, risking life and death!"
The Neptune Warlord had not received great grace from the Shadow Clan, so he directly accepted the Wolf Lord’s olive branch.
He likewise knelt and prostrated, offering the Wolf Lord a grand salute.
And all the War Generals and Military strength behind him, upon seeing this scene, all understood clearly that they had changed masters.
Thus, all of them, amid long howls, likewise knelt and prostrated. Strands of Spiritual Will of surrender converged one after another, soaring straight into the heavens.
And once this fragmentary foundation also submitted, the Wolf Lord once more traversed to several other Battlefields where clashes were still entangled.
Of course, it was not every kind of power that he accepted. Those Military forces and powerhouses who had forged a blood feud of life and death against the Wolf Pack Civilization were erased by thunderous methods.
Among them were the Eternal Darkness Royal Remnant Army!
The Vassal Forces stationed at the Southern Star Core Base Camp, who had deeply received the favor of the Heizi Tribe, and so on, were all completely slaughtered!
It can be said that with the joining of the Wolf Lord’s True Body, and with all members of the Heizi Tribe taken away, this war that would otherwise have needed at least another one to two million years to utterly purge the lingering poison of the Heizi Tribe was now ending and being pacified at extreme Speed.
And the scattered Military forces of the Wolf Pack Civilization were also rapidly regathering and integrating.
As the various Military forces regathered and merged, and swiftly occupied the original Three Main Star Cores foundations of the Black Sun Clan, the news that the Wolf Pack Civilization had won a great victory and the Heizi Tribe had been utterly routed swept out from here across the entire Blazing Nebula.
Naturally, this also included the still fierce-fighting Jinhui System and Entropy Prison System!
