Chapter 1234 Meeting Freya Finally!
Chapter 1234 Meeting Freya Finally!
Max remained silent, unsure how to reveal the truth about the dark red cloud. The leaders were already shaken by the reality of Mark's immortality and the dangerous method required to kill him.
If they learned that even defeating Mark would not save their world, if they learned that something far worse was already awakening—a force capable of consuming the entire planet—despair might swallow the last fragments of hope that remained in them.
He hesitated, weighing the consequences. Should he tell them? Should he burden them with knowledge of a calamity that even he could not stop?
His eyes drifted toward Freya.
She sat with a calm, steady posture, her face unreadable. Not a flicker of change crossed her expression even when the red cloud was mentioned. Max studied her closely, and a suspicion formed in his mind. She was from the Divine Realm, just like him. She was older, wiser, and had lived through events far beyond what the people of Acaris could imagine.
He had a strong feeling that she already understood the magnitude of the threat. She likely knew just how terrible the situation had become, even if she said nothing about it.
"Let us first deal with the problem named Mark before turning our attention to anything else," Freya said calmly. Her voice spread through the open ground with quiet authority. "We have demons and nulls running unchecked across the Middle Domain, and Mark stands above them all. We cannot fight several catastrophes at once. Eliminating Mark must come first."
Her calmness steadied the room, grounding those who felt lost.
"It will take time before we can resolve every problem," Freya continued. "And in that time, I believe we may find a way to confront the other threat as well."
She turned her gaze toward the leaders, her tone unwavering.
"Our first priority is to retrieve the crown. Only with the crown in our possession will we have even a single chance of killing Mark. Everything else can come after."
Her words carried a finality that no one dared question.
Several leaders nodded, accepting her reasoning. Others exhaled shakily, relieved to have at least one clear direction. Even those who remained doubtful could not argue against Freya's logic. Without the crown, all their struggles would be meaningless.
With a few more exchanges between the leaders—mostly confirming strategies, assembling teams, and assigning responsibilities—the atmosphere slowly settled.
Finally, the meeting was brought to an end.
One by one, the leaders stood and left the open ground, carrying with them a mixture of fear, determination, and fragile hope.
Max remained seated for a few moments longer, unable to shake the weight in his chest.
He knew the truth.
Even if they defeated Mark…
There was still a storm waiting to swallow everything.
"Max, come with me," Freya said gently. She did not raise her voice, yet Max felt an invisible pull guiding him after her. She walked toward one of the inner corridors of the meeting grounds, her steps calm and steady.
Max took a deep breath before following her. Several elders exchanged curious glances as they watched them leave. Most of the people here had no idea that Max and Freya were siblings. To them, Freya was an unfathomable powerhouse from the Divine Realm, while Max was the rising genius of Acaris. Their connection was known only to a very small circle.
Max said nothing as he walked behind her. His heart pounded rhythmically in his chest, a mixture of anticipation and pain building with every step.
Freya led him into a secluded room deep within the core of the Four God Nation. The door shut behind them with a soft thud. The moment Max entered, he noticed the runes engraved across the walls. There were sound-concealing runes, spatial isolation runes, soul-severing runes, and several others he could not identify. It was the most secure room he had ever stepped into. Nothing spoken here could leak outside.

Freya turned toward him with a faint smile. "I suppose you have many questions you want to ask," she said softly. "Ask anything you wish."
Max clenched his fists, but instead of speaking, he stepped toward her and wrapped his arms around her. The hug was sudden, and Freya stiffened for a moment, startled. But then she relaxed. A warm smile spread across her face as she returned the embrace. She gently rested her hand on his back, as if comforting a child she had not seen in years.
"I missed you so much," Max whispered. His voice cracked slightly.
Freya closed her eyes for a brief moment and held him tighter. Despite everything Max had been through—battles, training, bloodshed, awakening world-shattering abilities—he still held onto the heart of a younger brother who simply wanted his sister.
When they finally stepped apart, Max's eyes had begun to glisten. He looked at her as if afraid she would disappear if he blinked.
"There are so many things I want to ask," Max said softly. "So many questions I have been carrying with me. But… I think I can wait. Right now, I just… I am grateful you're here. I thought I would never see you again."
Freya reached out and gently patted his head. Her touch was soft, warm, and filled with a tenderness Max had longed for. "How could I not come to see you, Maxy?" she said in that familiar tone she always used in the past. "Look at you. You have grown into a strong young man."
The use of his old nickname broke something inside Max.
All the exhaustion he had kept buried, all the strain of carrying the weight of a dying world, all the frustration of constantly fighting alone—everything surged up at once. His composure shattered like fragile glass.
"I can't do this anymore," Max said as tears rolled down his cheeks. His voice trembled deeply. "I am so tired."
Freya stepped forward and pulled him into another embrace, this time tighter than before. She rested his head against her shoulder, letting him cry freely.
"You have done enough," she whispered gently. "You don't have to carry everything alone anymore. I'm here now. No matter how far you go, no matter what you face… you will always have me."
Max's shoulders shook as he cried silently. Freya stroked his hair with steady patience, her expression softening—an expression she only ever showed to him.
"I should have come sooner," she said quietly, her voice filled with regret. "I watched you from afar. I saw you suffer and grow. I should have come to see you long ago, but I had reasons. I didn't want to pull you into anything too soon. But I am here now, and I am not leaving."
Max held onto her tightly, as if afraid she would vanish.
In that moment, the world outside did not matter. The demons, the nulls, Mark, the devouring cloud—everything faded away.
What remained was only a sister comforting her broken brother.
And a brother finally allowing himself to collapse into the arms of the person he had been searching for since the day he awakened his powers.
