Chapter 1009: Preparing for Battle
Chapter 1009: Preparing for Battle
After Keli discovered the Chaos Realm compass had failed, she didn't tell this to anyone else.
The Chaos Realm compass had been in use for so many years, and currently all the wizards staying in the Chaos Realm had been sent in with Saul's permission. But if they knew they could never leave the Chaos Realm again, would they have other thoughts?
Keli wasn't very familiar with most people, so trust was limited.
But Keli told Shaya about this matter.
Shaya had a very special method that might allow contact with Saul. Usually he also served as Keli's messenger. She just didn't know whether Shaya and Saul could still maintain contact when the Chaos Realm compass had failed.
Fortunately, Keli hadn't been worried for long when Shaya came to find her with good news.
"Keli." Shaya waved to call Keli into a separate laboratory. "Saul contacted me."
Keli's eyes lit up, and the corners of her mouth couldn't help but show a hint of a proud smile.
"I told you he would contact you soon, no need to worry." Keli crossed her arms. "What did Saul say?"
Looking at Keli, Shaya couldn't bring himself to remind her who had been pretending to be calm earlier. "Saul said to pretend we haven't contacted him and do whatever we should be doing.""Haven't contacted him?" Keli's eyes rolled halfway around—she knew what to do. "Help me call Brando, Ann, and Noah over. We have things to do next."
Keli called all the wizards together and informed everyone about temporarily being unable to enter or exit the Chaos Realm.
Brando was the first to frown. He paced back and forth with his hands behind his back for two steps, then walked up to Keli. "Can you let me try that magical tool you use to enter the Chaos Realm?"
Keli hesitated for a moment, but still took out the compass from her pocket and placed it in Brando's large hand wearing iron gauntlets.
Having seen Keli use the Chaos Realm compass, Brando knew roughly how to operate it.
He carefully opened the compass and tried it himself.
The Chaos Realm compass had no reaction at all.
Brando fiddled with it himself for a while, gained nothing, and prepared to return the compass to Keli.
Keli raised her chin. "You others should try it too. This is a spatial tool. We don't have much achievement in spatial magic, but maybe someone can happen to repair the compass?"
So the Chaos Realm compass went to Shaya's hands. After all, he was the other third-rank wizard here.
Shaya actually had some understanding of spatial knowledge. After fusing with the Inverted Tree, he knew that besides being able to control large numbers of souls, the Inverted Tree also had a tree heart space. But this tree heart space's ability leaned toward being a talent.
And people with talents generally could use their talents well, but found it very difficult to explain the principles and patterns contained within their talents.
So after Shaya fiddled with the compass twice, he very self-awarely handed it to Ann.
As a result, after Ann took the compass, she directly returned it to Keli. "I know absolutely nothing about spatial magic, so I won't try to show off."
Upon hearing this, both Brando and Shaya looked left and right somewhat awkwardly.
Keli took back the compass and asked Noah, "Would you like to study it?"
Noah had never thought that the true wizards would give him the compass. So when Ann skipped over him and directly returned the compass to Keli, he had no thoughts about it.
Who knew Keli would still ask for his opinion.
"Me?" Noah pointed back at himself. "I should pass. I'm just a first-level apprentice right now."
Keli didn't force him. "You're Saul's student. Although you can't advance, Saul has given you all the basic knowledge he should have taught you. If you want to understand some spatial knowledge, I'll help you too."
Noah felt somewhat ashamed. He had indeed been studying those magical introductory knowledge seriously before, getting a complete set of secondhand textbooks that Saul had once used. However, after he began leading Scorpion to unify the Boulder Tribe and continuously expand tribal power, his study time had drastically decreased.
But Noah didn't regret it. His individual power was limited. Only after establishing the Boulder Tribe could he better complete the tasks Saul had assigned.
The current scale of the bone army was also because after he unified the tribe, he dispatched most of the able-bodied people to help Saul excavate bone monsters everywhere.
In this space with almost no magical elemental particles, ordinary people could make up for the power gap with wizards through numbers.
Although Noah didn't regret delaying his studies, he was very grateful that Keli said this. Even though he knew Keli would say this entirely because he was Saul's student.
It was just a pity that he could only reach the level of wizard apprentice.
After Keli and the others confirmed that the Chaos Realm compass had indeed malfunctioned, they began discussing what to do next.
While several people were discussing, suddenly someone from the Black Water Tribe ran to the laboratory's perimeter, then kept jumping up and down, trying to attract the attention of Keli and the others.
Ann raised her hand and threw out something like spider silk, directly sticking it to the person, then pulled them in.
"What is it?" Ann said coldly.
Usually, these Chaos Realm residents didn't dare come over without being summoned by wizards. To come over so excitedly now, there must be a very important discovery.
The man who was pulled over caught his breath twice before clutching his chest and saying, "Several lords, something happened at the great rift. The people working down there, they, they've all gone mad!"
Keli stood up with a "whoosh." "We're going over. Noah and Ann, you stay up here to calm the ordinary people."
Noah had just managed to nod when he saw the three wizards shoot straight into the sky, draw an arc, and fall into the nearby great rift.
But the three had just gone down for a short while when they suddenly flew back up from the rift and landed beside Noah.
And Noah hadn't even had time to move a step.
"What happened?" Seeing the serious expressions of the three, Noah asked uneasily.
Keli looked at the two others, her expression still ugly. She slowly spoke, "Anchor point monsters have appeared in the rift."
Ann was shocked and asked, "What? How is that possible? Were they dug up?"
Brando shook his head. "It doesn't seem like it. We've already explored the entire great rift and confirmed that besides normal bone monsters, there were no other mutated creatures inside."
"These monsters should have run over from the other side." Keli said with a cold face.
She roughly knew why the Chaos Realm had been sealed.
She also roughly guessed why Saul had them act like they hadn't contacted him.
So this was those people's real purpose? Seal the Chaos Realm, then use anchor point monsters to catch them all in one net?
Shaya stole glances at Keli, preparing to see what she wanted to do.
Keli didn't consider for very long before clapping her hands to decide. "These monsters should have come prepared, but fortunately, we're not completely unprepared either. The bone army has trained for so many days—shouldn't it come in handy at this moment?"
Keli looked around at everyone. "Before we know when the Chaos Realm passage will be restored, we need to start using magic power carefully."
Saul had started moving magic crystals to the Chaos Realm very early, just in case one day the people here would need to use large amounts of magic crystals. And today they would come in handy.
But although there were many magic crystals, they couldn't withstand the wanton consumption of war. They had to use magic power carefully from the very beginning.
The others nodded in agreement, then listened to Keli assign tasks.
The first formal battle with anchor point monsters was about to begin.
The only good news was that in the Chaos Realm, the anchor point monsters' strength and pollution attributes were also extremely suppressed.
